Engine: 454 CID V8 Supercharged Transmission: 4 Speed AutomaticMileage: 3,500 ( since rebuilt )
Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to have this incredible 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air listed for sale. Modifying any Tri-Five Chevy is sure to upset some purists, but it's hard to find any faults with the work done to this beauty. Having undergone a complete frame-off restoration, the heart of this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is a supercharged 454 CID V8. This 1990 marine high-performance big block engine was line honed, decked and balanced, and it was extensively upgraded with J-E Pistons, Speed Pro Plasma-Moly Rings, Eagle Rods, Comp Cams Pure Energy Camshaft, Comp Cams Magnum Roller Rocker Arms, Crane Roller Lifters and an MSD ignition system including high torque starter, distributor, coil and cap. This engine mates to a TH400 Turbo 400 with Gear Vendor Under/Over drive, a TCI 2500 Stall Converter and a Hurst shifter. This power is sent to the rear wheel through a nine-inch Ford rear end that has been shortened by eight inches for the mini tubs, and overall performance and handling has been optimized with tubular steel A-arms, Hotchkiss dropped spindles and four-wheel disc brakes. And that's just the performance side of this car. The body is straight and was given a rich, custom black-over-burgundy paint job with beautiful chrome and 15-inch Center Line wheels. To maintain the stock look of this car, the blown big block is mounted 6.5 inches lower and moved back a full eight inches to accommodate the blower without requiring any changes to the hood. Even the inside received a custom touch replacing the standard '55 interior with a leather-wrapped cabin out of a 1967 Cadillac Eldorado. Options on this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air include air conditioning, AM/FM radio, cassette, power brakes, power steering, power seats, tilt steering wheel, seat belts, leather interior, aluminum alloy wheels and radial tires. Engine: LS1Transmission: 4L60EMileage: 157 ( undocumented )
For sale in our Tampa showroom is one of the most iconic cars of all time, a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. This breathtaking 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air has been restomoded to bring the best of the past and the present together. Inside the beautiful engine bay of this Bel Air is an LS1 engine that is connected to a 4L60 Transmission. The LS1 is cooled by an aluminum Griffin radiator and breathes though a short ram air intake. All of that LS power is no good without the ability to tame it, so this Bel Air stops quickly using hydroboost power wildwood disk brakes in all four corners. Power steering helps you be able to turn the wheel with nothing more but a finger. The exterior has been laid down in a beautiful two-tone orange and light cream color. You can really tell the time was taken while this automobile was painted. 18 inch Foose wheels fit over the massive brakes and wrap the whole exterior into one amazing package. The undercarriage is in the same clean shape as the exterior. Once you look inside you will notice the newly covered seats, carpet, headliner and gauges. New paint adorns the steering wheel and dash. The retro sound stereo will keep the tunes pumping while you cruise this beauty to any destination. For those of you in hot climates don’t fret as this 55 Bel Air comes with air conditioning. This iconic vehicle has aged like a fine wine and is a piece of classical automotive art with the heartbeat and reliably of a modern engine. You don’t want to miss it. Engine: 383 StrokerTransmission: 700R4/Shift KitMileage: 8,000 ( since rebuilt )
Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this good looking 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door post. ’55 Chevys will always have a warm spot in this boy’s heart. The Drag race scene in American Graffiti began the yearn for one of these classics. Imagine being 16 years old and trying to persuade your Mom to let you buy one with a V8 and a 4-speed manual. 40 years later and still waiting to get my 1st 55 Chevy. Anyways, this Bel Air has 87287 actual miles on the body and frame per the current owner. The drivetrain has way less mileage with only 8000 since the rebuild. The body and frame were separated in 2012, painted then reassembled. At this time the engine was upgraded to a 383 Stroker Chevy small block V8 and mated to a 700R4 automatic transmission. The combo gives good reliable power, the Bel Air will now cruise at 70 mph and only turn 2100 rpm on the tach. The exterior of Teal Blue goes well with the gray cloth interior. Finishing off the exterior look is a nice set of Boyd Coddington 5 spoke aluminum wheels. If you always wanted a ’55 Chevy Bel Air since childhood, call now before this decides to finally get one. Options for 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door post include; AM/FM Radio with Cassette Player, Cloth Interior, Aluminum Alloy shod with Radial Tires. Engine: 540 CID Reher-Morrison V8Transmission: BTE PowerglideMileage: 0 ( undocumented )
Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is proud to present this Jerry Bickel-built 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air race car. If you've always wanted a real race car that was built by one of the legends in NHRA racing, but you were afraid to ask, "how much?", we have the car for you. Originally brought to the track by Don Gray Trucking as the "Torture II", with its U.S. Body-supplied '55 Sedan Race Body Shell. Built by Jerry Bickel Race Cars, Inc. in 1995, this is one legend that has stood the test of time and looks better than it did when it was first completed. Smothered in a gorgeous Tangelo Pearl finish, with very subtle flame work that starts on the hood and continues down the front flanks, this is one sweet-looking hot ride. But don't let the looks fool you - this car is one thing, and that's "all business". Sporting a Reher-Morrison 540 CID big block Chevy V8 with its Williams Carburetors-built race carb, backed by a custom BTE Powerglide transmission, this car is set up to let you make fools out of your bracket racing competition. With an air throttle and throttle stop, you can run extremely consistent times. With its 2016 NHRA-certified chassis (s/n A071910) good for 7.50 and slower E/Ts, this car is virtually turn-key ready for the track. From the full tubular chassis and integrated roll cage, to a Dzus fastener-laden body and interior panels, you can tell that this car is built for the track. The snorkel scoop-laden front clip comes completely off, allowing for full access to everything in the engine bay. Whether you need access to steering componentry, the engine, or the front coil-over drag suspension, there's virtually nothing that needs working on that can't be accessed easily. The massive mill is braced by a torque plate at the front, enabling it to become an integral part of the fully reinforced tubular race chassis, with it multiple-link adjustable rear, ensuring that this beast stays straight and true from launch to run-out at the top. The electric water pump, massive aluminum radiator with electric fan, and trans cooler help ensure that everything stays within optimum operating temps during each run. Further equipped with Mark Williams Hi-Torque axles, Lamb multi-piece rotors and Lamb racing calipers, multi-piece Weld Drag wheels at all four corners, Hoosier skinnies up front, massive Hoosier wrinkle wall slicks out back, and wheelie bars, this car says, "get me to the track, baby!" from as far away as you can see it. Under the hood is that gigantic 540 CID Reher-Morrison big block Chevy V8, with its Williams Carburetors carb and custom-fabbed race headers. When this beast lights off, no one will be able to keep from snapping their head toward the noise to see what's causing the thunder. A full competition-approved fuel cell and the twin trunk-mounted Optima batteries are easy to get to by removing the Dzus-fastened trunk, and more Dzus fasteners allow easy access to key driveline components normally covered by the floor pan. A fully adjustable rear spoiler sits atop the aft edge of the deck lid and allows custom tuning of downforce (and therefore ETs). FYI, those dual Optima batteries help ensure that everyone can see your working HID headlights and taillights during those ultra-high-speed night racing runs (in addition to their normal duty, of course). Out back, a purpose-built Mark Williams complete 3rd member setup serves as part of a fully adjustable multi-link rear suspension, with Drag Coil-over shocks and wheelie bar, which serve to keep the rear end planted and the front end out of the sky at launch. Inside, the driver has all controls within easy reach, and fingertip controls make it easy, with the Jerry Bickel wiring setup and control panel being reachable even when the driver is fully belted into the Kirkey racing bucket with the massive Simpson race harness. This race car is ready to hit the strip with no excuses, and is ready for the pit crew between passes, with its abundant Dzus fasteners providing easy on/off of its front clip and trunk. A full set of gauges help the driver keep track of critical functions, and a removable steering wheel helps for easier ingress/egress before and after your hot passes. If you're looking for a turn-key 8 second drag car, this is the one you want. This is a race only vehicle and does not come with a title. For more information on this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Jerry Bickel race car for sale, please call the Houston showroom at (832) 243-6220; or email us at "Houston@GatewayClassicCars.com". Inside you'll find a stock appearing interior with correct 210 seats. Most restorations seem to lean towards Bel Air interiors regardless if they’re Bel Airs or not. The 210 looks just as good and is in an Ivory and Charcoal color scheme that goes quite well with the Quasar Blue Metallic. Miles are showing 73,010 and are believed to be original. Modern upgrades include an aluminum radiator to help dissipate heat and keep the engine running cool. Adding to the aluminum radiator is an electric cooling fan. These electric fans are very good to have during any summer parade or stuck in traffic where the clutch fan isn't spinning fast enough to keep things cool. Brakes are original style drums and are brand new. An Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold helps breath cool air into the heads and an Edelbrock carburetor supplies the fuel. Edelbrock has sure made a name for themselves over the years and this easy to use carburetor solidifies their great reputation. Other notable restoration items include a new windshield, new side glass and rubber gaskets for the doors, windshield and trunk. 1957 Chevy's are as American as Apple Pie and probably one of the most recognizable cars ever built. This one has the looks and that great V8 rumble. Don’t miss out on this classic ’57! For more information on this 1957 Chevrolet 210 Hardtop, call our St. Louis showroom at 618-271-3000.
