The year is 1940, only seven years after the end of prohibition, this cool yellow dodge pickup rolls in to showrooms for sale. Now fresh off another car show win “Hank” the Hillbilly Express is looking for a new home. Now with only 11,000 miles on her since the built, which includes: aftermarket square tube frame, 3-link coilover suspension, front disc brakes, Ford 8.8 rear end with 3.73 gears, and Trak-Lok posi traction, full roller 383 V8 pushing out over 500 HP, fed by a Holley 770CFM carb, and backed by a TH350 automatic transmission with a Hurst ratchet shifter, line lock, rolls bar, custom leather interior with ostrich inserts, 5-point race harness, all finished with a beautiful yellow paint job. Hop inside this cool Hot Rod and let all those horses loose as you ride down the road in style.
Another major restyle arrived for the 25th-anniversary 1939 models, which Dodge dubbed the Luxury Liner series. These were once again completely redesigned, with new bodies for 1940, again in 1941, and a refreshing for 1942. However, just after the 1942 models were introduced, Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor forced the shutdown of Dodge's passenger car assembly lines in favor of war production in February 1942. 1941 saw the introduction of Fluid Drive for Dodge cars, which eliminated stalling or bucking if the clutch were released too quickly. This feature put a fluid coupling in between the engine and the clutch, although the driver still had to shift gears manually.

Completely restored and ready for a Sunday cruise! This 1937 Dodge Sedan originally made for “Young business executives”, is brought back to its former glory and would make a perfect around town driver. Back in 1937 when the Dodge brothers released this stunning sedan, the world was going through big changes. Henry Ford had just initiated the 32 hour work week, Amelia Earhart disappeared over the Pacific Ocean, and the tragic event of the Hindenburg exploding mid-flight killing 36 people. It was truly a different time and when you get in this old Dodge, you can almost picture what it must have been like to live in such an era. Slide into the front seat of the car across the mohair interior and take hold of the larger than life steering wheel to compensate for the lack of power steering. Around the windows and across the dash you will find craftsmanship of what you may find with a fine watch. The wood grained style paired with the metal trim rings around the gauges is difficult to beat. Now it’s time to start it up; simply press the turn the key, press the clutch in, pull the choke out a bit, adjust your throttle, and press on the starter button near your accelerator. The inline six cylinder engine that came with the car some 90 years ago comes to life! Let it warm up and press in your choke again. Now you are ready to really start enjoying your cruise. Put the gear lever in first and release the clutch, and enjoy the smooth ride that comes with owning a Dodge. One of the biggest claims they made when the car was new that it will save you money on fuel on your commute. That may not necessarily be true anymore, but what it lacks in fuel economy it makes up for in excitement! If it feels as if it is getting a little stuffy in the cabin, reach to the center of the dash and turn the knob to tilt the windshield out giving you a refreshing breeze of outside air. This old Dodge is the perfect weekend cruiser and will be a huge homerun like one you would have seen out of Babe Ruth when this car was new. This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1937 Dodge Sedan in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. If you are interested in purchasing this vehicle or have more questions regarding it please call us at (303) 872-4722 or email us at Denver@gatewayclassiccars.com.

Over the years, Dodge has become at least as well known for its many truck models as for passenger car output. Since the beginning of its history in 1914, Dodge has offered light truck models. The 1937 Sedan Delivery model was largely based on a passenger car frame. This stunning hot road was treated to a full frame-off build in 2014. The power plant here is a 318 Dodge with a complete top-end rebuild. Components include Edelbrock headers & valve covers, 4-barrrel carb and Be-Cool aluminum radiator. All lines are custom bent copper. Additional features include Wilwood front disc brakes and new aluminum fuel cell. The hand-crafted bodywork and gorgeous paint are show quality. Done in a tasteful Safari Beige and Cream, both the interior and exterior finishes combine vintage and modern hot rod elements. This exceptional machine is located at our Milwaukee showroom. You can view this 1937 Dodge Sedan Delivery in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. Our Detroit Showroom is proud to offer a one-of-a-kind and super rare 1946 Dodge Power Wagon! The famous Dodge Power-Wagon was a civilian adaptation of a four-wheel drive, 3/4-ton military vehicle which Dodge built in great numbers during World War II. The civilian version, which was first offered in 1946, was rated as a one-ton but was capable of carrying a 3000 pound payload in off-highway service. Dodge engineered the Power-Wagon to be a self-propelled powerplant, and it was capable of a wide range of industrial and agricultural applications. A transmission power-take-off was available (present here) for driving various items of auxiliary equipment. Our example features a PTO driven winch that looks like it could pull a mountain! There is no better color combination than the Military Green and Black which really give an appeal you can only find on a Power Wagon. With only 2,000 miles on this fresh restoration, this 230cid I-6 can perform to its full potential no matter how you plan on using it. These Power Wagon’s are not something you usually see on the road but if you dare, this one is road ready and can be driven in a parade or to a local show. It may take you a little longer than expected, but this Power Wagon will get you their safely and plow thru anything in its way. The only way to get an idea of how big this truck is would be to come gaze at it in person at our Detroit showroom located at 15000 Commerce Dr N in Dearborn Michigan. You can check out over 125HD photos on GatewayClassicCars.com or call to speak with one of our friendly and knowledgeable sales staff at 313-982-3100. Now featured in our Denver showroom is this tastefully modified 2001 Dodge Viper GTS dyno’ed at over 430 horsepower to the rear wheels! After the Viper hit the market in the early 90’s, these cars have grown a huge following and is clear to see why given the V10 engine in this lightweight coupe and sleek lines. 2001 was one of the last years of the second generation of Vipers which saw an increase of 15 horsepower to 415 and had anti-lock braking introduced. This Viper specifically has had a few modifications including VIPAIR intake and smooth tubes for better flow coming in and helping it breathe out well is the Belanger headers and cat-back exhaust that not only adds power, but a superb sound! These modifications also have brought this Viper up to over 430 horsepower at the rear wheels! Unitrax half shafts were added as well to stand up to the additional power and the rear end was equipped with a set of 3.73:1 gear ratio for quicker acceleration off the line than the stock 3.07:1. Once you slide in and get behind the wheel of this Viper, the excitement starts to set in. Turn the key and the V10 comes to life! Put it in gear, roll into the throttle, and hold on as all that power tries to push you through the back of your seat. Once the RPM’s creep up and you let off the throttle, a symphony of pops and bangs and growls bellow from the exhaust. With the discontinuation of the Viper from the Dodge brand, there has been a steady uptick in demand for these cars and have steadily been increasing in value. This 2001 Dodge Viper is a great candidate for someone who is looking for a fun car to take out on those sunny days and weekends without having to worry about the drastic depreciation as the miles tick upwards. This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 2001 Dodge Viper in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. If you are interested in purchasing this vehicle or have more questions regarding it please call us at (303) 872-4722 or email us at Denver@gatewayclassiccars.com.
