For sale in our Chicago showroom is this one of a kind 1971 Altered Dragster. Powered by a 440 cubic inch big block V8 set up in front of the driver and paired with a TH400 automatic transmission, this baby hauls! This Dragster is well known in the Chicago area, as hit has been raced at several active and not defunct drag strips in the surrounding areas. While the bones of this dragster have remained the same over the years, some changes were made for long-term reliability, safety of the driver, and to stay competitive with other vintage racers. Most recently, the 440 V8 was completely gone through prepared for a full season with about 10 test passes on it to work out any last-minute bugs.
The 440 started life as a 427, and was bored a very healthy .100” to pump up displacement. Helping take advantage of those extra cupes is a set of easy breathing Dart Pro 1 heads, a roller cam, and a massive 1050 Dominator carburetor. While a big engine is very important for making successful passes, any real racer knows the rest of the drivetrain is arguably even more important. This dragster has had the full treatment, including a 9” converter from Coan, a brand new TH400 transmission with a trans-brake, and a full Mark Williams 9” rear axle assembly sporting 4.10 gears.
With consistent runs in the low 9 second range at over 150mph in the ¼ mile, the seller is confident that a high 8 second pass is attainable in good or better conditions. This classic dragster is ready to run as it sits, of put your own custom touches on this beast and make it your own! This vehicle does NOT have a title, and cannot be driven on any road legally. For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a Pro-Touring 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible. This Pro-Touring Camaro has been fixed with modern suspension components, brakes, wheels, and driveline. Powering this 69’ Camaro is an awesome LS3 V8 engine with a Z06 cam that has been professionally tuned by Mike Norris. A 6-speed manual transmission is mated to LS3 and provides an excellent feel while shifting through the gears. A 10-bolt Posi-Trac rear end with 3.55 gears puts the power to the pavement via the 275 radial tires. The front suspension has been upgraded with tubular upper A-arms and a sway bay. Kore disc brakes adorn all four corners with a Wilwood master cylinder under the hood combining for excellent braking performance. The body and paint were restored in the late 90’s and still shine like new. The green exterior features a white pinstripe down the side, which blends with the white convertible top beautifully. The interior is all green, from the dash to the seats to the carpet. The original front seats have been replaced with killer custom Recaro leather seats that hold you in place while also providing a high comfort level. The rear bench seat is of the original vinyl style, and still match the Recaro leather very well. The odometer reads 9,650, which represents the mileage on LS3 V8 engine. The original mileage on the car is believed to be just under 100,000 miles, with almost 20,000 on the current body and paintwork. Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is proud to offer this incredible custom 1969 Pontiac GTO Restomod. This is not your average Restomod by any means. There was no expense spared in the making of this top notch GTO. The first thing you notice on this GOAT is the Inferno Orange paint finish. Done on rotisserie, this shows beautifully on the custom body work. It sits on a frame that was completely reinforced (boxed in) and painted black after being sand blasted. The black tinted windows help tie the colors in together perfectly. This car has a very serious suspension setup that has all the right parts. It has a complete performance suspension package by UMI that includes tubular control arms, and big sway bars with polyurethane bushings on the front and rear. On all four corners are QA1 fully adjustable coilovers. Steering is impressive on this with the addition of a rack and pinion steering system by Flaming River. It has a new tilt steering column with a new wheel. Braking on this beauty is supplied by a big brake package with crossed drilled and slotted rotors by Master Power Brakes. One of the most impressive parts of the car is the power plant. Inside the engine bay you will find an extremely clean, fully rebuilt LS6 engine with Performance Dart cylinder heads. This motor is force fed by a Magnuson TVS 2300 Supercharger. The engine has a complete, custom accessory drive kit finished in black ice and billet aluminum by Wegner Performance. This engine is cooled thanks to a performance radiator with dual electric fans by Dewitts. It's putting out a mind blowing 500hp and 485 ft lbs of torque on the Dyno, and it is mated to a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission, with performace clutch kit and hydraulic controls by American Powertrain. The rear end on this Inferno Orange performance car is a 12-bolt chevy rear end with limited slip differential and 3:42 gears. All of the power is kept in check via performance gauges by Auto Meter. The creature comforts and options in this car consist of everything you could possibly want. The cabin is kept cool by a Vintage Air, air conditioning kit. The interior is completely custom. This modern beast has an Android 2 Din stereo head unit with back up camera. The interior is black leather with orange stitching throughout, matching the orange exterior. This GTO has power windows, power locks, and power seats. There is a custom built center console with custom built door panels. The new carpets have dynamat insulation to keep the inside nice and quiet. The color scheme continues with orange LED illumination inside the vehicle. Outside this monster, all the lights are LED’s and the HID headlights have orange halo rings giving the GTO a mean look. When you aren’t listening to the roar of the engine, you can hear the two 6x9 Pioneer speakers on a package tray. This coupled with the 10” subwoofer box in the trunk makes for an excellent sound system. This ’69 sits on custom American Racing wheels wrapped in Continental performance tires. The wheels are 20” in the rear and 18” in the front, giving this Restomod the perfect staggered stance. You cannot reproduce the work on this car as it has so many custom touches.
