For sale in our Atlanta showroom is a second generation Plymouth Barracuda from 1968. The second-generation Barracuda, still shared many components with the Valiant but was stylishly redesigned with model-specific sheet metal, and a convertible and hardtop coupe joining the original fastback offering. The new Barracuda was chiefly the work of John E. Herlitz and John Samsen, with Coke-bottle side contours and heavily revised front and rear ends. Design cues included a concave rear deck panel, wider wheel openings, curved side glass, and S-curved roof pillars on the hardtop. Some points of interest with the 1968 Cudas were that the front and rear bumpers were identical, the rear portion of the roof on the fastback coupe was more streamlined, and the back glass, raked at a substantially horizontal angle, was much smaller compared with that of the previous model. Also, the use of chrome trim on the external sheet metal was more restrained. In 1968, while the 225 cu in (3.7 L) slant-6 was still the base engine, the V8 options ranged from the two- and four-barrel versions of the 273 cu in (4.5 L) to a seldom-ordered 383 cu in (6.3 L) "B" big-block, rated at 280 bhp (210 kW), the latter available only with the Formula S package. This Barracuda S comes with a Hensler Performance numbers matching rebuilt 383 and a 4 speed transmission,[non numbers matching trans] with just 500-miles on the motor since reinstalled. The dark Green exterior paint is in very good condition, shines brilliantly in the sun and contrasts nicely against the painted steel wheels with dog-dish hub caps. The black vinyl interior appears new and in great condition with only minimal signs of normal wear on the seat belts. The dash also shows no signs of sun fading or cracks. One of the most iconic Mopar muscle cars of all time is the 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner in Vitamin C Orange. This car was originally built at the Lynch Road assembly plant in Detroit with a scheduled production date of April 26, 1969. Making it a 1969 ½ and one of 422 that were built with the 440-6bbl as well as an A833 4-Speed manual transmission. Do not let the cartoon bird on the car’s body panels fool you, this car means business and is not to be taken lightly. If cars could tell tales we are more than certain that any car that dared line up next to this one was sure to see a set of tail lights through its windshield in no time! The factory steel long quarter panels are ripple-free and still showcase that neat slash of relief along the upper edge. Panel gaps are good, and the monstrous hood scoop sits in the middle of a satin black hood designed to emulate the mighty A-12 cars that terrorized drag strips in late 1969. The interior is quite stock and while it emulates a no-frills attitude, the bench seat has a very handsome look. There's a 4-speed shifter sticking out of the floor so there's no weight-adding console to slow you down and it's topped with a proper pistol-grip handle! The factory gauges include an in-dash tachometer and work just as great as they work and serve almost as a glimpse into a time machine. What truly sets this Road Runner apart from other cars of its time is the numbers matching 440 cubic inch V8 punching out 390 horsepower. Topping off that power plant is the much sought after six pack. Inhaling through that giant scoop, the bright Hemi Orange torque factory looks ready for show and still retains the factory look. The 4-speed manual transmission feeds a bulletproof Dana 60 rear end, which houses a set of 4:00 gears. With less than 10,000 miles on it since it received a rotisserie Restoration completed by Greg Carlson in Rock Island, IL. The previous owner wanted this to be as close to a GTX restoration as possible. The right engine! – 440 Super Commando - Rebuilt in 1994, engine was out of a 1968 GTX. The Correct Transmission! – 727 Automatic transmission w/ shift kit, also rebuilt in 1994. Posi Traction Rear end with 8-3/4 gears. Also equipped with features like Power steering, Power Brakes, Deluxe Bumper Guards, Correct Magnum Rallye Wheels and red line tires and aluminized dual exhaust with correct chrome extensions that emit a healthy growl when you step on the Gas! The Glass all around is in excellent shape as well as the overall chrome accents throughout the car. The entire car was repainted red with the black racing stripes. The Engine compartment, trunk and complete underside of the car was also painted to look better factory. In 67 the Belvedere GTX hit the streets for the first time in two years. They were the perfect blend of style and substance. Not too flashy or gaudy, with some classy touches throughout that let you know you’re in a higher end car. In short, the ‘67 GTX was the first true luxury muscle car Chrysler ever built. When you open the driver’s door and sit yourself behind the wheel of this classic muscle car the condition of the interior truly grabs you as it was completely redone in 2002, new headliner, door panels, carpeting, seats, floor mats and seat belts too! Equipped with a working stock AM Radio, all gauges work except for the clock. This still has the original key tags. This car has won over 200 trophies, most of them 1st Place! In 1967, while the 225 cu in slant-6 was still the base engine, the V8 options ranged from the two- and four-barrel versions of the 273 cu in to a seldom-ordered 383 cu in "B" big-block, rated at 280 bhp which was only available only with the Formula S package. Now just imagine if a 440 V-8 were available in 1967? Why it would have ran circles around the other pony cars. With a little thought and work the 440 V-8 fit right in there. It even looks like its from the factory. Backing the rebuilt 440 is a new automatic transmission that only has about 500 miles on it. To bring this healthy big cubic inch 440 back down to a halt, disc brakes have been added to the front. The 1946-1948 Plymouth model line was rushed back to production after the war with little changes made, in an effort to restart production quickly. This one has been updated fantastically! It was restored and customized within the past six years. This gorgeous P15 is outfitted in "Dark Percimmon Metallic" with custom painted ghost flames.
