For sale in our Chicago showroom is this beastly 1971 Chevrolet Corvette. Powered by what is believed to be the original LS-5 454 big block Chevrolet V8 engine factory rated at 365 horsepower, this fiberglass performance machine is a rocket. With a 4-speed manual transmission, you are always able to get yourself right in the sweet spot for making power. That LS-5 under the hood didn’t stay at 365 horsepower, however. In 2007 this Corvette went through a full restoration, and that included a tear down of the big block to pump a bit more thump into it. It was bored .030” over and given a set of blueprinted oval port iron heads to maximize flow.

True Corvette fans will note the strange color combination. One of today’s most popular colors, black, was never optioned in the ’71 model year. This vehicle was originally painted Ontario Orange with a Saddle interior. The restorer of the vehicle wanted to have an original big block car with black paint and blue interior, but it didn’t exist, so he made his own! During the restoration and entirely new fuel system, including gas tank and lines, were installed as well as a new ignition system and an overhaul on the A/C system. All of that work totaled north of $60,000 in receipts, and it shows. As one would expect, with all of that work this ‘Vette drives like a dream; plenty of power, smooth road feel, and easy to drive.

This completely restored Corvette is beauty and the beast. It would look just as good sitting in a showroom in an aggressive pose to been shown off to friends and family as it would ripping through downtown after sunset showing the younger crowd what muscle really means. Options include: Air-Conditioning, AM/FM, T-Tops, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Leather Interior, Radial Tires and Alloy Wheels. 1971 Chevrolet Corvette

1971 Chevrolet Corvette

Engine: ZZ 383 Stroker
Transmission: Tremec 5 Speed
Mileage: 2,957 ( since rebuilt )

This 1971 Chevrolet Corvette is for sale in our Louisville KYT showroom. Road racing has long been a part of American car culture for not only showing what companies could do but just for the sheer fun. The 60’s and 70’s would see one of the biggest booms in the sport with Lemans and the T/A series finding plenty of fans. The sport would eventually fade away after Car manufactures began to focus on fuel economy and safety instead of performance. This example is true to that heritage and was built to look and perform as such. Probably the first thing you notice on this 71 is the headlights. Like racecars of that time the hole light assembly ahs been removed with a Lemans style piece put in its place that not only looks sportier but shaves quite a few ponds off. The front has a bottom spoiler to help with down force, but you have to admit looks pretty darn good. The paint job is fitting with the company logos being nothing more than vinyl decals that can be removed if you don’t like the look. The racing components is what really separates this road course weapon from the rest. The Bilstein shocks are race ready with the tubular control arms, fiberglass leaf springs, and lowered stance all add to the carving capability’s. The Steeroids rack and pinion steering is one of the most precise setups sold for these cars eliminating any of the see saw motion in the wheel. Under the L88 hood is a 383 stroker motor from GM’s very successful ZZ line. The huge cam and a great tune has this small block pumping out A massive 500+HP. The tremec 5 speed handles the power nicely with the built rear end having 650HP half shafts. The 3.55 gears give the perfect mix of acceleration and top end grunt. The bucket seats inside are exactly what you need if you are thinking about trying to use the car to its full potential. The 4-point cage adds rigidity to the chassis while giving a level of protection with the 4-point harness’ keep you in place. The dash on the car has been taken out with a more race car friendly layout taking its place. The removable steering wheel allows for more room when getting in and out of the car and another item that you would expect to see in a car of this nature. The 200MPH speedometer as well as an MSD REV limiter that even has a 2 step. If you have been wanting a race car that can be driven to the track, run some hot laps around the road course and then driven back home in confidence this 71 Corvette fits the bill. Options on this 1971 Corvette include, Power Windows, Power Brakes, Cloth Interior, Seat Belts, T Tops, and Radial Tires with Alloy Wheels. 1960 Chevrolet Impala

1960 Chevrolet Impala

Engine: 283 CID V8
Transmission: 2-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 18,176 ( actual )

Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this gorgeous 1960 Chevrolet Impala! This is no ordinary Impala. This is a true survivor car. The 283 CID V8 engine is the original that was put in the car in the factory when it was being put together. Covering only 18,176 miles since it first drove off the showroom floor all those years ago. Amazingly, the paint on this car has the original undercoat on it! Even the original AM radio in the car works as it should. This is part of a two-model-year run for the second generation of the much-loved Impala. The 1959 Chevrolet Impala was redesigned. Sharing bodyshells with lower-end Buicks and Oldsmobiles as well as with Pontiac, part of a GM economy move, the Chevrolet's wheelbase was 1-1/2 inches longer. Using a new X-frame chassis, the roof line was three inches lower, bodies were two inches wider, and curb weight increased. Its tailfins protruded outward, rather than upward. The taillights were a large "teardrop" design at each side, and two slim-wide nonfunctional front air intake scoops were added just above the grille, The Impala became a separate series, adding a four-door hardtop and four-door sedan, to the two-door Sport Coupe and convertible. Sport Coupes featured a shortened roof line and wrap-over back window. Standard were front and rear armrests, an electric clock, dual sliding sun visors, and crank-operated front vent windows. A contoured hooded instrument panel held deep-set gauges. A six-way power seat was a new option, as was "Speed minder", for the driver to set a needle at a specific speed and a buzzer would sound if the pre-set was exceeded. The 1960 Impala models reinstated three round taillights on each side, and a white band running along the rear fenders. Anyone looking at the pictures and video of this beautiful machine can clearly see why it’s a great buy. The design is timeless. Don’t wait until it’s gone to inquire. Don’t miss your chance to get behind the wheel of this one. Contact Gateway Classic Cars in Houston for more information. Financing and shipping options are available. Office hours are Monday through Saturday 9-5pm central time. The telephone number for our showroom is (832) 243-6220 or if you prefer, you can email us at houston@gatewayclassiccars.com.
