The Atlanta Showroom is proud to offer this 1964 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. We don’t have enough space on this description to fill all the restored detail of this 4 speed Karmann. Let’s start off with the full restoration all of all new metal parts replaced which included left and right front lower fenders along with the rocker panels and lower quarter panels, and battery tray. The rear floor pans halves were replaced and raised 3 inches and the rear wheels stretched 1 ½ inches per side to fit the 17” wheels. The body work was primed and blocked twice before the paint with a high quality primer. The body was then covered with a Dupont chroma premier basecoat clear coat paint in chestnut brown over Indian red. The suspension and brakes were next on this restoration project. The front custom beam was narrowed and the shock towers are under the gas tank. The Airkewld 2 ½ front drop spindles are complimented with new kingpins and linkpins with new shocks front and rear with adjustable rear left springs. New tie rods and ends, Airkewld front and rear bad brake disc kit with cross drilled rotors and front 4 piston calipers stop this Ghia very well. The 17” billet polished and painted Porsche Fuch Wheel with a 7” wide with an offset deep dish rear wheels. All new metal brake lines and grommets, stainless steel braded soft brake lines and a new e-brake cables finishes the brake system. The 1500 single port engine has been completely rebuilt and painted. The engine exhales via a new stock exhaust system and looks amazing. This 64 has new heater cables, new engine bay seals, new firewall insulation, new starter and bushings, and a new clutch, throw out bearing and cable to clamp the power. All of the body chrome trim has been replaced or re-chromed along with the rubber seals and gaskets. New front and bumpers and new windshield with window rubber. Lenny Coop custom made the interior with square weave carpet, mohair headliner and two tone door panels with cloth seats. A new dash pad was placed and your eyes will read the restored speedo working properly because of the new cabling. The wood steering wheel is the great touch to give you the feel of the road. The last piece of this incredible build is the electrical system. All new WireWorks complete wiring harness was installed, new 12 volt bulbs and original dash switches, new 12 volt wiper motor and horn. This car is really done with a level of craftsmanship that is hard to duplicate. If you have ever wanted a Karmann Ghia, this is the example you have been waiting for your entire life. Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this awesome 1968 Volkswagen Beetle. Many will say the Bug is responsible for what we know as the interstate highway system that we have today. In the early 30’s a crazy man in Germany wanted to make a “high-speed” system of roads to move people and product through his country. Little did we know at the time this man would become to known as the Furor and the real reason for these roads was to move troops quickly. I think we know how that worked out for him, not very well. Unlike Adolf the Bug would live on for many decades to come and much like him have a colt following that lives on today. This 1968 Beetle, Bug, or people mover is a notable example of why people fell in love with these little, almost indestructible cars. Sporting its flashy red paint and accented with those classic chrome bumpers it gets as many looks as cars twice its price. The roof rack with its stained wood gives it an original classic look. The matching deck lid rack only adds to the appeal. Under that deck lid a brand new, not rebuilt, 1600CC engine is tucked away making this a great candidate for your teen’s first car. Open the doors and you will notice the classic interior is in very good condition. Yet still the part that gets me is this car is a radio delete car. If you go underneath the car you will notice that the floorboards are spotless. Unlike many VW’s that have anything from house siding to stop signs these floorboards are original to the car. The original owner’s manual and toolkit are in the trunk something else you rarely see with one of these beauties. If you have been thinking about getting a great classic car that will always be in style or classic that is a blast to drive but doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to do so this little piece of history will be a perfect fit. Options on this 1968 Volkswagen Beetle include; Vinyl Interior, Seat Belts, Hubcaps, and Radial Tires. This 1968 Volkswagen Bug is for sale in our Louisville Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD Video at www.gatewayclassiccars.com. For additional information please call our knowledgeable staff at (812)294-1555 or email us at Louisville@GatewayClassicCars.com. The Volkswagen Beetle, officially the Volkswagen Type 1, was designed in the mid 1930’s but only produced in significant numbers after WWII. The original 1100cc air-cooled engine was rated at 25hp – good for about 62mph on the Autobahn! By 1954, an additional 2mm was added to the cylinder bore. This combined with a redesign of the crankshaft and helped the 1200cc mill produce 36 hp. The instrument panel was revised in 1958 in addition to modifications of the rear window to rectangular from oval. This 1959 Bug is a real charmer. The baby Blue/White vinyl combination is a classic. Everything is just right on the interior from the instrument cluster to the steering wheel and push-button radio. Crank down the windows and hit the beach in style! This cool 1959 Beetle is located at our Milwaukee showroom. You can view this cool vehicle in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com.
