A BEAUTIFUL 1954 Pontiac Starchief Convertible For Sale in Chicago. This 54 Pontiac Convertible has experienced a complete frame off, rotisserie restoration! There is just over 545 miles since restoration was completed! The 268 cubic inch straight eight engine has been completely rebuilt and is professionally detailed right down to the correct engine decals. The transmission is the 4 speed Hydramatic and functions properly. The choke sets on the carburetor and kicks down like it should. The factory Bolero Red repaint is awesome and the chrome shines brighter than the paint! Top power convertible top functions properly Options on this Starchief are AM radio that works, power convertible top, power brakes, 2 tone full leather interior, optional under seat heater/defroster, special Bolero Red exterior paint, white convertible top, working under hood light, convertible top boot with storage bag, full hub caps, and full factory gauges. The emergency brake, horn, wipers, lights all function properly. The side windows roll down smoothly. The hood, doors, and trunk lid close nicely. The tires are the bias ply style with wide whitewalls and those are in great shape also. The underneath of this car is clean and detailed. In 2010 this Pontiac took 3 first place wins at the World of Wheels, and two first place wins at the Pheasant Run Pontiac Show. There is over 250,000 into this restoration! 1954 was the last year of the Pontiac Straight 8 engine. Pontiac StarChief was the only Pontiac convertible offered in 1954. Total Pontiac Star Chief production was 115,088 according to the standard catalog so using 4% of total production gets convertible production at 4,604 cars. Using 5% gets 5,750 convertibles. So about 5,000 54 StarChief convertibles were produced.
