1983 Land Rover Defender 110

1983 Land Rover Defender 110

Engine: 3.5L V8
Transmission: 5 Speed Manual
Mileage: 69,932 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is pleased to present this outfitted 1983 Land Rover Defender 110 Wagon for your consideration. Very few vehicles are as notable as the Land Rover Series and Defenders. With 67 years of uninterrupted production, the Series and Defenders enjoyed world-wide sales and many admiring fans. With owners ranging from the Queen of England, to the average potato farmer, the Series and Defenders were classless and looked good in both the city and on a safari. It is argued that they are the first and only car recognized by remote third world populations, a true testament to its durability and longevity. 1983 was the first year for the longer 110 model. The long wheelbase 110 wagons are loved for their space and utility benefits over the shorter 90 chassis. This truck is in very solid shape and has all the right outfitting. There is tons of patina, but the truck has probably seen tons of unique places and is full of stories. The truck features a number of diamond plated panels, as well as 16” steel wheels with large tires, steel bumpers, sand shovel, off-road jack, Safari roof rack, 2000 lbs winch, hood mounted spare, auxiliary lights, and a trailer hitch. The safari tan paint is generally nice and contrasts nicely with the white removeable top. The interior features a basic, functional dashboard as well as clean, black vinyl seats. The windows slide, and the floors are hose friendly. It can’t get any more functional than this. This 1983 production model features an eight-cylinder engine requiring unleaded fuel. It’s mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and has low range 4x4. While not the quickest truck on the road, the short gearing moves it along well and nothing will stop this off road. 1983 Land Rover IIIA

1983 Land Rover IIIA

Engine: 2.5 L
Transmission: 4-Speed Manual
Mileage: 62,187 ( undocumented )

For sale in our Fort Lauderdale showroom is this fun and exciting 1983 Landrover IIIA. This rugged design and attention getting vehicle came from Columbia, South America with 2 owners in its lifetime. It can be driven on main roads, back roads, dirt roads, and pretty much all roads, but with 4x4 as an option it’s primarily made for off road fun and getting down and dirty. Powered by it’s original 4 cylinder 2.5L engine and 4-speed manual transmission, this Landrover still has all it’s original panels and brush guards. The clutch is brand new and works great. Big meaty off-road tires give this one an aggressive look including the big spare on the hood. The front is equipped with a steel bar surrounding the grille, and the rear has an old school tow hitch if you want to pull something light weight. There is no power steering or power brakes, so this machine will need someone that knows how to handle it. The 4-wheel drive works great, and can be put in either low or high gears Options included are cloth interior with seatbelts, 4-wheel drive, tow hitch, steel wheels, and Biasl tires.
