Now for sale in our Houston showroom is this way cool sleeper 1969 GMC 1500. Between the clean look and the aggressive powertrain, this is a fun truck.

Under the hood of this classic square body is a Weiand supercharged 350 CID V8 engine putting out quite a bit of power. Topping the Weiand blower off is a four-barrel carburetor fitted with an Edelbrock air cleaner. The engine also features Edelbrock valve covers that accent the air cleaner nicely. Sending that boosted power to the rear end is a turbo 350 three-speed automatic transmission that shifts crisply through the gears. Providing cranking power to that big V8 is an Optima Redtop battery for added reliability and power over a traditional lead-acid battery. Sending the exhaust gasses to the rear of the vehicle are stainless steel headers. When it comes time to stop this big truck, the driver will appreciate the power brakes.

Moving outward, the truck maintains the sleeper look with original styling. The body is finished in an olive-green paint that is in decent condition. The chrome bumpers and appropriate trim are in good condition also. Supporting each corner of this large truck are steel wheels with polished accents. The bed is covered by a white vinyl cover that is in good condition. Wrapped around those wheels are Firehawk tires with white lettering and good tread life left in them.

Upon entering the vehicle, the driver will notice the two-tone green finish. The bench seat is finished in dark green vinyl and is in good condition. Providing comfortable and easy maneuverability is power steering. Overall the truck maintains a very minimalistic feel with some basic amenities and an awesome powertrain.

1988 GMC S15 Convertible

1988 GMC S15 Convertible

Engine: 2.5L Inline 4
Transmission: 5 Speed Manual w/OD
Mileage: 40633 ( actual )

This custom 1988 GMC S15 is available in our Louisville KY showroom. The S15 was GMC’s version of the S10 which was a light truck that sold very well from 1983 to 1990. Many of these trucks were used as platforms in the mini truck world, a term used for lowered customized light trucks popular in the early 90’s. This example is a one owner low mileage truck that had a ton of custom work done over the years. Stat with the body and paint, the custom front end gives it a sporty style while making it appear even lower. The paint on the truck is custom and typical of what you would see done in that era. The top was cut off making this little s15 a convertible with its removable hardtop. The wheels on the truck are Dayton’s, the original spoke wheel used on many low riders. The gold spokes are clean and with these being true knock off’s that spinner is not just for looks. Under the custom louvered hood, the original engine still runs great and with it being the 2.5 liter does great on gas. The manual transmission shifts out great with the clutch still having a great feel. Inside the interior has been customized as well with the bucket seats having a velour material making them soft to the touch. The white Grant steering wheel is a great touch with the full size panoramic rear-view mirror really putting an exclamation point on the build. Options on this 1988 GMC S15 include, AM/FM Radio, Cloth Interior, Seat Belts, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Tilt Wheel, and Knock Off Wire Dayton’s with Radial Tires. This 1988 GMC S15 can be seen, including an HD video, at www.gatewayclassiccars.com, call at 812-294-1555 or email Louisville@gatewayclassiccars.com for more information.

1983 GMC Caballero

1983 GMC Caballero

Engine: 3.8L V6 2BL
Transmission: Other
Mileage: 5000 ( since rebuilt )

Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this classy 1983 GMC Caballero. It’s often forgotten that GMC made their own version of the well-known El Camino made by Chevrolet. The vehicle was originally names the GMC Sprint but that was changed back in ’78 to the Caballero and it remained in production until 1987. This Caballero is powered by a strong running 350 CID V8 that will push you down the road with ease. The engine is mated to a 3-speed Automatic transmission which both were rebuilt roughly 11 years ago. It may be an older rebuild however the car has only been driven an estimated 5,000 miles since the rebuild, meaning there is plenty of life left in this beauty. The true key to this classic is that it’s a 1 owner car with a clean Carfax. The car is painted in a sleek black and silver color combo that shows very well. The car also features a very nice spray-in bed liner to make for a nice work vehicle if it’s ever needed. This Caballero has all the benefits of both a car and a truck all in one. It’s light weight, fast and looks great while at the same time can be used for a quick trip to Home Depot or Lowes. Taking a seat behind the wheel you will find a matching black on silver color combination making this car truly show worthy. You may notice the empty space for a stereo, but this is simply due to the owner enjoying the sound of the car more. When driving a classic that’s all that there should be, you, the car, and the road. No need to worry because the A/C was left in place and blows nice and cold for those hot summer days.
