We offer this 1939 Chevrolet Deluxe Sedan. Well you can throw your ideas of staying out of sight right out the window if you take this 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe 2-door sedan home with you. Bright orange paint, flames, a rumbling stroker motor, and all the other stuff that makes hot rods awesome is standard equipment. If you like the look, you're going to love the ride. Over $25,000 was spent on the paint and interior on this car and it shows. The '39 Chevys were always attractive cars, and with a few minor tweaks, this one takes on a slick hot-rod look that's impeccably smooth. The all-steel body did not require major surgery to get to its current astounding condition, just a lot of time invested in the details. Plus block sanding... lots and lots of block sanding. The bright orange paint has a bunch of pearl in it, so there's a glow to it when the light hits it just right, and the incredible flames are so intricate and detailed that they probably took two weeks to paint all by themselves. You'll note that much of the trim was shaved, and the flames lick around the side trim which is still in place, just painted to match the body. The grille appears stock but is actually a fabricated piece that simulates the classic 1939 Chevy V-shaped grille, giving it an updated, smooth look. The windshield was Vee'd, the running boards painted body color and treated to their own flame job, and discreet side mirrors were fitted to the doors. Other smooth tricks include a flush-mounted fuel-filler door and the low-mounted taillights where the bumper used to life. The stunning interior is well beyond your usual hot rod fare, incorporating low-back buckets and more flames to great effect. The tan leatherette upholstery feels upscale and supple, and the modern buckets are all-day comfortable. They brought the orange paint inside, but in small doses so it feels cohesive without being overwhelming, and the custom-made dashboard is absolutely beautiful with its cream-colored gauges. A/C was artfully incorporated into the dash and a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo uses speakers in the custom center console and rear deck to deliver sound. A full-width back seat means this is a family-friendly rod and with a sizeable trunk in back, feel free to hit the road in style. Cruising is effortless, but this Chevy is also downright fast thanks to a 383 cubic inch small block which has been dressed in lots of chrome. The coordination with the bodywork is evident and they really went the extra mile to make it look right, hood up or hood down. Equipment like a 4-barrel carburetor and block-hugger headers help the fast-revving stroker motor build horsepower and with a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, it's plenty punchy around town. The chassis was reinforced and upgraded with a Mustang II front suspension with rack-and-pinion steering, while out back there's a Ford 9-inch on leaf springs with a beefy sway bar. Disc brakes at all four corners are a sensible upgrade and with new ball joints and shocks in 2011, it rides and drives superbly. 15-inch American Racing wheels polished up nicely and wear 195/60/15 front and fat 225/70/15 rear performance radials. Well-built and not too radical to drive across the country, this very cool '39 Chevy makes a compelling argument for full-sized rods. PPG passion red paint dresses up the exterior and would make any Ferrari owner jealous. When you get up close you’ll notice a lot of the other custom touches, like the new oak bed and color matched separator strips. The cockpit has been restored to retain it’s original look and feel while still improving some of the drivability of the pickup. VDO vintage-style lighted gauges with a custom powder insert have been added. Sporting tan vinyl with red accents is the newly covered bench seat that is original to the pickup. One of the greatest features that this pickup has is the 5-speed Borg Warner manual transmission that allows you to comfortably cruise no matter what the speed. In front of the transmission is the 235 cubic inch inline 6-cylinder that has been rebuilt and outfitted with dual carburetors, an Offendhauser intake and Fenton dual exhaust. For suspension the pickup utilizes a mustang II front end as well as front and rear sway bars. Keeping with the upgraded performance of this pickup are the 4 wheels disc brakes along with a rebuilt Ford Explorer differential. Freshly-minted and now for sale in our Houston showroom is this spectacular all-steel 1938 Chevrolet Coupe. Cloaked in a stellar Porsche Guards Red PPG finish, this is one for all ages. The restoration started with the steel body shell, and a Superior Glass Works Chassis, with fully boxed steel frame rails. Everything was taken to bare metal before any finish work was begun. A new LS3 crate motor was installed, with a FAST intake and FAST fuel rails. A set of coated shorty headers and a full stainless 2.5” exhaust setup, complete with stainless X-pipe, scavenges the spent fuel to the rear with a throaty burble. To the aft of the beefy powerplant, a new 6L80E 6-speed automatic transmission with a 3200RPM stall torque converter to aid in providing excellent launches. The 6-speed auto provides excellent highway cruising capabilities, with surprisingly efficient operation. There are two dual finned-aluminum transmission coolers for the tranny to help it keep it at optimum temperature during spirited driving. Controlling the 6L80E’s shifts is a Corvette-style shifter, complete with electronic paddle-shift control capabilities on the gear knob. You’ll feel comfortable knowing that you can drive this thing like its sportscar powertrain wants you to, with handling and ride to match. The front end is a complete Heidts SupeRide II independent front suspension, with tubular upper and lower control arms, sway bar, QA1 adjustable coil-over shocks, 12” Wilwood disk brakes and calipers, and a power rack and pinion steering setup. Out back are QA1’s, a triangulated 4-bar link setup, torsion-style sway bar, an all-new quick-change Currie Ford 9” rear end and third member with 2.75:1 gears and a True-Track limited slip differential, and 11” Wilwood disk brakes and calipers complete with E-brake. The power-assisted braking setup is also equipped with a proportioning valve, allowing for fine-tuning the front/rear braking balance. A set of Nitto performance radials (215/50-17 front, 235/65-17 rear) wrapped around American Racing Salt Flat Special 5-hole wheels help keep this retro-rod stuck to the pavement. Inside this modernized classic, you’ll find that all the chrome trim shines like it’s brand new, and it is abundant. From the chrome window surrounds, windshield and rear window trim, to the door and window levers, everything glistens. There are a few hidden secret gems, too: the chrome window cranks don’t move – a light touch upward will raise the power windows, and a similar light touch will lower them. Equipped with what seems to be power everything, this car has plenty of creature comforts that one wouldn’t expect in a vintage auto. Power windows, power locks, a trick Painless “Phantom Key” Keyless Ignition with a proximity-sensing key fob (which provides a very cool pushbutton start and is part of the security system), custom Vintage Air system with billet nozzles, and power seats with 8-way adjustability and lumbar support cover most of the features, but not all. In addition, there is a Bluetooth compatible audio system that has near audiophile sound, USB ports on the console, cupholders, LED interior (and exterior) lighting, and tilt steering wheel all add up to providing a supremely comfortable, modern-feeling ride. The tinted glass all around help the Vintage Air system keep things cold in the summer, and toasty in those colder months (for when you can’t wait to drive this beauty until Spring). And, you’ll want to drive this car year-round, because when you’re in the cabin, the smell of the custom furniture-grade leather is intoxicating. This superb leather covers nearly everything including the headliner, and it provides such a pleasant aroma that it will make Bentley and Rolls owners jealous. If you do get caught in the rain, the 2-speed electric windshield wipers will keep your forward vision clear, and the powerful LED head- and tail-lights will keep the road lit (and keep you visible). For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1957 Chevrolet 210 Hardtop. This sweet little 210 is powered by a 327 small block Chevy and backed by a manual 4-speed transmission. Power is sent to a stock '57 rear end housing a set of 3.36:1 rear gears allowing for fun around town yet still very highway worthy. The paint is base coat clear coat Quasar Blue Metallic, is roughly 2-3 years old, is still looking great and right at home on this '57 210. Inside you'll find a stock appearing interior with correct 210 seats. Most restorations seem to lean towards Bel Air interiors regardless if they’re Bel Airs or not. The 210 looks just as good and is in an Ivory and Charcoal color scheme that goes quite well with the Quasar Blue Metallic. Miles are showing 73,010 and are believed to be original. Modern upgrades include an aluminum radiator to help dissipate heat and keep the engine running cool. Adding to the aluminum radiator is an electric cooling fan. These electric fans are very good to have during any summer parade or stuck in traffic where the clutch fan isn't spinning fast enough to keep things cool. Brakes are original style drums and are brand new. An Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold helps breath cool air into the heads and an Edelbrock carburetor supplies the fuel. Edelbrock has sure made a name for themselves over the years and this easy to use carburetor solidifies their great reputation.
