For sale in our Chicago showroom is this very rare 1987 BMW 535i. Anyone who lived through the ‘80s is probably thinking “I saw those driving all over town back in the day!” and you probably did! This one, however, was a Japanese market vehicle, of which only 1,140 were made! Powering this BMW is a 3.5l fuel injected 6 cylinder engine mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission with 3 selectable shift modes allowing for Sport, Economy, or “3-2-1” (manual) mode.
Any vehicle will see some wear and tear over the years, and this BMW is no exception, but several steps have been taken to correct the effects of time on this beauty. The front seats had parts recovered and look brand new. The roof had some spotting from the sun, so a fresh coat of bright red was applied to bring the luster back into this German gem. Much of the suspension has been overhauled, as well as the brakes, as well as new 18” wheels and tires, making this M-packaged classic drives like new!
Fire up this 3.5l straight-6 and prepare yourself for a great ride! Options include: Air-Conditioning, AM/FM/CD, Power Sunroof, Power Windows, Telescopic Wheel, Power Mirrors, Vinyl Interior, Cloth Interior, Alloy Wheels, and Radial Tires. For more information on this beautiful 1987 BMW 535i, contact our Chicago showroom at (708) 444-4488 or Chicago@GatewayClassicCars.com. This top of the line and fully loaded 1995 BMW 840Ci is now available for sale at our Gateway Classic Cars Showroom in Saint Louis, and you won't find a better well-kept BMW with this mileage and easy-to-justify price anywhere. There are no noticeable scratches, dents, tears, or odors on the exterior or in the interior of BMW. There is some slight wear on the seats, but still in remarkable condition considering that it is going on being twenty-five years old. People have wrinkles at twenty-five, so don't complain about the seats of this ultimate driving machine having a few. Calm down. Anyway, what makes this 1995 BMW 840Ci Coupe particularly interesting is its V-8 engine with a five-speed automatic transmission, versus the 850i with a V-12 powerplant and four-speed automatic, proves nearly equal performance fights, and only slightly lower horsepower and torque. The 282 horsepower 32-valve 4.0-liter aluminum V8 in the 840 was an advance piece of equipment in 1994. It utilizes double overhead cams with four-valves per cylinder, direct ignition, computerized engine management, including knock control, and electronic fuel injection. It is designed for all-day cruising at high speed. The five-speed automatic transmission is electronically controlled and has three settings: Economy, Sport, and Winter, to provide the correct amount of power to the rear wheels under any driving circumstance. The twin dual exhaust has a throaty rumble. Its body styling is noticeable and unique. The low front and wide stance are reminiscent of the M1 racing cars of the 1970's. Subtly flared fenders, styled alloy wheels and 16-inch Pirelli low profile high performance tires suggest speed in an understated way. The cabin has large expanses of tinted glass allowing for excellent vision. The front end is highlighted by the familiar BMW logo and trademark grille. Up front there are no fewer than 10 lights, including powerful pop-up headlamps. To view this 1995 BMW 840Ci Coupe in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our St. Louis Showroom. Engine: 3.5L I6 F DOHCTransmission: 5 Speed Manual w/ ODMileage: 45,782 ( actual )
For sale in our Dallas-Fort Worth showroom is this classic 1988 BMW M6. It is powered by a 3.5L/256hp inline-six engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This is a beautiful example of a rare BMW M6. Values on M6’s are constantly increasing from year to year. Currently they are still affordable but who knows how long before they become a six-figure collectible car. Engine sizes gradually increased to 3.2-liters then 3.5-liters, but the 6-Series really hit a bullseye with the M635CSi, which appeared at Frankfurt in 1983. Apart from the 282-bhp M1 engine, it had a limited-slip differential and the “track link” suspension from the big 7-Series sedans, which was designed to reduce oversteer. ABS brakes arrived at the same time, along with a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed ZF automatic. Badged simply as the BMW M6, the 635CSi finally reach the U.S. in 1987, lavishly equipped with twin air-conditioners (and a beverage chiller in the rear), hand-stitched Napa leather interior with eight-way power front seats, and an eight-speaker sound system. Distinctive M6 details included M badges front and rear, a larger front air dam and rear spoiler, and matching color side mirrors. The cars were fitted with new ellipsoid headlights, which directed a more precise beam onto the road. The M6 could manage 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds, a quarter mile in 14.7 seconds and cruised easily at 140 mph. It retailed for $55,950. BMW electronically limited even its sportiest models to 155 mph in the U.S., but Rug Cunninham BMW ran a de-limited M6 in the 1989 La Carrera Pan American race in Mexico and reported a top speed of 176 mph. In all 5,859 M 635 CSi cars were built between 1983 and 1989, with 1,787 of those being the slightly detuned U.S. model BMW M6. The Original Wheels and Exhaust are available with this vehicle. To see 100+ HD pictures and a video of this 1988 BMW M6, please visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
