Now I am not going to try to convince you that the lady who owns this 1965 Mustang Fastback for sale only drove it to Church at 10 miles below the speed limit, in fact, I believe she used every pony under the hood and I am sure she straightened out a couple of curves and scared many squirrels. 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback

Engine: 331 Stroker
Transmission: TKO 600
Mileage: 1936 ( since rebuilt )

This 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 2+2 is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The 65 Fastback was an instant success as soon as it went on sale. With the know how of a guy named Carrol Shelby the car would be great track weapon and helped to propel the fastback to legendary status. People still today love the lines and the relatively small size of these cars making them perfect candidates for some serious performance upgrades. This 65 is a great example of exactly that keeping the body lines and simply pumping up the performance aspect. The red paint is clean and shows very well with the white strip right above the rockers breaking up the red nicely. The scoop on the hood helps to give the car that aggressive look. The Magnum 500 Wheels are classic Mustang and finish off the exterior of this 2+2 nicely. Under the hood is a recently built 331 stroker motor that only has 1000 miles since being built. A full roller motor this is an engine that will last. The Comp cam is the perfect mix of bottom end grunt while having a nice top end pull. The Trick Flow aluminum heads are a great set and really allow this small block to perform at its best. Exhaust gas is taken out through the headers and into dual 2.5” pipes all the way back allowing for a nice and deep sound. Backing up that 331 is another top of the line component, a TKO 600 allowing for complete control. The Moser 9” rear-end with a true-trac diff allows for nice smoky burnouts. The Cal-trac monoleaf springs and traction bars help to place the power on the ground while stiffening up the rear. When you have the ability to go this fast you need to be able to stop as well. The 4-wheel Wilwood set up has that part taken care of allowing for aggressive stops with very little pedal fade. Inside the seller has went with an original style interior with a couple custom touches. The dash has been built and installed using AFR gauges with a very straight forward layout. The shifter is in the perfect spot with the E-brake moved to a handbrake position. If you have been wanting to get into a great looking 65 Fastback that performs just as good this red 2+2 is the car for you. Options on this 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 2+2 include; AM Radio, Spare Tire and Jack, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Posi-Traction, and Alloy Wheels with Radial Tires. Engine: 289 HiPo
Transmission: 4-Speed Manual
Mileage: 33696 ( undocumented )

For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2, aka Fastback. This beautiful Ivy Green 4-speed car has recently undergone a detailed restoration. During the restoration the A code 289 engine was built to Hi Po (K-code) specs with the addition of roller rockers. Adding roller rockers to an already amazing engine is a recipe for further greatness. Backed up by a 4-speed manual just makes this car that much more fun! The Ivy green paint shines like new, the black vinyl interior also looks new and is very comfortable. Inside you'll also notice a set of Rally Pack gauges atop the steering column and a center console. The dash pad looks new and is free of any cracks or wrinkles as is the headliner that fits tightly. The gauge cluster has been swapped out for a '66 gauge cluster. Some prefer the circular gauges as opposed to the sweeping speedo from a '65. Adding to the exterior are White Mustang rocker panel stripes, Magnum 500 wheels, GT fog lights and GT trumpet exhaust tips. Other notable features are the front disc brakes and power steering that aids in easy maneuvering. A lot of these were equipped with four wheel drums which can be a bit frightening at times. This is a very well sorted '65 Fastback that is ready for some new adventures. For more information, call 618-271-3000 or swing by our St. Louis showroom. 1965 Ford Mustang

Engine: 289 CID
Transmission: Automatic

The year is 1965, Racing driver Jim Clark wins the Indianapolis 500, and later wins the Formula One world driving championship in the same year. While this gorgeous Ford Mustang rolls off the assembly line, trying to keep up with the demand of the public. Now recently rebuilt starting with the 289 V8, A/C, power steering, backed by an automatic transmission, digital dash, vinyl interior. Lee Iacocca's assistant general manager and chief engineer, Donald N. Frey was the head engineer for the T-5 project—supervising the overall development of the car in a record 18 months—while Iacocca himself championed the project as Ford Division general manager. The T-5 prototype was a two-seat, mid-mounted engine roadster. This vehicle employed the German Ford Taunus V4 engine. It was claimed that the decision to abandon the two-seat design was in part due to the increase in sales the Thunderbird had seen when enlarged from a two-seater to a 2+2 in 1958. Thus, a four-seat car with full space for the front bucket seats, as originally planned, and a rear bench seat with significantly less space than was common at the time, were standard. A "Fastback 2+2", first manufactured on August 17, 1964, enclosed the trunk space under a sweeping exterior line similar to the second series Corvette Sting Ray and European sports cars such as the Jaguar E-Type coupe. Favorable publicity articles appeared in 2,600 newspapers the next morning, the day the car was "officially" revealed. A Mustang convertible also appeared in the James Bond film Goldfinger in September 1964 To view the car in greater detail, including an HD video and 100+ HD pictures please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com or our Denver showroom. 1967 Ford Galaxie

Engine: V8 Big Block
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 85148 ( undocumented )

Available now in our DFW Showroom is this impressive 1967 Ford Galaxie! Period advertisements boasted that the Ford Galaxie 500 was quieter than a Rolls-Royce, which was their way of boasting about how well the engineers had done in isolating the new frame from the new body. The reasons for this were practical enough, it was the first year since 1956 that the Ford and Mercury full-sized cars again shared their essential architecture, basic frame and basic body structures (with variations), in a bid to increase profitability. The 1967 version of the Galaxie was reskinned, which produced new two-door hardtop/fastback rooflines. The LTD variant now shared the two-door roofline, but the rear side glass shape was altered for a more formal appearance, and technically speaking, LTD became a series of its own this year. This Ford Galaxie underwent a full restoration in 2008, at this time the motor was rebuilt along with the transmission too. The black and red interior, including matching dash, really stands out. Especially with the word “Galaxie” stitched on both the passenger and driver side bench seat and “Ford” in the backseat. It is also equipped with a set of Boston-acoustic speakers. Which can really help you hear the tunes as you’re flying around in this vehicle, windows down and wind in your hair. What is it that’s creating that wind? No folks, that’s not just a 390 decal on the side, that’s what this bad boy comes with, a rebuilt 390CID-315HP 4BBL, with a 4-speed manual transmission. No question, it was made to get you where you’re going in a hurry. Finally, all this is riding around on a quality set of American Racing Wheels.
