A 1275cc engine with a Pertronix ignition and Datsun 210 5-speed manual transmission this MG Midget is ready to take on any winding mountain road, or just cruising down the highway! All this little roadster needs, is a new home. With a rear end gear ratio of 4.22:1 and an overdrive gear it is quick off the line and still can reach higher speeds with ease. The disc brake conversion on this car is able to round off the build, making it an excellent driving machine! The first version, announced at the end of June, 1961, was essentially a slightly more expensive badge-engineered version of the MkII Austin-Healey Sprite. The original 'frogeye' Sprite had been introduced specifically to fill the gap in the market left by the end of production of the MG T-type Midget as its replacement, the MGA had been a significantly larger and more expensive car with greater performance. Mechanically the car was identical to its Austin-Healey counterpart, retaining the rear suspension using quarter-elliptic leaf springs and trailing arms from the 'frogeye'. Brakes were 7-inch drums all round. A hard top, heater, radio and luggage rack were available as factory-fitted extras.
In October, 1962, the engine was increased to 1098 cc, raising the output to 56 HP 62 lb⋅ft, and disc brakes replaced the drums at the front. Wire spoked wheels became available. The doors had no external handles or locks and the windows were sliding Perspex side-screens.

For sale in our Dallas Fort Worth showroom is a 1953 MG TD. Produced from 1950 until its final year of 1953, the MG TD featured a suite of upgrades that set it apart not only from its predecessor, but from many other sports cars of the day as well. The TD combined the drivetrain of it’s predecessor, the TC, a modified hypoid-geared rear axle, the MG Y-type chassis, a familiar T-type style body and independent suspension on front axle using coil springs from the MG Y-type saloon. All of these combined to create a significantly more comfortable driving experience and inherently broadened the appeal of the plucky Brit. Those handling upgrades were accompanied by MG’s well-known 1250cc, inline 4 cylinder engine, which produced around 55 horsepower. This particular TD comes painted in a stately two tone configuration with a yellow body and black fenders. The interior features classic brown seats with black interior paneling, and to literally top it off, a new black convertible top is included as well. To view this 1953 MG TD in greater detail, including 100+ HD photos and HD video, please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com. For sale in our Dallas Fort Worth showroom is a 1961 MG Midget MkI. 1961 marked the beginning of this iconic British sports car. Based off of the Austin Healey Sprite, the Midget was very similar in styling and functionality. The chrome strip down the side of the car is the basic styling cue that set this apart from the Sprite. The car never came with external door handles and if you wanted to have a top then you had to be ready to put it together every time you but it back on. This Midget has a bored out from a 1275cc engine to what now is a whopping 1380cc’s. This car was set up to be a SVRA road racer with the custom roll bar and five point racing seat belts. The upgrades to the engine had to be backed up by 5 speed manual transmission from Ford. This little MG is more fun to drive then you could ever imagine! Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is proud to offer this wonderful example of a 1966 MG Midget Mark III for sale. Adorned in an attractive hue of silver, the classically-British two seater reminds us of a time when cars didn't have to melt the asphalt with a ton of horsepower, but rather relied on style and image to help the owner make a statement. Under the hood is the modest 1.3L 1275CC A Series inline four engine, which is an absolute joy to drive and sounds amazing as you rev this car through the gears. Moving the tires is a rear wheel drive line tied to a four speed manual transmission, and let just admit, it is a lot more fun to drive a roadster when it’s a standard than an automatic. When you slip into the black and blue upholstered interior, be sure you have your cap, pipe, tweed jacket, and ascot on so that when admiring people see you motoring down the road, you'll be sure to get noticed. This car is sure to please an enthusiast who enjoys open-cockpit driving in a vintage English two seater where the journey is more important than the destination. This stylish example of a 1966 MG Midget Mark III for sale right now will sell fast. Don't miss it. Our 1966 MG Midget for sale includes: Seat belts, cloth interior, a convertible top, and radial tires. No need to sleep on it, this is a great deal on a great car! The Louisville Showroom is proud to present this awesome 1977 MG MGB for sale. In structure the MGB was an innovative, modern design in 1962, utilizing a monocoque structure instead of the traditional body-on-frame construction used on both the MGA and MG T-types and the MGB's. However, components such as brakes and suspension were developments of the earlier 1955 MGA with the B-Series engine having its origins in 1947. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Wind-up windows were standard, and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom. A parcel shelf was fitted behind the seats. This MGB has money and an owners love poured into maintaining a great running and driving MG. With only 19,291 actual miles on this little Gem, this MGB will provide years of enjoyment.
