Now for sale in our Houston showroom is a sweet Presidential Blue 1965 Ford Mustang convertible. This 1965 Mustang is part of the first generation Ford produced from 1964 until 1969. Within the first production year more than 417,000 Mustangs were sold, setting a new record for a new model from Detroit; not to mention creating an entire class of automobiles by itself. These cars had sporty long hoods, along with short rear short decks, and became the progenitor of the "Pony Car" market. The ’65 Mustang was the beginning of a market that still is going strong today, with Camaros, Challengers, Cougars, Barracudas and more joining the fray in the early years. This good-looking 1965 Mustang is equipped with a 289 CID V8, topped with an Edelbrock 4 barrel, and backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission. Fire this pony up and you'll hear the unmistakable rumble of a long tube header-equipped small block with dual exhaust. Jump in, crank up the 289, lower the power top, turn up the radio, slip it into drive, and head down the highway. You'll be thrown back to the sixties in the blue and white Pony interior, done in synthetic leather; while you listen to your tunes coming from the Pioneer speakers mounted in the front kick panels. And, if all of that gets the speedo needle to far to the right, a gentle squeeze on the brake pedal gets the front Wilwood disk brakes a-clamping, and you're back to the speed limit quickly.
All this Pony Car wants to do is cruise down the road with the top down, giving its occupants that free feeling that is like nothing possible from a hardtop ride. Options on this beautiful convertible Mustang include: Air Conditioning, Vintage-style AM/FM Radio with Cassette, Power Convertible Top, Custom Aluminum Wheels, Power Steering, Seatbelts, Vinyl Interior, and Radial tires. For more information on this 1965 Ford Mustang convertible for sale, please call the Houston showroom at (832) 243-6220; or email us at "Houston@GatewayClassicCars.com". Alternatively, if you want to see it in person, come to our Houston Showroom, located at 71 Esplanade Blvd, Ste. 100, Houston, TX 77060.
