ONE FAMILY OWNED!!! Two door hardtop is proudly featured in our Denver showroom. In 1956 sales material there was an optional rain-sensing automatic top, which was first seen on the 1951 LaSabre concept car. However, it is believed that it was never installed on a car. In January of 1956, iconic Rock 'n' Roll performer Elvis Presley released his first pop single "Heartbreak Hotel." What a great year for music and the automotive industry. That same year this beautiful two-toned Bel-Air rolled off the assembly line. And now only has 87,252 original miles. What a great car to cruise down the road on a Sunday or visit your favorite drive in. The 1956 Bel Air received a face-lift with a more conventional full-width grille, pleasing those customers who didn't favor the Ferrari-inspired '55 front end. Distinctive two-tone bodyside treatments and graceful front and rear wheel openings completed the "speedline" restyling. Single housings incorporated the taillight, stoplight, and backup light, and the left one held the gas filler - an idea popularized on Cadillacs. Among the seven Bel Air models was a new Sport Sedan, a pillarless four-door hardtop that looked handsome with all the windows rolled down and allowed easy entry into the back seat. Production exceeded 103,000, compared to 128,000 two-door hardtops. Shapely two-door Nomad wagons topped the price chart at $2,608, but now carried the same interior and rear-wheel sheet metal as other Bel Airs, lacking the original's unique trim. Only 7,886 were built. The least costly Bel Air, at $2,025, was the two-door sedan. And how now become one of the most desirable models.

1957 Chevrolet 210

Engine: 327 V8
Transmission: 4-Speed Manual
Mileage: 73,010 ( undocumented )

For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1957 Chevrolet 210 Hardtop. This sweet little 210 is powered by a 327 small block Chevy and backed by a manual 4-speed transmission. Power is sent to a stock '57 rear end housing a set of 3.36:1 rear gears allowing for fun around town yet still very highway worthy. The paint is base coat clear coat Quasar Blue Metallic, is roughly 2-3 years old, is still looking great and right at home on this '57 210. Inside you'll find a stock appearing interior with correct 210 seats. Most restorations seem to lean towards Bel Air interiors regardless if they’re Bel Airs or not. The 210 looks just as good and is in an Ivory and Charcoal color scheme that goes quite well with the Quasar Blue Metallic. Miles are showing 73,010 and are believed to be original. Modern upgrades include an aluminum radiator to help dissipate heat and keep the engine running cool. Adding to the aluminum radiator is an electric cooling fan. These electric fans are very good to have during any summer parade or stuck in traffic where the clutch fan isn't spinning fast enough to keep things cool. Brakes are original style drums and are brand new. An Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold helps breath cool air into the heads and an Edelbrock carburetor supplies the fuel. Edelbrock has sure made a name for themselves over the years and this easy to use carburetor solidifies their great reputation. Other notable restoration items include a new windshield, new side glass and rubber gaskets for the doors, windshield and trunk. 1957 Chevy's are as American as Apple Pie and probably one of the most recognizable cars ever built. This one has the looks and that great V8 rumble. Don’t miss out on this classic ’57! For more information on this 1957 Chevrolet 210 Hardtop, call our St. Louis showroom at 618-271-3000.
