Now for sale in our Houston showroom is this mean 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle. Between the massive powertrain and the frame-off restomod, this car is a blast to drive!

Powering this beauty is a completely built up 496 CID V8 engine that features components including Compstar H-beam connecting rods, Callies steel crankshaft, SRP forged pistons, Comp Cams pro magnum roller rockers and custom ground hydraulic roller camshaft, alluminum heads, Edelbrock 35500 pro flow II 8-port EFI with 60lb injectors, FAST XFI ECU dyno tuned by Murillo Motorsports, Dual programmable electric radiator cooling fans, and a coolant expension tank. All of these parts allowed the car to put down 450hp and 439tq at the wheels. Making this ride sound good are shorty ceramic coated headers that lead to a dual 3-inch crossover Flowmaster exhaust. Sending that power to the 12-bolt rear Posi-trac rear end is a six-speed automatic transmission with programmable paddle shifters.

The suspension of this sweet ride has been completely tuned and set up for performace use utilizing Hotchkiss coils, swaybars, heavy-duty tie rod sleeves, and adjustable upper and lower rear trailing arms. The car also features 12-way adjustable shocks. Bringing this big musclecar to a stop are disc brakes at all four corners. Up front are dual piston wilwood calipers fitted around cross drilled, slotted and vented 12 inch rotars. The rear also features dual piston wilwood calipers and slightly larger rotars of the same spec.

The exterior is finished in a silver metalic with dual black stirpes that run the length of the vehicle. The paint has some very minor imperfections, but is in good condition overall. The black vinyl top is also in good condition. Supporting each corner of this chevelle are Bonspeed T-Rex polished alluminum wheels that are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

Moving inward, this beauty is finished with black vinyl that is in very good condition. Sitting below the black vinyl bucket seats is clean black carpet. If the sound of that big V8 ever gets to be to annoying, the driver will appreciate the Alpine receiver/CD/XM radio paired to a JL amp and 4 speakers. Keeping the cabin comfortable are functional AC/Heat. Overall this is a very nice car with a lot of work done to it to ensure proper function and exhilerating performance.

1971 Chevrolet Chevelle

1971 Chevrolet Chevelle

Engine: 350 CID V8
Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 28,541 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this stunning 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible. This car is turn key and fire right up just ready to hit the streets. Nothing like the sound of a Chevy V8 engine and in a convertible to really make you enjoy a summer night cruise. The 1971 Chevelle was treated to new front-end and rear-end styling that included large Power-Beam single-unit headlights, a reworked grille and bumper, and integral park/signal/marker lights. New dual round taillights were integral with the back bumper. Because SS models suffered heavy insurance surcharges, Chevrolet introduced the "Heavy Chevy" at midyear, which was based on the base Chevelle, and was available with any V8 engine except the 454, which was exclusive to SS models. Chevrolet specifications for 1971 included both "gross" and "net" horsepower figures for all engines. The standard Chevelle SS engine was a two-barrel 350-cubic-inch V8 rated at 245 gross (165 net) horsepower. This stunning Chevelle does have a newer crate 350 small block that was installed about 20 miles ago and it runs great. It is paired to a smooth shifting 3 speed automatic transmission. The red paint on this car shines bright in the sun and has been redone to be in great condition. The black vinyl interior does not show its age due to it not having any rips or tears. This car even has upgraded sound system to a more modern stereo and speakers. The classic style is kept with the Cragar wheels and white letter BF Goodrich tires, it does have another set of rims that come with it as well. This car is set up with the R12 original A/C that still blows cool to this day. The power top makes an aggressive look go to a sporty convertible and even more fun drive in a matter of minutes. This car is perfect for any collection and could even be used as a daily driver. Everyone should enjoy dropping the top on a classic Chevelle and pushing the throttle down to feel the rush of American muscle. To see 100+ HD pictures and videos of this 1971 Chevelle Convertible, please visit GatewayClassicCars.com.
