For sale in our Chicago showroom is this absolutely wild 1979 Chevrolet Malibu. This Malibu is a far cry from the standard grocery-getter that Chevy was stamping out by the thousands. Powering this monster is a 454 big block V8 stroked out to 496 cubic inches backed up to a beefy TH-400 transmission sandwiching a 5000rpm stall converter. The 496 is spinning an Eagle 4340 crankshaft with Eagle H-beam rods topped with SRP 13.5:1 pistons. A pair of Pro Comp Aluminum ported heads round out the long block for a very healthy amount of power on tap. Taking care of getting air and fuel in the engine is a Victor JR intake and a 950 CFM Holley Carburetor. A custom set of Lemons Headers spew the exhaust fumes through a pair of Spintech mufflers for the sound of a beautifully orchestrated chaos.
While all of that power makes for killer sound and plenty of tire smoke, there’s more to going fast than just having power; it needs to be effectively put to the pavement. With SPC upper control arms and TRZ lower control arms working in tandem with Qa1 adjustable coil overs, this Malibu grips and rips. A Moser 12-bolt packed fill with 4.10 gears and 30-spline axles resides out back, more than capable of handling the powerplant. A custom frame was fabricated with a 4-link suspension set up to keep the Moser properly located. Making sure the body and frame stay as solid as possible, a 10-point roll cage was installed and painted black to blend in with the gorgeous interior.
The two-tone gray paint with the red stripe absolutely pops under the sun. The paint looks deep enough that you could take a dive in it and never come back out. The color scheme is tied through the seats in the interior making for a very complete and well thought out design. The seats were custom redone to match the paint! A switch panel is mounted in the redesigned dash to give the driver total control over all of the electronics of the vehicle, while a master disconnect can set the Malibu in hibernation for any extended downtime. Plenty of custom work is massaged into all aspects of this vehicle, and the hard work really paid off making for an extremely well-finished vehicle.
This 1979 Chevrolet Malibu is a very well put together car and should fill your trophy case with ease after only a few shows. Options include: Power Steering, Tilt Steering Wheel, Leather Interior, Kill Switch, Alloy Wheels, and a Posi Traction Rear Axle. Engine: 350 CID V8Transmission: 400 TurboMileage: 3,627 ( undocumented )
This 1979 Chevrolet C10 is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The C series line of trucks was extremely successful for the GM company. Though they had multiple revisions throughout its 40-year run the full-size series was one of the longest running lines in auto history. The 80’s seen a huge increase in the amount of people customizing these trucks. The mentality that a truck was just simply used for work was a thing of the past. This example has that old school custom look with the black paint showing extremely well. The Graphics on the side help to break up the paint while enhancing the step-side bed. The louvers on the hood are something that you don’t see much of anymore with many considering a lost art form. The mag wheels are in extremely clean condition with the fronts being 225/70/15’s and the rears having a much wider 295/50/15 giving the truck that aggressive look. Under the hood is a very healthy 350 small block that has plenty of power to get this American Classic down the road. The Edelbrock intake allows for more power through the mid and higher RPM range. The 12-bolt Posi Rear end has a set of 3.73 gears giving the perfect mix of down low power and high-end speed allowing for some highway cruising. The interior of the cab is clean and rather comfortable with the springs giving just the right amount of support. The headliner is custom with it having some custom molds and then covered with the matching soft cloth material. If you have been wanting a unique vehicle that is a blast to drive this great driving truck is exactly what you need. Options on this 1979 Chevy C10 include; AM/FM/Cassette, Cloth Interior, Seat Belts, Mag Wheels and Radial Tires. Engine: 454 CID V8Transmission: 4 Speed AutomaticMileage: 30,154 ( actual )
Now featured in our Denver showroom is this tastefully modified 1979 Chevrolet C10 with the same drive train that came stock almost 40 years ago! Powering this old stepside pickup truck is a 454 cubic inch V8 that has been bored .030 over and has just over 2,000 miles on the fresh rebuild. During this rebuild it received forged pistons, an RV cam, and capped off with a Holley 750 to feed this big engine. The TH400 transmission is able to transfer this power with ease to the strong 12-bolt rear end equipped with 3.73:1 gears for great off the line torque while not jeopardizing your cruising ability. This truck is not just a power house though, it has been fitted with power disc brakes on all four corners to bring it to a stop quickly and the front suspension has been upgraded to a DJM front suspension kit for a premium ride and better handling. The aftermarket front suspension paired with the power steering makes for a fun ride and out cornering most other trucks on the road! The interior has also been tastefully modified with a reupholstered seat, new dash pad, and billet inserts on the dash and gauge cluster that match the door panels nicely. The red PPG paint fits this truck well and the 1963 Plymouth taillights and louvers added to the rear set this truck apart from the rest! After many years of being loved and enjoyed by the same owner, this 1979 C-10 is ready to be enjoyed by someone new. If you are looking for a fun sporty pickup truck this one is an excellent choice and would be a great platform if you would like to customize it and make it your own. Engine: 454 CID V8Transmission: Turbo 400Mileage: 64,990 ( undocumented )
Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this numbers matching 1979 Chevrolet C10 “Big 10” Pickup. The Big 10 was the powerhouse of this 3rd generation pickup. Also known as a heavy half ton, these trucks were identified by the #4 as the fourth digit of the Vin number. This Big 10 is powered by a 7.4L 454 BBC V8. With roughly 10,000 miles on the engine since the rebuild, there is plenty of life left in this pickup. Paired up to a Turbo 400 transmission this truck is a blast to drive. This is a great driver, and even a shop truck if you’re in need of a cool classic to promote your own business. Giving a nice stance is a 4” drop on the front with a 3” drop in the rear. For a nice rugged look is the upcoming and desirable patina paint work. This truck was originally yellow and has merely been smoothed, and clear coated preserving the classic look. To allow the air flow to the large engine is a functional ’68 Camaro SS cowl that has been molded to fit the original hood. The truck has some pretty high options for its era to include tilt wheel, power brakes, power steering, dual tank, and tan cloth interior. Sitting inside the truck you will see that it’s been left in original condition and has been well maintained through the years. This truck is a great collector’s item and cool to take to any local car show. To see all the HD pictures and video please go to http://gatewayclassiccars.com/HOU/1332/1979-Chevrolet-C10. Engine: LS3 6.2L V8Transmission: 5 Speed ManualMileage: 11,080 ( undocumented )
Do you want the timeless classic looks of a C3 Corvette but need it to perform and have the reliability of a brand-new street rod? If you answered YES then this 1979 Chevrolet Corvette dressed in a beautiful dark blue paint is well worth your time to consider adding to your collection or just being driven and enjoyed like it’s ment to be. Looking at the exterior of this car it has been meticulously cared for and maintained to retain its original glory. The aftermarket American Racing wheels are the only part that gives a hint to the many years of work that have been spent upgrading and improving on the overall performance and quality of drivability this car has to offer! The current owner has enjoyed this car for the past 18 years and the majority of the work has been performed in the last 8 years so there are not many miles that have been put on the powertrain. Popping the hood on this machine is what reveals the LS3 6.2 Liter GM crate engine that propels this car down any roadway with more than enough power. You could even say there is 20lbs of engine in this 5lb Vette. Many man hours were spent making sure this new generation of power plant was able to fit and perform great in the engine bay but that same train of thought was also put into every inch of this car. Let’s not forget the 5-speed manual Tremec transmission with Hurst conversion components that is linked up to this LS engine we can’t quit talking about. Not only does this transmission allow you to keep up with the power band of the engine but the extra gears allow for lower rpms at highway speeds. When looking through the window of this Vette the only thing that gives away that it is not a stock Oyster colored 1979 interior is the shift pattern next to factory shifter that has 5 speeds. Even The aftermarket gauges that are looking back at the driver give a respectful nod to the cars classic past but also help monitor all of the vitals of the car. Tasked with the job of getting the power to the ground would be the GM 10-bolt rearend that houses a set of 3:55 gears. This car is one that looks great but is very understated when you get a chance to look back through the years of receipts documenting the work and attention to detail that was put forth to keep with the styling of classic Corvettes but bring the car into the performance realm of any of today’s modern muscle cars but for a fraction of the price. You can view this 1979 Chevrolet Corvette in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. Engine: 355 V8 SuperchargedTransmission: 3-Speed AutomaticMileage: 14,634 ( undocumented )
Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia is excited to welcome this Pro Street 1978 Chevrolet Corvette to our showroom. Pro street cars are not always built with drivability in mind. The owner of this car however built it so that it feels very comfortable on the highway. This Corvette started life as a 1978 Corvette Pace Car. There are very few traces of that car remaining today. The outside is finished in Meadow Green Metallic. The interior is Black and in excellent condition. The engine is a 355 CI V8 with a 671 BDS Blower and Hilbourne Fuel injection. The engine was built by Lorenzos Fast Flow Cylinders and was putting out over 600 HP before the fuel injection was added. A Turbo 400 automatic transmission with reverse manual valve body, trans brake and line lock transfers the power to a 9 in Ford rear with 4:33 gears and a nodular center section. A wildwood 4 wheel disc setup brings this beast to a stop and adjustable rear shocks and 90/10 racing shocks upfront keep the rubber on the road. The car is equipped with power steering and a tilt and telescopic steering wheel. The ignition is electronic MSD and everything is controlled by a Fast Systems computer. The rear wing is an aluminum custom fabrication that helps to keep the tires hooked to the asphalt. The wheelie bars look great, and they are not welded on, so they can be removed for a more discreet look. To view this 1978 Corvette in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video shot with the owner putting this car through it’s paces, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our Philadelphia showroom located in West Deptford, NJ.
