There was a time when this 1956 Chevrolet Nomad would have been overlooked for its hardtop siblings, but that day is long gone. Today the Nomad is near the top of every Chevy fan's wish list, and this gorgeous wagon gets a lot of things right: great colors, gorgeous interior, and a fully sorted LS1 drive train that offers more power and more comfort than you could get from the factory in 1956. There's no denying the handsome good looks of this 2-door wagon the simple '56 is the best-looking of the Tri-Five Chevys. This one also carries upscale Bel Air trim (which was the only way you could get a Nomad) that includes that dramatic side spear and all the chrome has been refinished to show standards, so it truly sparkles in the sun. Cross-country haulers just don't get much better than this.
The interior has been nicely upgrades with factory seats wearing leather that looks amazing. Things like the dashboard, headliner,door panels and carpets are all nicely upgraded as well, the steering wheel is a wood-rimmed unit that's on a tilt column, and there are little vents tucked under the dash for the modern A/C system which blows ice cold. There's also an AM/FM/AUX radio that sounds pretty darned good and the gauges have been converted to digital. The cargo bay is correctly finished and offers a good deal of storage space, making this a fantastic road trip candidate.
The engine is still technically a small block Chevy V8, but the 5.7 liter LS1 V8 from Street and Performance is a far cry from the original 265. It obviously fits beautifully and thanks to fuel injection and hardware, it's as reliable as your daily driver and quite a bit more powerful. The suspension uses OEM parts wherever possible to ensure reliability and easy service. A 4L60E 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission is a big part of the reason this car is such a pleasure to drive and the recent dual exhaust system has a pleasant burble at idle and just enough of an edge on the roll to let you know this isn't a stock Nomad. The undercarriage is quite clean and includes 4-wheel disc brakes, power steering, Power brakes and 17-inch Chrome 5 Spoke wheels wearing 245/45/17 front and rear performance radials.
With only 1450 Miles on this restored, it has been fully sorted and ready to enjoy, this car just works like it should. Now available in our DFW-Showroom is this 1956 Chevrolet 3100-Truck. In 1955 Chevrolet revealed what is now referred to as the second series. 1955 was the first year for this new body style, which had "wrap-around" windshield—a truck industry first—and optional wrap-around rear window on Deluxe cabs. Power steering and power brakes became available for the first time on GM trucks. Electrical system upgraded to 12 volts. This was also the only year for seven-foot bed length. Fenders have single headlights and one-piece emblem is mounted below horizontal line on fender. The 1956 version had a few slight changes, which included a wider hood emblem & two-piece fender emblem that are mounted above horizontal fender line. This was also the last year for egg crate grille. This 1956 is gorgeous both inside and out. Starting first with the interior, which looks very sharp and crisp using a black bench seat, outlined in red- it certainly makes it pop to the eye. They’ve also kept the dash very period correct, simplistic, and original looking, even retaining the “old-school” AM-only radio built into dash directly. The exterior is painted red and emphasizes the patina appearance, allowing the Chevy chrome to shine that much brighter from the grill and side pieces. As for the truck-bed, it’s a well laid wooden bed, which similar to its paint job, shows small signs of usage. This should be expected, since these were the backbone/life line to many working men/women, back in the day. It’s a great truck, which is going to make someone a happy new owner very soon. This fine example is a true Los Angeles, CA produced truck and 62 years later we are thrilled to feature this 3100 in our South Florida showroom. Chevrolet build the “Task Force” series from late 1955 until 1959 and you will have a hard time to finding others like this. In an original Chevrolet 3100 sales brochure from 1956, Chevrolet starts their description with: “Styled to look good anywhere” and you will look amazing in this stunning 56 Chevy. The truck underwent a frame-off restoration to high standards. Finished in a two-stage Cardinal Red base/clear paint color and sanded to a mirror like finish. The chrome all around the truck and the wooden oak bed are in great condition. You will have a hard time to take your eyes off this beautiful truck. It’s powered by the factory optional 265ci V8 engine backed to a 3-speed manual transmission. A factory style two tone gray finished the completely restored interior. This pickup is loaded with options, including traffic viewfinder, radio, heater, sun visor and window guards. For more comfort a Vintage A/C system was added during the restoration. The generator was changed to an alternator charging system and an axillary electric fan that still maintains the original look was added. In 1955 Chevrolet manufactured the second generation of Bel Airs from 1955 to 1957. This 1956 Chevrolet Bel air 2 door Hardtop is an eye catcher for sure, its bright yellow exterior that is in excellent condition is what really makes it pop. The beige custom vinyl interior is also in excellent condition. This Bel Air is powered by a new GM 350 CID V8 that is bolted to a 700R4 automatic transmission that drives with ease. Under the hood you will notice an Edlebrock aluminum intake manifold and a Holley 4bbl carburetor that provides plenty of air and fuel to get every bit of horsepower you can out of the engine. Brought into production for the launch of Chevrolet’s ground breaking new engine, the small block, no one had any idea the importance of these cars. The small block would live on for decades and is even still widely used today. This 56 has used a much more modern Small block as its power plant. Increasing displacement to 350 Cubic inches the engine can produce a lot more lower end power without losing any of the top end punch that they’re known for. Decked out with chrome valve covers this small block looks as good as it sounds. With a nice lopey idle the cam lets everyone know that this isn’t just a run of the mill small block. With other chrome accents under the hood the engine bay has just enough shine to show it off but not so much that you won’t want to drive it. The 4 speed Muncie transmission controlled by the Hurst shifter makes driving this beauty a blast. The black paint is slick and shows off how nice the body is while the chrome breaks it up just enough. The inside is where this one off really comes into its own. The seats are covered in genuine leather not vinyl and boy does it make a difference. The black and cream go nicely together especially against the painted black interior. With additional touches of chrome throughout the interior compliments the exterior perfectly. For sale is this beautiful 1962 Chevrolet Nova 400 Convertible is in our Louisville showroom. The 1962 Chevy II (Nova) rode a 110-inch wheelbase, compared to 109.5 for the Ford Falcon, at which Chevy's new compact was aimed. The Chevy II one of the fastest new-car development programs in GM history – just 18 months after the designers got the green light, the first production Chevy II rolled off the Willow Run, Michigan, assembly line in August 1961, in time for its September 29 introduction. Unlike the Corvair, the 1962 Chevy II was deliberately never intended to be revolutionary in concept or execution; its mission was to give Chevrolet buyers a simple, back-to-the-basics compact car and it did. Rebuilt front end with new shocks and springs, front disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors, and power steering. It’s a very good cruiser and a real eye catcher. The paint is in very good shape and the body work is very straight. Goodmark steel cowl hood, Foose 18” Chrome wheels, 235/40R18 ZR-rated Toyo Proxy radials on the front, and 275/35R18 ZR-rated Toyo Proxy radials on the rear.
