1979 Ford Thunderbird

Engine: 351 CID V8
Transmission: C6
Mileage: 10003 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a very rare, unique and low mileage 1979 Ford Thunderbird Convertible. Ford did not offer a convertible for 1979, but a company in Beverly Hills CA called American Custom Coachworks, LTD decided the car would be better with a drop top. They engineered a way to remove the steel top, strengthen the body to accommodate the open roof, and add their custom power top mechanism that looks so good you'd think it came from the factory. The vehicle still retains the full use of the back seat and all over features including power windows. This allows for the ultimate 4 seater convertible that will certainly stand out from the crowd. It is believed that only about 1000 conversions were completed in 1979, and this one has got to be one of the best preserved examples. With only 10,003 miles on the odometer, this T-Bird has had an easy life. Used mostly for parades, and shows, this T-Bird has countless awards to boast, and condition you'd expect from such a low mileage vehicle. Maintenance has not be neglected, as this vehicle has been given regular checkups and sports a clean bill of health. The vehicle is ready to continue its duty as a show vehicle, or could easily be driven more regularly as a stylish cruiser. This example is finished in a beautiful Bronze exterior and has a white convertible top. Inside is Buckskin colored upholstery which screams 1970s luxury. Power equipment is everywhere: seats, windows, steering, brakes, top, and even cruise control. With a 351 under the hood, and an automatic transmission, the T-Bird cruises wonderfully on the highway or around town. If you're looking for a show stopper, here it is, and you likely won't find another one like it. You can see this 1979 Ford Thunderbird Convertible in greater detail in our St. Louis showroom or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. 1977 Ford F150 XLT

Engine: 460 CID V8
Transmission: C-6 Automatic
Mileage: 5000 ( since rebuilt )

For sale in our Detroit showroom is this beautiful 1977 Ford F150 Ranger XLT pickup. The Ford F Series is a line of pickup trucks and medium duty commercial trucks that were produced by Ford from 1973 to 1979. This generation also led into the introduction of the F-150 that is today’s most popular model. This generation is noted for the body panel’s durability as Ford used extensive amounts of galvanized sheet metal to fight corrosion. In 1976 the F series became the best selling truck in America, a title that it has held ever since. A luxury line called the Lariat was introduced for 1978; Ranger, Ranger XLT, and Ranger Lariat trim levels incorporated rectangular headlights with optional chrome headlight doors and chrome grille insert. This particular 1977 Ford Ranger has the very powerful 460 cubic inch numbers matching V8 lurking under the hood which was professionally rebuilt by Dynamic Engines just 5,000 miles ago, backed up by a C-6 automatic transmission. The Ranger is in extremely great condition having only 46,552 actual miles. The exterior is finished in an Emerald Green high gloss finish with beautiful chrome trim all the way around. The green interior looks just as good as the exterior finish and looks as though the truck is right off the showroom floor. This Ford has been stored for most of its life and is awaiting the right person to make this their daily driver. With such few miles it is like a brand new truck, only you can make it yours for about half the price of the new one at the dealer down the road. 1976 Ford Gran Torino

Engine: 429 4 Barrel
Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 3539 ( undocumented )

This is the one! For sale in the Fort Lauderdale showroom is this extremely rare TV series, 1976 Ford Gran Torino. Not only is this remarkable Starsky & Hutch Gran Torino one of the 1,000 limited production editions built by Ford in the spring of 1976, of which only 300 or fewer are still known to be in existence, it was one of the two used by Spelling Goldberg Productions on the actual 1970s TV series. According to a hand written letter it was identified as Unit 129 and was used as a camera car on the TV series for the 77 through 79 seasons. Paul Michael Glaser and David Soul sat in and drove this car! The vehicle comes with documentation verifying its use on the TV series in a letter from Buddy Loesch, who worked in the TV show’s transportation department along with a cancelled check from Spelling Goldberg Productions with the car’s description on it listing it as “Unit 129.” The studio replaced the original 351 with a 429 4 bbl. The red bubble light, police radio, siren, wigwag headlights and telephone seen on the series are still present. No expense was spared in completeing the restoration. Costs exceeded $60,000 and took three years to complete bringing the car to show quality. The previous owner who completed the restoration advised that the car was once owned by the Hollywood Museum before being sold to a private owner and that the car had approximately 60,000 miles on it before its restoration and engine rebuild. The production company doing the remake movie Starsky & Hutch solicited to lease the car for use in the making of the movie but the request was declined as the production company could not guarantee they would not damage the car during filming. The car is in brilliant show quality condition, has been garage kept and covered and never driven in harsh weather conditions. Options include AM/FM/CD radio, spare tire, power steering, seat belts, vinyl interior and radial tires. To see 100+ HD pictures and a video of this 1976 Ford Gran Torino please visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com. 1977 Ford Thunderbird

Engine: 400 CID V8
Transmission: C6 Automatic
Mileage: 43492 ( undocumented )

This awesome 1977 Ford Thunderbird is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The 7th generation T-Bird was released in 1977 as an intermediate model instead of the full size of the prior generation. Sales would see a huge jump in 77 selling more than 300k cars which was a very impressive feat for the T Bird. This example is a two-owner car that was bought from an estate sale about 7 years ago. The original bill of sale is included and shows the purchase price of almost 8000 dollars. A lot of money at that time but a small price to pay for all this car. The original paint is great condition with a great shine while the deep tan color is classic 70’s. The opera window is a nice touch and was something only available on the T Bird. Under the hood is the original 400 that gets the car down the road nicely. The low-end torque gets up to speed nicely while the 2.73 gear gives the car decent fuel efficiency. The transmission shifts as it should with smooth upshifts that are typical proof of these old cruisers. Open the door and one of the cleanest interiors I have seen is just asking to be sat in. The tan cloth is soft and feels more like velour than your typical cloth. The bucket seats have arm rest that fold up which is something I have not seen before. The dash is stuffed full of gauges keeping everything monitored giving you a sense of confidence over the typical warning lights. If you have been wanting one of these classic 70’s cruisers that goes down the road like only they can this 77 T bird is the perfect one. Options on this 1977 Ford Thunderbird include, AC, AM/FM, Power Windows, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Cloth Interior, Seat Belts, and with Radial Tires. 1975 Ford F150

Engine: 400 V8
Transmission: C6 Automatic
Mileage: 3592 ( since rebuilt )

For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is an awesome, frame off restored 1975 Ford F150 4X4. This 4-wheel drive Ford looks reminiscent of the old school Big Foot monster truck, with its big fat radial tires and lift kit. The green and white exterior paint provide a classic 70’s look, and the green actually has a hint of metallic flake that helps it sparkle in the sunlight. The cloth bench seat is out of a late model truck but fits in well with the rest of the stock interior. Looking at the gauge cluster you will see white faced gauges, which are normally black, this provides a sportier look to the overall interior. This 75’ Ford is powered by a 400 CID V8 engine with a new valve train with lifters, cam, valve springs, and timing chain. Headman headers flow to the full dual exhaust that dump out on each side, in front of the rear tires, and produce a truly awesome sound. A C6 automatic transmission has been employed to shift the power to transfer case, which in turn puts the power to all four corners when desired. The 33x12.50 mammoth radial tires are mounted to 15-inch Weld aluminum/alloy wheels, which fit this truck and this build style to a T. The odometer reads 3,592, which represents the mileage on the truck since the restoration was complete. Options for the 1975 Ford F150 4X4 include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio with Cassette Player, Seat Belts, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Cloth Interior, Radial Tires, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. A lot of love and care went into this frame off restoration. This 75’ Ford F150 4X4 truck will not disappoint and will be a welcomed addition to any car show or off-road rally. 1934 Ford Tudor

Engine: 350 Ram Jet
Transmission: 4L60E Auto
Mileage: 2586 ( undocumented )

The Gateway Classic Cars Showroom in Saint Louis is tremendously proud to offer this amazingly restored and well-kept 1934 Ford Tudor. In succession of the Model A, between 1932 and 1934 Ford produced three new cars; Model B, Model 18, and Model 40. The noticeable changes of the 1934 design included a flatter grille with a wider surround and fewer bars, straight hood louvers, two handles on each side of the hood, smaller head lights and cowl lamps, and a reworked logo. This 1934 Ford Model 40 has been reworked to be powered by a RAM Jet 350, which is a Chevy Small-Block V8 (Cubic Inch Displacement 350) that has a maximum RPM of 5200. Pushing is the engine is a General Motors 4L60-E (TH700R4). Other modern driving features includes: Power Brakes, Posi Traction, Power Brakes, Radial Tires, and Tilt Wheel. The engine, transmission, and wiring were all installed in 2008. Smooth driving performance aside, what makes you motivated to buy this 1934 Ford Model 40 is because it looks better than everything else on the road. The condition of the exterior black paint job from 2008 is in excellent condition and doesn't even need to be waxed to shine as it does. This car has been kept in clean and dry conditions since she was built. The Show Me glass body sits on a Pete and Jake's frame and features a Heidt's front end. The accenting chrome trim and wheels only make the whole ride the reason why people stop and turns their heads to watch her strut her stuff. Running across the front of the Tudor are the classic white, yellow, red, and orange flames. If that makes you hot, then cool off on the inside where there is working A/C, comfortable leather seats, carpeted floor, and a dark trim that matches the exterior. If you are looking for an investment vehicle, a show car, something for your collection, or something just to drive around, this is a ride that you want to inquire more about. 1950 Ford Woody

Engine: 351 Windsor V8
Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 80875 ( undocumented )

A great deal of time, money, and effort has gone into making this old Ford Woody the perfect cruiser! After the second (current) owner purchased the car back in February of 1988 it was driven for a few years before it underwent a restoration of the wood panels on the car in 1994. Taking over a year to complete by a professional, the woodwork has held up nicely and, to this day it still looks great! Under the hood sits a 351 cubic inch Windsor V8 with only 2,500 miles put on since the professional rebuild by a reputable racing shop. The front suspension was replaced with Mustang II components providing a much nicer ride and premium control. As you slide into the interior that was reupholstered back in 2005, you will feel as if you were transported to a different era. A time in history where it was deemed “okay” to make most of the panels out of wood! Fire up that big V8, drop the transmission into drive, and start to cruise! You can almost hear the “Endless Summer” album by The Beach Boys, playing from the aftermarket stereo. The ride quality is very comfortable and feels safe even at higher speeds. The rack and pinion steering is smooth and much more precise than stock, and the disc brakes will stop you quickly. Everywhere you go, this old Ford is sure to turn heads and be a crowd pleaser! This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1950 Ford Woody in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. If you are interested in purchasing this vehicle or have more questions regarding it please call us at (303) 872-4722 or email us at Denver@gatewayclassiccars.com.
