For sale in our Chicago showroom is this very rare 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. While production for 2002 was 42,098 total Camaros built, this example is believed to be a one of one. While COPO cars have certain exclusivity about them, this example is a double-COPO car making it even more exclusive. The vehicle was custom ordered from a dealership and immediately shipped to SLP and had a full performance package installed. During this time, the owner met Matt Murphy of GMMG and arranged to have the vehicle receive the second COPO package before taking delivery.

The Camaro was originally given an LS1 rated at 325 horsepower, but through SLP and GMMG has been upgraded to 380 rated horsepower, but most reports claim this to be conservative. This is believed to be the only 380 horsepower model with the 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission.

Starting from an already impressive base car, many upgrades were done to the entire car. A self-arming kill-switch was installed to reduce the risk of having this beauty stolen, an SLP serialized plaque and a GMMG serialized plaque were added to prove its authenticity, and several signatures have been placed on the vehicles inner fender. Power was increased via a number of modifications including 3.73 rear gear ratio on an Auburn limited-slip differential, under drive pulleys on the engine, a custom exhaust, Bilstien performance springs, shocks, and bushings, and a custom computer tune to make all the added equipment work together without issue.

Being a one of one certainly makes this one rare-oh Camaro! Options include Air-Conditioning, AM/FM/CD, T-tops, Cruise-Control, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Seats, Power Windows, Anti-Lock Brakes, Tilt Wheel, Traction Control, Keyless Entry, Seat Belts, Drivers Airbag, Anti-Theft System, Leather Interior, Alloy Wheels, and a Numbers Matching engine and transmission. For more information on this stunning final-year double-COPO Camaro contact our Chicago showroom at (708) 444-4488 or Chicago@GatewayClassicCars.com. 2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS

2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS

Engine: 5.7L V8 LS1 OHV
Transmission: 4 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 9,781 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of Detroit is proud to present this awesome 2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible. The Chevrolet Camaro was released to the public in 1967 to battle the car that started the whole Pony Car craze. 35 Years later and almost 4.9 million cars sold Chevrolet made the decision to cut the Camaro out of the line-up. They would however have a great sendoff car in the 2002 Camaro SS. This example is dressed in Bright Red with a Black Convertible. Nearly 50,000 Camaro’s were produced and this SS is one of 1,443. It has lived a very pampered life which you can tell by just as nice the paint is. Typically, red paint is not the kindest to the ageing process but this one with about 9,800 miles still looks amazing. The black cloth top looks great while in the up position, but everyone knows the real fun happens when that top goes down. The ebony leather interior against the red exterior absolutely sits this car off. Tying it all together is a set of 10 spoke 5-star aluminum wheels. The soft compound tires will give you the best possible traction especially once they get warmed up. Under that air induction hood lies the one that started the whole LS craze. This original numbers matching LS has been pampered with the majority of tis time spent on nice days simply cruising with the top down. Backed up by the 4-Speed Automatic transmission, this is a driver’s car. With additions like an SLP airbox and exhaust headers this red rocket will get you moving with ease. The exhaust is guaranteed to gather the attention of your neighbor’s when you fire this thing up in the garage. With these new age classics gaining traction in the collector market don’t miss out and be regretting this 10 years down the road. Options on this 2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS include, AM/FM/CD, Power Windows, Power Locks, Tilt, Leather Interior, Power Brakes, Power Steering, and Aluminum Wheels with Radial Tires. The SS versions (1998-2002) received slightly improved exhaust and intake systems, bigger wheels and tires, a slightly revised suspension for improved handling and grip while retaining ride comfort, an arc-shaped rear wing for downforce, and different gearing ratios for faster acceleration, over the Z28 models. Chevrolet offered a 35th anniversary edition for the 2002 model year and that’s exactly what we have here. Motoring this 2002 around is a 5.7-liter LS1 engine controlled by a 6-speed manual. 2001 Chevrolet Camaro SS

Engine: 5.7l V8 FI OHV
Transmission: 6 Speed Manual
Mileage: 41,103 ( actual )

For sale in our Louisville showroom is an awesome 2001 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. The LS1 engine has been a game changer for sure! The Foxbody Mustang had been having it way with underpowered 305 V8 Camaro’s for years. Ford decided to throttle it a bit with their 4.6-liter V8 in the SN95 platform and Boom! Chevy ups their game with the LS package. It would take the higher horsepower Cobra V8 Mustangs to compete with these Camaro’s. Sadly, GM made a strange decision to cease production on the Camaro in 2002. It would be 8 long years before the Camaro before the Camaro would return. This gorgeous low mileage Z28 has been pampered and well taken care of. This manual 6-speed Camaro has been treated to a few upgrades. A Comp Cams XR277HR-12 has been installed in the LS1 V8 along with a set of roller rockers. A SLP ram air scoop has been added to insure the V8 get plenty of air to mix with the fuel. Ceramic coated headers take care of the exhaust and they exit through a 3 inch stainless steel exhaust Manga Flow Exhaust system. Insuring the clutch doesn’t slip with this horsepower and torque, a Macleod Super Street Pro 12 inch has been installed with a new flywheel and pressure plate. The transmission has been upgraded with a Rockland Standard Gear “Son of Tranzilla” T-56 manual 6 speed. The rear end has been loaded with 3:73 gears. To insure this beastly Camaro can be slowed down if needed, a Wilwood 6 piston caliper, 13 inch rotor big brake system has been added. Just in case you get tire of listening to that sweet sound of the exhaust, there is nice Monsoon Stereo with all new Kee Audio level 2 speakers and 12-disc CD changer. The red exterior has been accented white stripes that also let you know what is lurking under the hood. New aftermarket headlights and tail lights finish off the exterior. ZR1 Chrome wheels finish off the look and sport BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp Radial Tires with approximately 2500 miles on them. Options on this 2001 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio with CD Player, Cruise Control, Driver/Passenger Air Bags, Power door Locks, Power Windows, Power Seats, Power Steering, Power Brakes, leather seats, Seatbelts, Remote Keyless Entry, Rear Window Defogger, Factory Aluminum Alloy wheels with Radial Tires.
