Other 1968 - 1984 Pontiac Firebird

1984 Pontiac Firebird

1984 Pontiac Firebird

Engine: 5.0 HO
Transmission: 4-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 89,619 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer this good looking 15th Anniversary 1984 Pontiac Trans Am located in our Philadelphia showroom. The exterior of this F-body is still and very good shape. The factory color matched wheels are still in good condition. The grey cloth interior is in very good shape as well. Turn the key, and the 190hp 5.0 springs to life immediately, offering a healthy exhaust note with equal amounts of purr and grrr. Grab that fat leather-wrapped wheel, and off we go. The first thing you note is the aggressive throttle tip-in--you get going in something of a lurch, although the sudden motion certainly does add to the sensation of speed, especially around town, and initially it feels like a lot more than the 190hp it's been rated at. What's surprising, nearly 30 years after the third-generation F-body launched, is that it doesn't feel particularly like an old car; the sorts of allowances you need to make when driving a more elderly machine simply don't exist. Here, you drop in and drive as you would any other car, and it becomes more enjoyable on its own simply because it puts you at ease--the style isn't contemporary, but it does feel enough like a new machine that it surprises. If you are looking for some 80’s nostalgia, hurry on in or call us before this one is gone. Options for this 15th Anniversary 1984 Pontiac Trans AM include; Air Conditioning, AM/FM radio with CD player, T-Tops, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Windows, Tilt Steering Wheel, Seat Belts, Cloth Interior and Aluminum Alloy Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. To view this 15th Anniversary 1984 Pontiac Trans Am in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our Philadelphia showroom located in West Deptford, NJ. 1968 Pontiac Firebird

1968 Pontiac Firebird

Engine: 461 CID V8
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 70,696 ( undocumented )

Originally sold in Denver, Colorado this 3 owner 1968 Pontiac Firebird is has been fully restored and ready for its new owner. It started out life with a 350 cubic inch V8 and a Muncie M21 close ratio 4-speed transmission. It has been completely rebuilt from the ground up with all new suspension, stock springs front and rear as well as all new bushings. The 10 bolt rear end was completely rebuilt and has a new Auburn limited slip spool housing 3.23 gears. Having new disc brakes front and rear help the car stop straight and very quick. Popping the bright red hood reveals the 1967 400 cubic inch Pontiac block that was completely inspected before being rebuilt. Engine is bored .030 over allowing for the 461 stroker assembly to call it home. The short block was assembled by one of the best engine builders in the area and after completion was dyno tuned and tested where it produced peak numbers of 497 horsepower and 570 ft. lbs. of torque. Diving into the list of components that have been built into this power house the bottom end consists of an Eagle crankshaft, forged 4340 rods, SRP forged racing pistons, high press and volume oil pump in a six-quart pan. Taking a look at the top end there is a full roller Comp camshaft, and a set of Edelbrock D port 87cc heads. Cam specifications are 502 int. and 510 exh. lift but with 1.6 ratio rockers lift is closer to actual 530. The engine was built this way to get good lift without excessive duration. Helping transfer all of this power to the ground is a completely brand new Muncie M22 Rock Crusher 4 speed transmission. This 4-speed is a wide ratio that works perfectly with the big engine and higher 3.23 rear end gears. When we said this was a complete restoration we ment it! Even the Ram clutch assembly is brand new with all new linkage. Everything in the drivetrain has been balanced complete with the flywheel and new driveshaft. This Firebird was built for handling and performance at any speed. Taking care of the handling performance up front is a set of BMR tubular upper and lower control arms, large BMR sway bar, and tall upper ball joints. All of the hard work has been done to bring this car to where it is all it needs is someone to take it to car shows or on road trips. Looking at the interior you’ll realize the seats have been re-upholstered with factory style covers. Everything on the dash has been replaced including a new dash pad, instrument cluster was rebuilt and while the owner was in there he replaced the heater core and blower motor. You can view this 1968 Pontiac Firebird in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

Engine: 6.6L 400 CID V8
Transmission: TH-400 Automatic
Mileage: 1,574 ( undocumented )

We are trilled to offer to for sale in our Saint Louis Showroom this Chesterfield Brown 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Accenting the Chesterfield Brown exterior is the tan phoenix, or screaming chicken depending on who you talk to, and the Camel Tan vinyl interior. The paint was resprayed at some point and shines with pride. The vinyl interior is believed to be original, it has aged very well, showing little signs of wear and aging. Powering this 78’ Trans Am is a W72 6.6L 400 4BBL V8, which is believed to be the original engine it rolled off the assembly line with. The W72 400 V8 was more powerful than the standard L78 by at least 20 horserpower. The 3-speed automatic transmission is also believed to be original and shifts the power to the rear end beautifully. The 2nd generation of GM/Pontiac’s F-Body vehicles hosted an array of impressive body lines, eye-opening powertrain, and new options for over a decade (1970-1981), and this specific arrival is a shining example of why the 2nd generation held such a lengthy tenure. The odometer on this T/A reads 1,574, which has rolled over, and the actual mileage is believed to be 101,574. Options for this 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am include: Air Conditioning (inoperable), AM/FM Radio with CD Player, Cruise Control, Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Radial Tires, and Rally Wheels. 1973 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400

1973 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400

Engine: 400 CID V8
Transmission: Turbo Hydromatic 400
Mileage: 82,436 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this excellent 1973 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 Ram Air. This Formula 400 Firebird checks off all the necessary boxes to make this a worthy car for the first time “Muscle Car” purchaser looking to have fun, or the long-time collector looking to add to an existing collection. The first box to be checked off is “appearance”. How appealing does it look? At first glance, the Navajo Orange is an eye catcher and combines well with the beige bucket interior. The front end looks aggressive and sucks you in with dual snorkel functioning “Ram Air” hood. The sleek, bold styling of the car exudes a classy confident attitude. The second box is “performance”. This Firebird performs just as good as it looks. It boasts a 400 cubic inch numbers matching motor, along with a 4-barrel carburetor and “Ram Air” option. All you need to do is step on the gas to awaken the sleeping giant. Power is transferred from the engine through a Turbo Hydromatic 400 automatic transmission to a 10 bolt posi-traction rear end which now houses 3.42 gears. The third box is “value”. To some this may be the most important box. How do you determine value or forecast value in a car? There are several factors that affect this category: two of which are already checked off. Let’s think in the terms of supply and demand. In 1973, Pontiac only produced 4,622 Formula 400 cars. Many fell victim to the crusher or salvage yard. Some were torn apart and key authentic components were replaced with non-original parts. Others are parked in non-operating condition and rusted out in a field, barn, or garage. Very few of the 4,622 that were produced made it to 2018 with original equipment that were also kept in prestigious condition. Of the 4,622 Formula 400 vehicles, only 533 had the functioning “Ram Air” hood. Yes, this is one of the 533 born with that very special option. Another factor of determining value is, “can you prove the car is what it is?” Yes, with documentation, VIN, data plate, and number stampings, which this 73 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 Ram Air has. Lastly, with Camaro’s fetching top tier prices, the focus has turned to what the next “Muscle Car” to ignite is. Buying trends are already showing favorable promise to the second-generation Firebirds. When you take all of this into consideration, this car is a trustworthy investment. Most of all, you can hop in and enjoy cruising it while your investment appreciates. You can place a big check mark in this box! Options include (cold) Air Conditioning, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Raised White Letter Radial Tires, Rally Wheels, and Posi Traction. This 1973 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 Ram Air is for sale in our Tampa Showroom and can be viewed in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
