The Atlanta Showroom is offering this 1984 Mercury Cougar Tiffany Classic. In the 80’s, the state of car manufacturing was pretty dismal. Most vehicles with a few exceptions, were low powered and unremarkably styled. People with flare clamored for more, and Tiffany Motor company answered. What are the most notable features of the models of these Tiffany classics? These cars were among the most technically advanced vehicles available in the market during the 80s. They were equipped with advanced features like power sunroofs, carriage opera roofs, fog lamps. Automatic deeming mirrors etc. The designers working at Tiffany made sure that the car’s interior attracts the buyers. They used pure leather for the doing the upholstery of the comfortable seats of the car. An exclusive trim of these series of Tiffany cars were also launched by the company; it was referred to as the Tiffany Elite. The Tiffany Elite cars came with gold plated grilles, luggage racks equipped with trunk straps made from high quality leather, power moon roofs etc. What are the other highlights of these car models manufactured by Tiffani Cars? There are many and it’s hard to mention all the features at one go. It can be said that the cars of this series were among the most advanced vehicles available during the 80s due to features like high end air conditioning, cruise control, wheelbase of 145 inches, gas tank with capacity of holding a up to 25 gallons of fuel etc. Options include: Power Brakes, Radial Tires, A/C, Wire Wheels, Leather Interior, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, White Wall tires. Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to present this 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. We all dreamed about finding a “unicorn” car. A car so rare it sends the collector car world into a frenzy. There are very few cars that call mass hysteria. The ones that come to mind are the 1966 Shelby Cobra twin-turbocharged “Super Snake” (2 made 1 survivor) or a “Dodge Daytona”, another limited production car. If you can locate one of these cars, they bring six and seven figures in the collector car world. So, if these cars are bringing in that kind of money and are cars people know existed, then what value would you put on a car that never was supposed to exist? This brings me to the term “ghost”, or “phantom” car. These cars are vehicles that were never supposed to leave the manufacture for one reason or another. In this particular case, Chevrolet completely shut down the 1963 Corvette Grand Sport program deeming it against the corporate racing policy. There are five confirmed early Grand Sport’s, with talks of a sixth that has never been verified. In the early days of race car and muscle car production, manufactures were known to send parts and cars out the “backdoor.” What are we dealing with here when talking about this 1963 Chevrolet Grand Sport? This car was purchased from the previous owner who owned it for 37 years. The current owner bought the car in pieces and is responsible for presenting it now as a finished car. The previous owner resided in Michigan and started collecting parts to return the car back to its glory days. Once health issues started settling in, he was forced to move on from the Vette. The previous owner stated the car had its tubular frame replaced, which I’m assuming was due to rot. Once the current owner acquired the car in pieces, he began a journey along with a GM specialist, to restore the “Grand Sport” back to its hay day. After a long, extensive restoration period, the car is done in white exterior and red interior. You can see right off there are some very telling signs that this Grand Sport Vette is not one of the 5 or 6 that were raced. It shows newer style seats and reproduction wheels. It does have the cross-ram racing intake with the Weber carburetors. It also has a 1963 casting number block, and a 200 mile per hour speedometer. You’re correct, that’s not enough to say this is possibly a “Real” Grand Sport 1963 Corvette. The absolute two most important attributes of this car are its VIN and the TITLE. The VIN number reads S0837X10008 and the TITLE matches. All of the experts are sure about what this car is until it comes to one question they can’t explain. How does this car have that VIN number and a matching title? The experts have said this is an authentic Chevrolet VIN plate. So… if it is a “real” 1963 Chevrolet Corvette displaying characteristics that only the Grand Sport Vette VIN plates had, then technically this would be a real 1963 Chevrolet Grand Sport, right? The owner also states this is a Numbers Matching 327 engine, and 4-speed manual transmission. Is this a “unicorn”? A mythical car that somehow made its way out of the backdoor of the GM plant. That would explain why documentation is virtually non-existent. Options include Vinyl Interior, Kill Switch, Aluminum/Alloy Wheels, and Weber 42 Carb System. Engine: 327 CID V8Transmission: 4-Speed ManualMileage: 32,694 ( actual )
For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a Saddle Tan over Saddle Tan 1963 Chevrolet Corvette. The 63’ “Split Window” Corvette coupe is one of the most iconic, and sough after of all the Corvettes. This 3 owner Corvette sat for over ten years before the complete restoration took place in 1983. True it is an older restoration, but this 63’ Corvette is in very good condition. The Saddle Tan exterior paint, which is more like metallic gold, still shines beautifully. The Saddle Tan leather interior is also in good condition, free from any rips, tears, or signs of wear. Powering this split window Corvette is a 327 CID V8 engine that produces nearly 400 horsepower and has traveled a little over 500 miles since it was installed in 1983. A 4-speed manual transmission transfers the power to the IRS and to the pavement. This split-window Corvette for sale is a rare gem, with just over 10,000 produced in 1963. Built to compete with foreign sports cars, this Corvette shed some weight and gained some beautiful curves, adding much more excitement to the daily commute! Known as the "mid-year" Corvette, the C2 was produced from 1963 to 1967, a relatively short run when considering other generations of the Corvette. The odometer reads 32,694, which represents the actual mileage on the car. Options for this 1963 Chevrolet Corvette include: AM/FM Radio, Leather Interior, Seat Belts, White Wall Bias Ply Tires, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. If you're looking for a rare collector’s piece, an iconic piece of American sports car history, or simply a fun driving cruiser to take down to the local show that will drop jaws, this 63 Corvette split-window is more than eager to please! For sale in our Tampa showroom is one of the most iconic cars of all time, a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. This breathtaking 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air has been restomoded to bring the best of the past and the present together. Inside the beautiful engine bay of this Bel Air is an LS1 engine that is connected to a 4L60 Transmission. The LS1 is cooled by an aluminum Griffin radiator and breathes though a short ram air intake. All of that LS power is no good without the ability to tame it, so this Bel Air stops quickly using hydroboost power wildwood disk brakes in all four corners. Power steering helps you be able to turn the wheel with nothing more but a finger. The exterior has been laid down in a beautiful two-tone orange and light cream color. You can really tell the time was taken while this automobile was painted. 18 inch Foose wheels fit over the massive brakes and wrap the whole exterior into one amazing package. The undercarriage is in the same clean shape as the exterior. Once you look inside you will notice the newly covered seats, carpet, headliner and gauges. New paint adorns the steering wheel and dash. The retro sound stereo will keep the tunes pumping while you cruise this beauty to any destination. For those of you in hot climates don’t fret as this 55 Bel Air comes with air conditioning. Engine: 302 V8Transmission: 5 Speed ManualMileage: 67,478 ( since rebuilt )
For sale in our Tampa showroom is this awesome 1964 Mercury Comet. This beast is powered by a Ford 302 V8 Engine that includes a holly carb, MSD ignition and ford racing valve covers. It’s even got hood pins to keep the beast behind closed doors. Don’t be fooled by the 4-speed shift knob as this Comet has a 5-speed transmission that turns 3.08 posi traction gears. This Mercury is set up to handle great with a new front coil spring suspension. The white exterior is complemented greatly by the chrome Riddler wheels that really gleam in the sunlight. The interior is stitched up in an awesome black and burgundy combination that makes the inside as much of a head turner as the outside of the vehicle. Don’t worry about keeping cool as this Comet has a new vintage air system. The odometer is only showing 67,478 miles. This body style comet has a lot of history behind it starting in 1964 the Comet was redesigned with a much more square shape, though it was still built on the same unibody as the 1963 model. Its basic lines were shared with the new Falcon, but the front grille used styling similar to that of the Lincoln Continental. Along with the redesign, the model designations were changed. The performance version was known as the Cyclone, replacing the previous S-22. Then in descending order of trim levels were the Caliente, 404 and 202, replacing the previous Custom and base models. The 2-door station wagon body style was discontinued. The top-of-the-line station wagon continued to be known as the Villager. The base 144 cid six engine was dropped and the 170 cid six became the new base engine. The 260 V8 was available at the beginning of the production run, with the new 289 being available mid-year. Due to the success of the full size Ford and Mercury "fastback" roofline introduced in mid-1963, the Falcon and Comet 2-door hardtops got a similar roofline with sharper corners. These vehicles really helped pave the way for the muscle car era that was about to begin in the United States of America.
