For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a beautiful Golden Rod Yellow 1955 Ford Thunderbird. This Amos Minter (of Minter’s Thunderbird in Dallas) restored 55’ T-Bird looks absolutely fantastic. Open the hood and you will see the original 292 CID 4BBL V8 engine that was rebuilt and restored to like new condition. The Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission was also rebuilt and shifts beautifully. The black and yellow interior shows very well with very little signs of usage. This is a highly optioned interior including the 4-way power seat and telescopic steering wheel. The AM radio and gauges were all rebuilt and function as they should. The 6-volt system is gone, in its place is a more modern and preferred 12-volt system. The rarely seen Golden Rod Yellow paint shines beautifully and stands proud against the gleaming brightwork on this 55’ T-Bird. The underside is just as clean and shows the detail of this quality restoration. The hard top is painted to match the body, while the soft top is black vinyl. You have the possibility of 3 different looks, yellow hard top, black vinyl top, or no top at all! The odometer reads 464, which represents the actual mileage put on the car since the restoration was complete. Options for this 1955 Ford Thunderbird include: AM Radio, Telescopic Steering Wheel, Manual Convertible Top (Hard and Soft Top included), Power Seats, Vinyl Interior, Power Steering, Firestone Wide White Wall Bias Ply Tires, and Kelsey Hayes Wire Wheels. Engine: 396 Chevy 6-71 BlowerTransmission: TH-350Mileage: 0 ( undocumented )
For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a one of a kind 1955 Ford Thunderbird. This is not your grandfather's T-Bird. Power comes from a Chevy 396 Big Block and a 6-71 Blower! Yes that's right, a blown big block Chevy in a T Bird. Certainly enough power for this lightweight. The body is fiberglass and it has a narrowed rear end plus a Mustang II front end. Power is sent to the rear wheels via TH-350 automatic, Ford 9" and 3.55 gears. Front disc brakes will slow you down in a hurry. In addition to this wild build, it is also equipped with Power windows, radio and a Power trunk lid. The looks of this Thunderbird will draw a crowd from anywhere. Bright red, convertible, blower sticking out of the hood and fat Mickey Thompson tires out back. Of course if you don't see this car coming, you'll hear it! It's not too loud but will certainly let you know that it means business. The rumble from the Big block and the whine from the blower, yes that will do it. Inside is a stock Thunderbird bench seat, modified gauges, switches for the electric fuel pump, electric cooling fan, ignition and a power cutoff in the glove box. The trunk is finished nicely and features a fuel cell in between he rear tubs for the giant rear wheels. Top up or top down, this is a fun car. For those of you that like the look of the old Thunderbirds but need double the power, look no further, as this one belongs in your garage. Call our St. Louis showroom for more information on this Blown T-Bird or stop by for a closer look. To view HD photos and video, visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com

Thank you for your interest in this beautiful 1955 Ford Thunderbird presented by Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa. One of the most beautiful pieces of Americana, they were considered to be direct competition to the Chevrolet Corvette. Helping spawn a new generation of automobiles in the United States, and aimed to take on the European market, the Ford Thunderbird was powered by a 292 CID V8, which gave the already smaller, lighter car the power it needed to make for both an excellent road racer as well as the perfect car for older couples to sit back and enjoy a movie at the drive-in. Mated to the engine is a 2-speed automatic transmission, which allowed the car for fairly smooth shifting, but in the higher gear allowed the vehicle to cruise at highway speeds without drinking too much gas. The interior of this car is a beautiful red and white two tone seating, with red carpets throughout. The hard-top is painted in white to give the car a two-tone look. Take the top off to enjoy the beautiful weather in absolute style! The exterior is painted to match the interior, with a stunning bright red paint job with a new black top that really gives the car a high quality 1950's kind of feel. Driving a 1955 Ford Thunderbird is truly an experience one simply cannot explain, these cars are the truest form of Americana one can find. Options include AM Radio, Hub Caps, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Wide White Walls, Wire Wheels, Power Steering, Power Brakes and Power seat. For sale in our Saint Louis Showroom is this first generation Ford Thunderbird. The Ford Thunderbird began life in February 1953 in direct response to Chevrolet's new sports car, the Corvette. Production of the Thunderbird began later on in 1954 on September 9 with the car beginning sales as a 1955 model on October 22, 1954 and sold exceptionally well in its first year; outselling theCorvette by more than 23-to-one for 1955 with 16,155 Thunderbirds sold against 700 Corvettes. With the Thunderbird considered a success, a few changes were made to the car for 1956. The most notable change was moving the spare tire to a continental-style rear bumper in order to make more storage room in the trunk and a new 12 volt electrical system. You'll be happy to hear that this low (actual) mileage classic Thunderbird has been held by the same family for nearly three decades and was stored for most of that time. The interior and body was repainted in 2016, but these are still the original panels, engine, and interior components. The smooth drive of one of Ford's most beautiful designs is a standard 312 cu in (5.1 L) V8 that was engineered to produce 245 horsepower (183 kW). With its classic look, colors, lines, white-wall tires, and low body, this Thunderbird is a great find and will a its next owner very proud to have and to hold onto. For sale in our Fort Lauderdale showroom is this beautiful 1956 Ford Thunderbird. The first generation of the Thunderbird was Ford’s answer to Chevrolet’s Corvette. The Tbird story started in 1953 on paper and Ford showed the first prototype in early 1954. Even though it was a rapid development Ford did a fantastic job and today the early Thunderbirds are on top of the list of almost every car enthusiast in the world. This particular 1956 Ford Thunderbird is a very nice driver. Lady owned for the past 10 years and she took good care of her “Baby Bird” Olivia. For many people the cars from the 50’s are considered a piece of art. It is a pleasure to just walk around this turquoise Thunderbird and see the many details and the great craftmanship. After the walk around, you want to get in the drivers seat and take off in it. This Tbird is powered by its 292ci V8 engine and shifted by an automatic transmission. You will have a good time driving this one around town. A major plus is that the car comes with both tops, the port hole hardtop and a soft top. To put an additional soft top in an early Thunderbird would cost you between $4000 and $5000. Folks, this one has it already folded up behind the bench seat. The continental kit and the white wall tires are a perfect fit to the Bird. This is a great buy if you are not looking to spent a fortune on one.
