1970 Buick GSX

1970 Buick GSX

Engine: 455 CI V8
Transmission: 4-Speed Manual
Mileage: 85,707 ( undocumented )

If you’re looking for a rare and show-quality car, look no further than this 1970 Buick GSX! The Gran Sport name has been used by Buick to denote several high-performance cars since 1965. Since Cadillac did not present an offering during the muscle car era, the Buick models are considered the most well-appointed GM sports models of the day. In 1970, the 400cid engine was replaced by the new 455cid V8. The base model was rated at 350hp and 510 ft-lb of torque. The optional Stage-1 version was rated at 360hp and 510 lb-ft of torque at 2800 rpm. The Stage-1 engine used cylinder heads that were machined differently to accept larger valves and to produce a tighter compression ratio. The option also included a more aggressive camshaft, specially tuned Quadra jet carburetor, more aggressive ignition timing, 5/8” oil pickup tube and a higher numerical final drive. Also, in 1970, GM decided to step up yet another notch with the GSX high performance package. The GSX was Buicks’ answer to the Pontiac GTO Judge and was introduced relatively late in the 1970 model year. As a result, only 678 GSXs were produced that year and only 400 with the Stage 1 engine option. The impressive performance has become a legend unto its own and is partly due to the light weight of the 455 (150 lbs less than the 426 Hemi). The torque rating was also the highest output of any American production performance car, a record held for 33 years until finally surpassed by the V10 Viper in 2003. The 1970 Buick GSX came in 2 colors, Saturn Yellow and Apollo White, a full black interior, and has arguably the most extensive list of standard high-performance features of any classic era muscle car. We are thrilled to have this Yellow 1970 frame-off restored beauty in our Milwaukee showroom. The numbers-matching Stage-1 455 has been completely rebuilt and the owner states 1,100 miles since. The transmission was replaced with a rebuilt period correct Muncie M22 4-speed manual with 3.64 limited slip differential. This is a non-AC car and includes power steering and power brakes. Styling features unique to the GSX include a distinctive full body length black stripe crossing over the rear spoiler, hood mounted tachometer and black front spoiler. Also standard are black bucket seats, quick ratio steering, anti-sway bars front and rear and quad-link suspension. This 1970 GSX is for sale in our Milwaukee Showroom and can be seen at www.GatewayClassicCars.com; call (262) 891-4253 or email us at milwaukee@gatewayclassiccars.com for additional information.

1967 Buick GS 400

1967 Buick GS 400

Engine: 400 CID V8
Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 77,539 ( undocumented )

This 1967 Buick GS 400 convertible is special car as it carries the new generation V8 motor and sported the out of sight red "Star Wars" air cleaner! The entire GS package was coming together and forming its own identity instead of being an adjunct to the Skylark- Special series. Production of 1967 GS 400 convertibles was low to start with. Only about 2,140 cars in all forms. There were 9 three speed manual cars made and 422 four speed manual cars. Which leads us to our example finished in bright red. The white soft top looks incredible against the bold red paint, but with just one touch of a button, the power roof folds down to reveal an even more impressive interior. The rich black inside against the shining red paint has the kind of bold and sophisticated presentation you want from a Buick GS. All the best original trim is still in place, from the chrome GS 400 badges on the door panels, to the Buick crest sitting below the dash. Under the hood this car proudly shows off the 400 cubic-inch powerplant. It had an advertised 340 horsepower, but remember, those were days of underrating for the insurance people. After all, this big block V8 with the four-barrel carburetor has an unmistakably powerful rumble from the dual exhaust. And being equipped with the one wire ignition means this is one of the more reliable cars you can get your hands on from this era. You can view this 1967 Buick GS in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. 1965 Buick Riviera

1965 Buick Riviera

Engine: 401 CI V8
Transmission: 3-Speed Auto
Mileage: 57,842 ( undocumented )

Now for sale in our Milwaukee showroom is this beautiful 1965 Buick Riviera. A great driver, you will love the classic luxury appeal that this bright red Riviera with white interior will bring. You will enjoy the power windows and tilt steering wheel, and the comfort of driving with power steering and brakes. The white wall tires and rally wheels give the car that sporty look as well. This Riviera is powered by a 401 Cubic inch V8 engine, coupled to a 3-speed automatic transmission. The production Riviera was introduced on October 4, 1962, as a 1963 model. Its distinctive bodyshell was unique to the marque, unusual for a GM product. It rode a cruciform frame similar to the standard Buick frame, but shorter and narrower, with a 2.0 in narrower track. Its wheelbase of 117 in and overall length of 208 in were 6.0 inches and 7.7 in shorter, respectively, than a Buick LeSabre, but slightly longer than a contemporary Thunderbird. At 3,998 lb it was about 390 pounds lighter than either. It shared the standard Buick V8 engines, with a displacement of either 401 cu in or 425 cu in, and the unique continuously variable design twin turbine automatic transmission. Power brakes were standard, using Buick's massive "Al-Fin" (aluminum finned) drums of 12 in diameter. Power steering was standard equipment, with an overall steering ratio of 20.5:1, giving 3.5 turns lock-to-lock. The Riviera's suspension used Buick's standard design, with double wishbones up front and a live axle located by trailing arms and a lateral track bar in the rear, but the roll centers were raised to reduce body lean. Although its coil springs were actually slightly softer than other Buicks, the Riviera's lighter weight made its ride somewhat firmer. While still biased towards understeer, contemporary testers considered it one of the most driveable American cars, with an excellent balance of comfort and agility. The elegant ground-up styling sported new "Coke bottle styling", with the middle of the body exhibiting a tapered tucked-in appearance. There was no trace of the "Sweepspear" used on beltlines of earlier Buicks with the Riviera package, This 1965 Riviera is for sale in our Milwaukee Showroom and can be seen at www.GatewayClassicCars.com; call (262) 891-4253 or email us at milwaukee@gatewayclassiccars.com for additional information.

Open the doors to reveal a beautiful original black interior that has been well-kept by the same family for over 50 years! 1987 Buick Regal Grand National

1987 Buick Regal Grand National

Engine: 3.8L V6 F OHV
Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 51,758 ( actual )

For sale in our Houston showroom is a gorgeous 1987 Buick Regal Grand National. By the late 1980s, the muscle car era was done. The gas crisis caused the end of high horsepower V8s and the few domestic muscle cars that remained were so strangled with emissions equipment, that the horsepower ratings were embarrassing. Even the Corvettes of the late 1980s barely squeaked over 200 horsepower. GM made a step in the right direction with their revolutionary Turbocharged V6 Grand National. This 3.8 Liter gem, with the help of its turbocharger churns out 245 horsepower and a massive 355 lb ft of torque. With its 4-speed automatic transmission, his torque monster could rocket the 3500 pound GN to 60 miles per hour in less than 6 seconds and on to finish a 1/4 mile in about 14 seconds. Finished in a sinister gloss black exterior paint, and with gray and black two-tone interior, the GN is a sharp looking beast as well. This one is showing less than 51,800 miles on the odometer and looks great. This car has cold air conditioning and a working heater, power steering and brakes, power windows, power locks, AM/FM radio with a CD player, horn, seat belts, courtesy lights, power seats and even a spare tire. Whether you're a Buick fan, a muscle car historian, or simply a fan of performance cars, a Grand Nation makes a great addition to any collection. Don’t miss your chance to get behind the wheel of this one. Contact Gateway Classic Cars in Houston for more information. Financing and shipping options are available. Office hours are Monday through Saturday 9-5pm central time. The telephone number for our showroom is (832) 243-6220 or if you prefer, you can email us at houston@gatewayclassiccars.com.
