For sale in our Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom is a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302. The Camaro/Mustang rivalry had begun in 1967 with the introduction of the Chevrolet Camaro by General Motors. The Camaro was the largest threat to the lead Ford had in the "pony car" field, a market segment largely created by Ford with the introduction of the Mustang in mid-year 1964. The performance of the Mustang with 289 and 390 engines was not up to the Camaro, with its small block and big block V8. In an effort to improve the Mustang's image Ford made a 428 Cobra Jet V8 and a Ford Boss 302 engine optional for the 1968 mid-year and 1969 models, respectively. The 1969–70 Boss 302 (Hi-Po) engine was created in 1968 for the SCCA's 1969 Trans-Am road racing series. Available in the Boss 302 Mustangs of 1969–70, it's a unique Ford small-block engine featuring a thin-wall, high nickel content block casting. It differed substantially from regular 302s, with 4-bolt mains, screw in freeze plugs, and heads using a canted valve design being developed for the planned 351 Cleveland (which debuted the following year). The construction was aided by the two engines sharing a cylinder head bolt pattern, though the Boss 302 heads had to have their coolant passages slightly modified. This optional engine, and indeed the entire vehicle package, including handling and aerodynamic aids, was made available for the express purpose of meeting the guidelines to compete in the SCCA Trans-Am series, which limited engine displacement to 305 C.I.D. (5.0L) in order to compete. To view this vehicle in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and videos, visit our website at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1970 Ford Mustang Fastback. The Fastback Mustang is one of the most iconic cars of the muscle car era. Its slick styling and great color combinations make these cars highly sought after. This example has had a partial restoration with the Grabber Green paint being the star of the show. The car came from the factory that bright green with the black accents added during the build. The hood scoop is reminiscent of the Boss’s and really grab a ton of attention. Underneath that hood is a respectable 302 that sounds as good as the car looks. Mated up to a C4 transmission that was recently rebuilt using an upgraded shift kit and 2300 flash stall this Pony is ready to run. With the Pony’s ability to get up to speed taken care of the slowing down part was the next part to be addressed. With all new lines, disc on the front and drums on the rear stopping this fastback is as simple as hitting the pedal. Completing the mechanical side of things was the suspension which had the following components replaced, control arms, ball joints, tie rods, and shocks allowing for a rather plush ride. Open the door and a fresh interior jumps right out at you. The new seat covers look great while the new foam keeps everyone riding in comfort. The new headliner looks great while the dash cover ties it all together. The new carpet seals the deal and completes a very fresh interior. If you have been wanting one of the most iconic cars of the era painted in one of the most iconic colors this 70 Fastback is exactly that. Options on this 1970 Ford Mustang Fastback include, AM/FM, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior and Rally Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. This 1972 Ford Ranchero is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The Ranchero was made by Ford from 1957 to 1979 as a coupe utility. Based off a 2-door station wagon platform where the cab and bed were integrated in one seamless piece. 1967 is when the Ranchero, like many vehicles of that era, got its first true taste of Muscle. The available FE Big Block 390 allowed for an amazing 315 HP from the factory. The 390 would be so successful Ford would start offering it’s revolutionary 428 CJ engine in mid-68 placing an exclamation point on performance. Then in 1970 they would blow them all away with 429 Super Cobra Jet engines. This 1972 has taken that same concept while taking this 63000 original mile Ranchero and turning it into the monster you see now. Originally a California car it was brought here, and the work began. The body was in decent condition, so the owner decided a paint job was in order. The House of Color Tangelo Orange looks great and guaranteed to grab anyone’s attention. The black graphics running across the side help to break it up while giving the car a sporty look. The hood with its simulated ram air scoop lets people know that this is not your average Ranchero. Pop that hood and that 429 is staring right back at you. The big 4-barrel carb feeds this big block just the right amount of gas. The recently rebuilt C4 transmission handles all that power while shifting through all 3 speeds effortlessly. Going down the road this Ranchero has a great feel with the steering and suspension gone through as well. Of course, you want to be able to stop this 72 and with the recently done brake job you should not have any worries. Inside the cab you will find a recently redone interior with the tan complimenting the exterior nicely. The bench seat is comfortable making those longer trips much more enjoyable. If you have been wanting to get a UTE that has a different look and plenty of power under the hood this 1972 Ranchero is a great choice. Options on this 1972 Ford Ranchero include; Power Steering, Power Brakes, Cloth/Vinyl Interior and Set of Custom Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. This 1972 Ford Ranchero can be seen, including an HD video, at www.gatewayclassiccars.com, call at 812-294-1555 or email Louisville@gatewayclassiccars.com for more information.

Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this excellent 1968 Ford Mustang GT. The first-generation Ford Mustang was manufactured by Ford from March 1964 until 1973. The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the pony car. The Mustang’s styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of competition. It was initially introduced on April 17, 1964, as a hardtop and convertible with the fastback version put on sale in August 1964. At the time of its introduction, the Mustang, sharing its underpinnings with the Falcon, was slotted into a compact car segment. With each revision, the Mustang saw an increase in overall dimensions and in engine power. The 1971 model saw a drastic redesign to its predecessors. After an initial surge, sales were steadily declining, as Ford began working on a new generation Mustang. With the onset of the 1973 oil crisis, Ford was prepared, having already designed the smaller Mustang II for the 1974 model year. This new car had no common components with preceding models. This car has recently finished its restoration with only 185 miles since being a finished project. The car originally came from California and is an actual GT from the factory. It has been repainted to the Highland Green with a stylish black stripe painted on the hood. This car has had the original set up and 302 replaced with a 428, 4 speed manual, Ford 9” rear end, and has a 3.73 gearing. The Ram Air hood is functional and adds an aggressive stylish look to this 1st generation Mustang GT. This GT has many upgrades including a digital dash, custom wheels, and even comes with a Marti Report. The suspension has been lowered with Shelby suspension for a more aggressive look. If you want to add something light, fast, with a professional quality build than this is the Gen 1 Mustang for you.
