1971 Chevrolet Corvette

1971 Chevrolet Corvette

Engine: ZZ 383 Stroker
Transmission: Tremec 5 Speed
Mileage: 2,957 ( since rebuilt )

This 1971 Chevrolet Corvette is for sale in our Louisville KYT showroom. Road racing has long been a part of American car culture for not only showing what companies could do but just for the sheer fun. The 60’s and 70’s would see one of the biggest booms in the sport with Lemans and the T/A series finding plenty of fans. The sport would eventually fade away after Car manufactures began to focus on fuel economy and safety instead of performance. This example is true to that heritage and was built to look and perform as such. Probably the first thing you notice on this 71 is the headlights. Like racecars of that time the hole light assembly ahs been removed with a Lemans style piece put in its place that not only looks sportier but shaves quite a few ponds off. The front has a bottom spoiler to help with down force, but you have to admit looks pretty darn good. The paint job is fitting with the company logos being nothing more than vinyl decals that can be removed if you don’t like the look. The racing components is what really separates this road course weapon from the rest. The Bilstein shocks are race ready with the tubular control arms, fiberglass leaf springs, and lowered stance all add to the carving capability’s. The Steeroids rack and pinion steering is one of the most precise setups sold for these cars eliminating any of the see saw motion in the wheel. Under the L88 hood is a 383 stroker motor from GM’s very successful ZZ line. The huge cam and a great tune has this small block pumping out A massive 500+HP. The tremec 5 speed handles the power nicely with the built rear end having 650HP half shafts. The 3.55 gears give the perfect mix of acceleration and top end grunt. The bucket seats inside are exactly what you need if you are thinking about trying to use the car to its full potential. The 4-point cage adds rigidity to the chassis while giving a level of protection with the 4-point harness’ keep you in place. The dash on the car has been taken out with a more race car friendly layout taking its place. The removable steering wheel allows for more room when getting in and out of the car and another item that you would expect to see in a car of this nature. The 200MPH speedometer as well as an MSD REV limiter that even has a 2 step. If you have been wanting a race car that can be driven to the track, run some hot laps around the road course and then driven back home in confidence this 71 Corvette fits the bill. Options on this 1971 Corvette include, Power Windows, Power Brakes, Cloth Interior, Seat Belts, T Tops, and Radial Tires with Alloy Wheels. 1971 Chevrolet Corvette

1971 Chevrolet Corvette

Engine: 454 CID V8
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 92,413 ( actual )

Few cars have captivated the imagination like the Chevrolet Corvette. From gracing the silver screen, to taking the podium on race day, inspiring generations of musicians, the Corvette is firmly sewn into the fabric of American history. This two-tone 1971 Corvette Coupe represents a great patch of that historical quilt. Scooting this American sports car along is the 365hp 454 cubic in. LS5 and TH400 3 speed automatic combination. It is getting more and more difficult to find great looking big block cars such as this that have been kept up to this kind of glory, and with just over 92,000 miles on the odometer it’s easy to realize this car has been someone’s prized possession for years ! Swing open the long doors, and you are greeted with the classic black vinyl interior that looks just as great as the day it rolled off the assembly line. The large wood wheel just feels right in your hands, and provides confidence when pushing the limits, while t-tops give the option of feeling the open air and sunshine on your face. With a Big Block Chevy v8 the sound delivered is undeniably muscle, yet the well equipped black vinyl interior tells you that you are riding in a luxury sports car. This was always the niche that the Corvette filled; it is not quite a muscle car, nor is it a sports car. It is America’s car, make this one your car today. You can view this 1971 Chevrolet Corvette in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

Engine: 427 435HP L71
Transmission: 4-Speed Manual
Mileage: 45,896 ( undocumented )

1969… That was the year for the L-71 Corvette and we have a stunning blue on blue Corvette here for sale. It features an L-71 427ci 435hp tri power car. It is in amazing condition and features a 4 speed manual transmission. Take a closer look at this beauty! In 1969, Tire size remained the same, although this was the first year for optional white lettered tires and the last for red striped tires. Carried over from the previous year were seven available rear axle ratios ranging from 2.73 to 4.56. Standard ratio remained 3.08 with automatic and 3.36 with manual transmission. The optional Positraction rear axle, mandated on many engine/gearbox combinations, was installed on more than 95% of the cars. "Stingray" script nameplates appeared on front fenders, now one word, in contrast to the “Sting Ray” name used previously. Exterior door handles were redesigned so the finger plate would actuate the door, eliminating the separate release button. Backup lights were integrated into the inboard taillights, headlight washers were added, and front grilles were made all black. Side mounted exhausts and front fender vent trim were options for this year only. On the inside, revised door panels provided additional shoulder room in the C3's tighter cabin and headrests became standard. Steering wheel diameter was reduced from 16 to 15 inches to permit easier entry and exit, the ignition switch was moved from the dash to the steering column, and map pockets were added to the dash area in front of the passenger seat. Accounting for 57% of the cars, coupes with their removable roof panels, began a trend of outselling roadsters. An extended production cycle due to a labor dispute increased '69 volume. This was the last year for the L88 engine and the only year for the ZL1 option, which offered an all-aluminum 427 cu in (7.0 L) big-block engine listed at 430 hp (321 kW). Rare options: ZL1 aluminum block (2), J56 heavy-duty brakes (115), L88 engine (116), L89 aluminum heads (390). This vehicle is located in our Milwaukee showroom. You can view this 1969 Corvette in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. 1970 Chevrolet Nova

1970 Chevrolet Nova

Engine: 450 small block
Transmission: TH-350
Mileage: 9,268 ( undocumented )

For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1970 Chevrolet Nova. This Nova is way meaner than one may think. Power for this bad machine comes from 450 cubic inch small block using an aftermarket "Rocket" block. This special block allows for a bit more displacement without sacrificing the blocks integrity. The go fast goodies inside include a full solid roller valve train, Manley connecting rods, 10.5:1 JE Pistons, Quick Fuel carburetor and AFR aluminum high flow cylinder heads to name a few. Power is estimated in the 600 horsepower range. Firing up this amazing power plant will impress any gear head. Many would think that an engine with such power and menacing sound would be a difficult one to drive. Believe it or not, this one is very well mannered. The rear end is a Ford 9 inch and is equipped with 3.00:1 gear set for easy highway use. Since the drivetrain build, the car has covered a modest 1,000 miles and is ready for more use and enjoyment. Slowing down such a machine means that drums won't do the job anymore. In place is a new pair of Wilwood front disc brakes while drums remain out back, but still doing their job. Weld Racing wheels look right at home on this Nova as does the Green on Green paint scheme. Adding a little flair to the exterior in addition to the wheels is a set mild stripes that barley show themselves. You may even call them ghost stripes. Inside is stock Nova with exception of the aftermarket gauges. The original bench seat is quite comfy and looks really good. Someone could very easily swap them out for a pair of buckets if they so desired. For more information on this 1970 Chevrolet Nova, call 618-271-3000 or swing by our St. Louis showroom.
