The year is 1957, Portable Radar Devices used to enforce Speed Limits. And this beautiful numbers matching 1957 Super 88 rolls into dealerships for the first time. Than five years ago she fully restored back to her original glory. With the 371 CID 300 HP J-2 Golden Rocket V8.

The Oldsmobile 88 (known from 1989 onwards as the Eighty Eight) is a full-size car that was sold and produced by Oldsmobile from 1949 until 1999. From 1950 to 1974 the 88 was the division's top-selling line, particularly the entry-level models such as the 88 and Dynamic 88. The 88 series were also an image leader for Oldsmobile, particularly in the early years (1949–51) when it was one of the best performing automobiles thanks to its relatively small size, light weight and advanced overhead-valve high-compression V8 engine. This engine, originally designed for the larger C-bodied and more luxurious 98 series, also replaced the straight-8 on the smaller B-bodied 78. With the large, high performance V8, the Oldsmobile 88 is widely considered to be the first muscle car, although this title is disputed.

For 1957 only, the basic 88 was officially named Golden Rocket 88, taken from Oldsmobile's 1956 Motorama two-passenger show car. However, the only badging was an "88" underneath each taillight. Also for 1957 the "J2" option was offered, with three 2-barrel carburetors, similar to the Pontiac Tri-Power. The Super 88 continued as the upscale mid-line series. Under the hood, the Rocket V8 increased in displacement to 371 cubic inches and 277 HP for all models across the board. Although rare, three speed manual transmissions were still available. Styling highlights were more evolutional than radical overall with three-piece rear window styling utilized on some models. Oldsmobile revived station wagons for the first time since 1950 with the Super 88 Fiesta being a four-door hardtop design. In 1957, Oldsmobile added a safety deep-recessed steering wheel.

1948 Oldsmobile Series 66

Engine: 238 CID 6 CYL
Transmission: 4-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 78,173 ( undocumented )

What is that? It’s a classical 1948 Oldsmobile Series 66 that is now for sale here in our Gateway Classic Cars of Houston Showroom. These cars were originally called the series 60 but in 1941 both the 6 and 8-cylinder engines were available, so the name was changed to denote which size engine it had by the second digit of the series. The Series 66 represented the 6-cylinder engine and the Series 68 represented the 8-cylinder. This car is in good driving condition and in need of a new owner to take it to the local car shows. It is powered by a 238 CID Inline 6. This classic also features a hydra-matic 4-speed transmission to make for a nice cruising car. The two-toned green paint is in great condition and truly compliments the car. As you walk around the car you will notice the chrome trim is all in good condition along with a nice set of white walls to keep that old school style. Moving to the interior you will find the seats are in good condition with very minor tears. The floors, door panels, dash, and headliner are all in great shape. 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado

1966 Oldsmobile Toronado

Engine: 425-4V CID
Transmission: Three Speed Automatic
Mileage: 96,413 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars has just consigned a really unusual car with this 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado for sale in our Scottsdale showroom. This was the first year for this truly innovative technology that engineers shared between the Oldsmobile and Cadillac divisions to bring FWD to their model line-up. Although this car has an amateur paint job of the original color, Frost Green, it could use a bit of refining to make it look its best. The rest of the car has many new mechanical components like a rebuilt engine and transmission, new steering gear, new battery, alternator, water pump, and more. It's a very reliable driver and was recently driven quite a distance to bring it in to consign. The heat and A/C even work. The green interior is a nice complement to the exterior. Although the car needs some final tinkering to get everything in perfect cosmetic and working order, this classic Olds can be driven reliably now while you work on getting it perfect. These first-gen Toronados are starting to get noticed by collectors and are rising in price because these cars offer unique styling not seen at GM during that time period. Buy this one before they get too expensive. You're guaranteed not to see another one at the local cruise night, but you'll get everyone's attention when you pull up in it. For more information or to schedule an appointment to view this vehicle in person, please call the Scottsdale showroom at 623-900-4884 or email us directly at scottsdale@gatewayclassiccars.com

1966 Oldsmobile 442

1966 Oldsmobile 442

Engine: 400 CID V8
Transmission: 4-Speed Manual
Mileage: 300 ( since rebuilt )

Gateway Classic Cars Philadelphia offers this exquisite this striking 1966 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 at our showroom located in West Deptford, NJ! With competition coming from all directions, Oldsmobile came out strong with the introduction of the 4-4-2! While it was a worthy competitor, the 4-4-2 fell short of cubic inches and the straight-line performance seen in cars like the GTO and Chevelle. To answer the call, Oldsmobile prepared a new 400 engine in 1965 and revamped the 4-4-2 package with simulated rear fender scoops and colorful 4-4-2 badges. Thanks to these changes, Oldsmobile saw significant success in their sales and were looking forward to the 1966 model year. This superb 4-4-2 is perhaps one of the nicest examples of the treasured muscle car from 1966 and appears just as it did from the showroom! This beauty received the full treatment with a frame off restoration including the glass being replaced and coded, black interior totally redone and all suspension components rebuilt! Painted in stunning silver metallic, the car has a beautiful finish and it is heavily emphasized with the mirror-finish chrome and brightwork that was all restored! Powering this incredible machine is the numbers matching 400 CID V8, rebuilt 300 miles ago, equipped with the legendary Track Pac, an over-the-counter Tri-Carb conversion kit that boosted power from 350 to 360 horsepower! Perhaps the coolest part of the engine bay is the Outside Air Induction package (OAI). The OAI features dual air scoops that are incorporated in the front bumpers which interestingly forced the relocation of the front turn-signals. To make room for the scoops, the factory moved the turn signals in about a foot! You won’t see this on your average Olds! This car really moves and you can feel the power as you shift through all four gears! From the handsome black bench seats to the clean trunk, this 4-4-2 means business and is ready for its next adventure. Call us today to learn more information and make this beauty yours! Additional features include rebuilt side-tachometer, brand new brake and fuel lines, seat belts, battery kill switch and Posi-rear with 4:11 gears. 1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass F-85

1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass F-85

Engine: 215 CID V8
Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 6,000 ( since rebuilt )

Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando is proud to present one of Oldsmobile's performance pioneers, the 1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass F-85. Oldsmobile had won a reputation for itself at General Motors by leading the way in engineering breakthroughs, such as Hydra-Matric automatic transmission, first seen on the 1940 models, and the modern high compression Rocket ohv V-8 engine that debuted in 1949. Both were at the leading edge of the swing toward driving ease and abundant power that arose in the 1950s and showed no signs of abating anytime soon. The platform for this power plant was Oldsmobile's unibodies F-85 for sale, introduced for 1961 as one of GM's upscale "senior" compacts. Related to the Buick Special and Pontiac Tempest, it equipped with an all-aluminum, 215-cid "Rockette" V-8. Boasting a hearty 185hp and spinning with a compression ratio of 10.25:1 this was one advanced engine for the time. Backed by Oldsmobile's famous 3-speed turbo-hydromantic transmission it makes for the perfect cruiser combo. It does have 6,000 miles on it since the rebuild. The car was traced back to an Arizona car and didn't need much on the restoration, so a gorgeous shade of cream was laid on the car and finished out with all its original trim and chrome. The interior is an also a supple shade of rich cream and accompanied by aftermarket gauges that help you keep an eye on the heartbeat of this Cutlass for sale. Options on this muscled out F-85 for sale include: AM/FM radio, automatic convertible top, power steering, vinyl interior, numbers matching, and steel wheels capped with spoke hub s and wrapped in radial tires.
