The year is 1957, Portable Radar Devices used to enforce Speed Limits. And this beautiful numbers matching 1957 Super 88 rolls into dealerships for the first time. Than five years ago she fully restored back to her original glory. With the 371 CID 300 HP J-2 Golden Rocket V8.

The Oldsmobile 88 (known from 1989 onwards as the Eighty Eight) is a full-size car that was sold and produced by Oldsmobile from 1949 until 1999. From 1950 to 1974 the 88 was the division's top-selling line, particularly the entry-level models such as the 88 and Dynamic 88. The 88 series were also an image leader for Oldsmobile, particularly in the early years (1949–51) when it was one of the best performing automobiles thanks to its relatively small size, light weight and advanced overhead-valve high-compression V8 engine. This engine, originally designed for the larger C-bodied and more luxurious 98 series, also replaced the straight-8 on the smaller B-bodied 78. With the large, high performance V8, the Oldsmobile 88 is widely considered to be the first muscle car, although this title is disputed.

For 1957 only, the basic 88 was officially named Golden Rocket 88, taken from Oldsmobile's 1956 Motorama two-passenger show car. However, the only badging was an "88" underneath each taillight. Also for 1957 the "J2" option was offered, with three 2-barrel carburetors, similar to the Pontiac Tri-Power. The Super 88 continued as the upscale mid-line series. Under the hood, the Rocket V8 increased in displacement to 371 cubic inches and 277 HP for all models across the board. Although rare, three speed manual transmissions were still available. Styling highlights were more evolutional than radical overall with three-piece rear window styling utilized on some models. Oldsmobile revived station wagons for the first time since 1950 with the Super 88 Fiesta being a four-door hardtop design. In 1957, Oldsmobile added a safety deep-recessed steering wheel.

1961 Oldsmobile 98

1961 Oldsmobile 98

Engine: 394 CID V8
Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 21,159 ( actual )

Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this single family owned 1961 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight. These classic beauties make for great weekend cruisers and a Sunday driver. That is exactly what this car was used for through-out its lifetime. The current owners great grandfather drove this beauty to church every Sunday and kept in stored in a garage it’s whole life. Apart from some surface rust this car is a great survivor. This Old’s 98 is powered by the original and strong running 394 CID V8 also known as the “Sky Rocket” back in it’s prime. It’s stated by the owner of the vehicle that the mileage is original to the car. I will say based on condition of the car and the history it’s not impossible. With that type of mileage this car is only averaging 371 miles per year, THAT’S INSANE! The engine is paired to a smooth shifting 3-speed automatic transmission and is a breeze to drive. The interior remains in very good condition considering the age of the classic. With the blue cloth interior and original instrument panel this car really puts you back into the ‘60s. Something very cool is the vintage radio still working in the car. Unlike modern radios, this one takes a moment to warm up prior to your favorite tunes coming on. They really did a great job with the attention to detail in the 60s to include the intricate “Oldsmobile” badging in the center of the steering wheel. Whether your looking for a nice cruiser or something to put your personal spin on, this is a great car for both options. 1962 Oldsmobile Jetfire

1962 Oldsmobile Jetfire

Engine: V8
Transmission: 2 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 75,048 ( undocumented )

Up for sale in our Atlanta facility is a very rare piece of automotive innovation. Gateway Classic cars of Atlanta is proud to offer this F-85 Oldsmobile Cutlass Jetfire. The Jetfire shared the distinction with Chevrolets Corvair Monza Spyder, as the first production turbo enhanced power plant on the market in the United States. The defining improvement was the 215 HP engine could produce twice as much torque as a naturally aspirated engine twice its size. Turbos were not a new invention, commonly used in aircraft production and these turbos were adaptations from that development. With that being said this F-85 for sale is a stunning frame up restoration. Having appeared in multiple automobile inspired periodicals, Motor Trend September 1962, Cars and parts June 2006, Muscle Car review 2008 and the same car pictured in Wikipedia’s historical page of the Oldsmobile Cutlass. Having been lovingly cared for by its current owner for the past ten years this Cutlass for sale is reported to one of twelve remaining in this color and options. Dressed in a stunning shade of red accented by a white top, the F-85 turbo-rocket came with only one option package. Bucket seats, console, two chrome fins on the hood and two full length separated the Jetfire from its other F-85 brothers. With a documented top speed of 110 MPH be sure and race down to Gateway Classic cars of Atlanta. Options on this turbo charged Cutlass F-85 include; Unique trim molding package, center console, bucket seats restored in new old stock coverings, and a clock that works. 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88

1957 Oldsmobile Super 88

Engine: 371 CID V8
Transmission: 2 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 39,264 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Las Vegas is proud to offer this beautiful 1957 Oldsmobile 88. 1957 Oldsmobile 88 Coupe Oldsmobile showed a real propensity for power in the 50s. The 304-cu.in. OHV V-8 that the division introduced in 1948 ran 7.25:1 compression and had only 135hp on tap; by 57, less than a decade later, the base Rocket T-400 V-8 displaced 371-cu.in., sported 9.5:1 compression, and was rated at 277 horsepower-more than double the earlier 88s output. That was the base engine. For an extra kick in the pants, you could order the J2 option (code W). J2 had been around as a performance option since the early 50s, but for 1957 and 58, J2 ran three two-barrel carburetors. Historically, Oldsmobiles J2 beat Pontiacs Tri-Power to market by a matter of weeks. Olds had been developing 3x2-bbl carburetion for a couple of years under Pete Estes, an engine-development engineer and assistant chief engineer at Olds before he became chief engineer at Pontiac in September 1956. In December of 56, Pontiac announced Tri-Power for a spring release-no doubt prepared with information Estes brought with him from Oldsmobile. It caught his former co-workers off-guard, and they had to scramble to ready the J2 intake for a late January/early February launch as a mid-year option. This is one gorgeous 1957 Oldsmobile, and best of all it has the 371ci J-2 engine with three 2-barrel carburetors and the Hydramatic automatic transmission. The J-2 engine was rated at 300hp and 415 ft lbs of torque. This car doesnt have power steering or power brakes but that because when it was new it was ordered to go fast and didnt want the extra weight and power drain. In 1957 this was one of the fastest production cars on the market, and today is still such an iconic car. To see 100+ HD pictures and videos of this 1957 Oldsmobile 88, please visit GatewayClassicCars.com. 1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass F-85

1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass F-85

Engine: 215 CID V8
Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 6,000 ( since rebuilt )

Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando is proud to present one of Oldsmobile's performance pioneers, the 1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass F-85. Oldsmobile had won a reputation for itself at General Motors by leading the way in engineering breakthroughs, such as Hydra-Matric automatic transmission, first seen on the 1940 models, and the modern high compression Rocket ohv V-8 engine that debuted in 1949. Both were at the leading edge of the swing toward driving ease and abundant power that arose in the 1950s and showed no signs of abating anytime soon. The platform for this power plant was Oldsmobile's unibodies F-85 for sale, introduced for 1961 as one of GM's upscale "senior" compacts. Related to the Buick Special and Pontiac Tempest, it equipped with an all-aluminum, 215-cid "Rockette" V-8. Boasting a hearty 185hp and spinning with a compression ratio of 10.25:1 this was one advanced engine for the time. Backed by Oldsmobile's famous 3-speed turbo-hydromantic transmission it makes for the perfect cruiser combo. It does have 6,000 miles on it since the rebuild. The car was traced back to an Arizona car and didn't need much on the restoration, so a gorgeous shade of cream was laid on the car and finished out with all its original trim and chrome. The interior is an also a supple shade of rich cream and accompanied by aftermarket gauges that help you keep an eye on the heartbeat of this Cutlass for sale. Options on this muscled out F-85 for sale include: AM/FM radio, automatic convertible top, power steering, vinyl interior, numbers matching, and steel wheels capped with spoke hub s and wrapped in radial tires. 1990 Oldsmobile Toronado

1990 Oldsmobile Toronado

Engine: 3.8L V6 F
Transmission: 4 Speed Automatic with Electric Overdrive
Mileage: 62,131 ( actual )

For sale in our Tampa showroom is this time capsule of a 1990 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo. A little background on this vehicle. in mid-1987, Oldsmobile attempted to bolster sagging Toronado sales by introducing a sportier model called the Troféo, which boasted standard leather bucket seats, faux dual exhaust, more-aggressive styling, and a stiffer suspension (the highly regarded corporate FE3 package, with retuned shocks, struts and other components). The 1989 Troféo, which was no longer badged externally as a Toronado, could be ordered with the Visual Information Center: a dash mounted touch-screen CRT that controlled the vehicle's thermostat and radio and also supplied advanced instrumentation such as a trip computer. The VIC could also serve as the interface to an in-car hands-free cell phone. Troféo also received standard anti-lock brakes and a new steering wheel that featured buttons for radio and climate controls. Toronados now had standard bucket seats with console, although the split-bench seat was still offered as an option. 1990 saw Oldsmobile literally and figuratively going to great lengths to revive Toronado and Troféo sales. The hood was the only carry over sheet metal as Olds designers completely redesigned the body, particularly in the rear, increasing the overall length by about 12 in (305 mm). This 1990 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo has the original burgundy paint and matching interior. Powered by the 3800 V6 this Olds is ready to take you down the road with only 62,131 miles. This Oldsmobile is a survivor car that is mostly original. Recently this Oldsmobile has had a new A/C system and a new brakes system installed. Options on this cruiser include AM/FM radio, cruise control, hub caps, lumbar support, power brakes, power steering, power locks, jack and spare tire, power seats, power windows, anti lock brakes, tilt wheel, traction control, keyless entry, power mirrors, driver airbag, anti theft system, leather interior, radial tires and rally wheels.
