The Atlanta Showroom is offering this 1972 MG MGB GT. This MG has been given a rebuild on the engine and transmission about 1000 miles ago by OFI classics. The 1800 engine and 5 speed transmission work well and will show you what British motor cars are all about. They are fun and get you connected to the road and the experience. The fixed-roof MGB GT was introduced in October 1965. Production continued until 1980, although export to the US ceased in 1974. The MGB GT sported a ground-breaking greenhouse designed by Pininfarina and launched the sporty "hatchback" style. By combining the sloping rear window with the rear deck lid, the B GT offered the utility of a station wagon while retaining the style and shape of a coupe. This new configuration was a 2+2 design with a right-angled rear bench seat and far more luggage space than in the roadster. Relatively few components differed, although the MGB GT did receive different suspension springs and anti-roll bars and a different windscreen which was more easily and inexpensively serviceable. Although acceleration of the GT was slightly slower than that of the roadster, owing to its increased weight, top speed improved by 5 mph to 105 mph because of better aerodynamics. Options include: Seat belts, radial tires, and vinyl interior, aluminum wheels and cloth interior. 1949 MG YT Tourer

1949 MG YT Tourer

Engine: 1250cc 4 cylinder
Transmission: 4-Speed Manual
Mileage: 1,946 ( undocumented )

For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a very rare 1949 MG YT 2DR Tourer Convertible. Only 904 YT’s were built for export to the United States from 1947 to 1950. The MG YT Touring Convertible has 2 doors and seats 4 passengers. The interior features leather upholstery and wood grain accents, which was much more refined than the earlier MG T-Series sports cars. The YT utilizing the same engine as the TC, a 1250cc 4 cylinder, but with a higher compression and two 1 BBL carburetors producing 54.4 horsepower and 64 lb-ft of torque. The MG YT cars used rack and pinion steering, which was a rarely seen option for a car in America at the time. The independent front suspension setup features unequal length A-arms and coil springs to provide valuable feedback to the driver. Also standard were drum brakes and 16 inch wheels on all four corners. The chassis on the YT utilized a steel ladder frame, it was often and incorrectly said to be made of wood. What was made of wood, most of which was oak, was the framework on which the bodywork was hung. This YT body is finished in light beige with metallic brown fenders, and a dark brown cloth convertible top. The exterior color combination beautifully matches the beige leather interior with dark brown piping throughout. The odometer reads 1,946, but the actual mileage is unknown. Options for this 1949 MG YT 2DR Tourer Convertible include: Leather Upholstery, Manual Convertible Top, Wide White Wall Bias Ply Tires, and Hub Caps.
