Located in our Houston showroom is this Classy and highly documented 1969 Porsche 912. This car makes an excellent backroads or cruising car between its light weight and sporty engine. With the detailed documentation dating back to the mid 90’s, when the restoration initially began this is a car definitely worth taking a 2nd look at.

Powering this agile sportscar is a 1.6 liter flat four-cylinder paired to a five-speed manual transmission. The engine was rebuilt to factory specs in 2017 with 1,400 miles since the rebuild. The transmission was replaced in the 90’s with a five speed which was later rebuilt in 2006 to ensure it remains a mechanically sound classic. In 2016, the 912 took on a few upgrades to maintain that TLC that all these cars need. The fuel tank was replaced with an OEM model, shocks were replaced to keep a comfortable ride, and a new clutch was fitted to ensure you can shift through the gears smoothly.

The exterior is finished in silver and was repainted in the 90’s. The paint shows well and overall is in great condition. The paint has had some minor touch ups through the years to keep it looking sharp, because as everyone knows chips and scratches do occur over a 25-year span. This car is a very nice, and driver ready with a fresh engine and a good transmission that’s just waiting to hit the canyon roads or go to the weekend car show!

The interior of this beautiful sportscar is finished with black carpet and black leather seats. Keeping true to the minimalistic sportscar mindset that classic Porsches are known for, this car does not have power brakes or power steering. However, this car does have features such as a radio/cassette player along with a clock and courtesy lights. This car is also equipped with heat for those colder days. Overall the interior is in good condition.

Other 1962 - 1976 Porsche

1976 Porsche 914

Engine: 2.0L 4-Cylinder
Transmission: 5-Speed Manual
Mileage: 75302 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of Houston has a fantastic opportunity for you to own this beautiful ONE OWNER Porsche. The car was owned by a B-17 flying fortress pilot who purchased the car brand new and owned it until his passing. His son found it in his barn and sold it to the current owner, who only titled it in his name to be able to sell it with us. The miles are fully documented and everything that has ever been done has been noted. It is a survivor car and not 100% perfect but it would be very difficult to find a more original and well optioned car from this era that hasn't had a full restoration. The air conditioning system was a dealer installed option. This is a 1976 year model of the 914! 1976 marked the last year for this awesome little sports car. The Porsche 914 or VW-Porsche 914 was a mid-engined, targa-topped two-seater roadster designed sports car manufactured and marketed collaboratively by Volkswagen and Porsche from 1969 to 1976. Amazingly, this one has maintained the same owner since it was purchased brand new all those years ago! A testament to the greatness of this car. It has gone almost 40 years without ever being damaged or repainted and it still has the original engine and transmission. Power goes to the rear wheels via the mid mounted 2.0l engine, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission which gives the near 2100lb vehicle plenty of power to excited. The low curb weight and mid-engine layout is the perfect layout for a nimble and playful sports car. This Porsche features air conditioning to help keep the cabin cool on those hot summer days. You will be able to play your favorite radio station on the AM/FM radio with cassette player. The targa top is something that is becoming more rare with newer cars but this car comes with a fully functioning example of this. Safety is paramount in any vehicle and you will be pleased to find seat belts inside. Whether you purchased and owned a 914 back when you could find them brand new in the dealerships or if you are a first time 914 owner, you will love this one. The white paint job and vinyl interior go beautifully together and it will certainly turn heads. This could be perfect for weekend car shows or just a good drive in the country. Porsche is a staple when it comes to real driver’s cars and this is no exception. It is a machine that you can truly feel connected to when you’re behind the wheel. This excellent example of a classic German automobile won’t last long. We have financing and shipping options available to make the purchasing process easier even if you are not in the Houston area.
