Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is proud to offer up this WONDERFUL 1965 Ford Thunderbird for sale. Between the futuristic styling and the powerful engine, this is a fun old car.
Under the hood of this iconic body style is a 390 CID engine that pulls nicely and provides plenty of torque for what this car was meant to be. When new in 1965, this engine was good for roughly 300 horsepower. Sending power to the rear wheels is a three speed dual range automatic transmission that shifts smoothly through the gears to ensure an enjoyable cruising experience. Overall, the powertrain of the sweet ride is in good condition and provides plenty of power for a spirited cruise around town.
Moving outward, the body of the car is finished in a light blue metalic paint that really accents the lines of the car well. The car also features a black vinyl top that is in good condition. The vinyl top provides good contrast against the light body color. Supporting each corner of this classy ride are steel wheels with chrome caps. The wheels are wrapped in radial white wall tires with good tread life left in them.
Upon entering this futuristic car, the driver will immediately feel like they are in a much newer automobile. The styling is very nice and compliments the exterior lines. The interior of this car features clean black seats that are very comfortable sitting atop clean black carpet. Tucked in the dash is a radio for those longer drives. When the summer months roll around, the driver will appreciate the AC that blows cold.

Engine: 390 CID V8Transmission: 3 Speed AutomaticMileage: 83,507 ( actual )
This beautiful two owner 1965 Ford Thunderbird is for sale currently in our Denver showroom. The original light blue paint has been meticulously cared for throughout the years and it definitely shows! Thanks partly to this car never having been driven in inclement weather. Both owners of this 4th Generation Thunderbird treated it much like it was a part of their family. It was stored indoors at all times and put away during winter months only driven for enjoyment in most cases. The original 390 cubic inch V8 starts with the greatest of ease and purrs like a kitten. With just over 12,000 miles on a complete rebuild and never having missed a scheduled maintenance this thing runs down the road better than when it was new. Helping transmit the power to the road is the 3 speed automatic transmission that has also been professionally rebuilt around the same time as the engine. Sitting behind the swing-a-way steering wheel takes you back in time to when aviation and vehicles shared each others styling ques. Everything from the heater controls to the gauge cluster make you feel as though you are preparing for takeoff! The bucket seats feel as though they have never been sat in and if you are lucky enough to be the driver you are treated to an adjustable seat that is power. Wraping around the original wheels is a set of radial tires that have just over 400 miles on thme. Rounding out the claissc looks of this piece of American history are the sequential taillights that look just as good when they are off as when they are lighting up. You can view this 1965 Ford Thunderbird in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. Engine: 390 CID Bored .030Transmission: Cruise-O-MaticMileage: 109,932 ( undocumented )
For sale in our St. Louis Showroom is a stainless steel over red 1963 Ford Thunderbird. The 390 CID V8 engine was bored 0.030 over and professionally rebuilt with Speed-Pro pistons/rings, King/Clevite bearings, ARP fasteners, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and 750 CFM carburetor, Summit gold street-race oil pan, heads from a c4ae-g, and a c4ae-b (427) crank. All these additions and work have combined for an estimated 375 horsepower and 430 lb-ft torque! The professionally built Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission transfers the power to the Ford 9” rear end with 3.50 gears. This Thunderbird was built to participate on the Pro Touring circuit. On top of all the engine and transmission work, the brakes and suspension received a thorough look through. The top half of the car is wrapped in a custom vinyl wrap that appears like stainless steel, while the lower half is painted red, which combines for an interesting and unique look. The red vinyl interior is in good condition, free from major signs of wear. A neat feature to these Thunderbirds is the swing away steering wheel. Simply push the shifter to the right, slightly passed the park position, and the entire steering column will swing to the right, creating more room for the driver to exit the car. The odometer reads 109,932, while the actual mileage is unknown, about 5,500 miles have been put on the car since the recent restoration and engine work were complete. Options for this 1963 Ford Thunderbird include: Air Conditioning, AM Radio, Vinyl Interior, Seat Belts, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Swing-Away Steering Wheel, Radial Tires, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. This is a neat example of an early 60’s T-Bird, which has received excellent power improvement and is ready for a new owner to enjoy. Engine: 390 V8Transmission: 4-Speed AutoMileage: 4,802 ( actual )
Our Milwaukee showroom is very proud to present this absolutely stunning 1966 Ford Thunderbird. This T-Bird comes equipped with a 390 V8 engine, and 4 speed automatic transmission. The convertible top borrowed the opening mechanism from the same era Lincoln Continental where the trunklid would open electrically in a single piece, hinged at the back of the vehicle, then the fabric top would fold down and disappear beneath the trunklid. The mechanism was originally used on the Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner hardtop convertible of the late 1950s. Opening the trunk on convertibles for storage required that the lid be opened electrically, without deploying or retracting the folding convertible top. In 1966, a flatter hood, re-shaped front fenders, new headlight buckets, new egg crate grille with large Thunderbird emblem, new bumper guards, a single bumper bar, and painted roll pan replaced the previous two model year's two-piece front bumper. The rear taillights were revised, now a 3 piece unit going the full width across the rear, the backup light now located in the center section replaced the formerly rear roll pan mounted lamps. The transmission used on early build 390 V8 equipped T-Birds was the Cruise-O-Matic MX, however late build 390 and all 428 V8 equipped T-Birds had the new C6 3 speed automatic installed. This 1966 Thunderbird is for sale in our Milwaukee Showroom and can be seen at www.GatewayClassicCars.com; call (262) 891-4253 or email us at email@example.com for additional information.

Engine: 390 CID V8Transmission: 3 Speed AutomaticMileage: 535 ( since rebuilt )
The Tampa Showroom is offering this 1963 Ford Thunderbird for sale. A bullet bird, how cool is this ride! This Thunderbird has a 390ci V-8 with an automatic transmission. The T-bird has a newer top and the interior has been lifted from the old to the new with carpet an, seats, and door panels. The newer paint looks very good and this bullet is ready for the road. During the build, new brakes, gas tank & lines, transmission serviced, a new Holly carburetor, driveshaft balanced, trunk mat kit, master cylinders, power booster, and multiple trim pieces. Heads have been hardened to accept regular gasoline. This bird comes with a cover, extra rear bumpers, original heads, carburetor, and fuel pump. All this work was completed 2012 and with only 535 miles put on the odometer since the build. The third generation of the Ford Thunderbird is a personal luxury car produced by Ford for the 1961 to 1963 model years. It featured new and much sleeker styling than the second generation models. Sales were strong, if not quite up to record-breaking 1960, at 73,051 including 10,516 convertibles. A new, larger 390 cu in 6.4 L FE-series V8 was the only engine available in 1961. The Thunderbird was 1961's Indianapolis 500 pace car, and featured prominently in US President John F. Kennedy's inaugural parade, probably aided by the appointment of Ford executive Robert McNamara as Secretary of Defense. It shared some styling cues with the much smaller European Ford Corsair. Changes for 1963 were relatively mild. Some additions to the option list included vacuum assisted door locks and an AM/FM radio; an AM radio and a remote driver's side mirror became standard. Options include: Power Brakes, AM radio, Hub Caps, Power steering, power top, vinyl interior, tilt wheel, radial tires, power windows, . Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1965 Ford Thunderbird convertible. The Thunderbird was introduced as a sporty two seater geared to the luxury crowd. A segment that had been pretty much ignored by American car makers. Starting out as a little 2 seater the car would see the addition a lot of things but rear seats has to be the biggest. This 65 is a great example of why these cars became so loved back then. Even though the car is a bigger car it carries all that sheetmetal nicely and does not appear to big as it really is. The blue paint on the car looks great with the base coat clear coat giving it a whole new depth that could not be achieved back then. The white top just enhances that blue even more. The wide white walls are the perfect match and really put an exclamation point on the build. The hubcaps are a welcomed addition and give it a classic feel. Under the hood is one of Ford’s go to engines an FE big block 390 that sounds amazing. The transmission shifts nicely giving the car a very cruiser feel. Unlatch the 2 hooks and hit the button as the white top comes down giving the car a totally different look. The white leather interior is easily showed off now and is sure to grab attention no matter where you go. If you have been wanting a great running and looking 60’s era convertible with big block power this beauty is the car for you. Receipts are available upon request. Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a one of a kind 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1. Sold new on August 28th 1973 in Niagara Falls, New York; this Mach 1 has been lovingly maintained and cared for since. Right off the bat, the car as taken to Armor Guard to be Rust Guard treated. The sticker still remains on the window, and clearly the product did its job as the car is incredibly solid. From then on, the stewards whom owned the vehicle were fanatical about keeping maintenance records, and documentation throughout the car’s life. From oil change invoices, to original Dealership paperwork, almost all of it has remained with the car. With this paper trail, we know the car made it’s way from New York to South Carolina, and then eventually to Illinois. The car is a Mach 1 with it’s original 351 Cleveland under the hood, and a C6 transmission and 9” rear end. It is a well optioned car with bucket seats, factory stripes, factory tachometer, factory AM radio, and even a period style aftermarket FM converter. For the music buff, it also has a factory 8 track player, so you can jam REO Speedwagon’s Ridin the Storm out, or Elton John’s Crocodile rock on 8 track! Other options include: power steering, power brakes, 3 speed wipers, and cigarette lighter. With a recent visit to the Ford dealership, perished suspension and brake components have been replaced, and the car has been given a clean bill of health. As it sits, it is a wonderful highway cruiser and a joy to display at shows. Whether you’re an experienced Mustang collector, or wishing to enter the collector car hobby, this Mach 1 would be a great choice. Now available in our DFW-Showroom is this stunning 1963 Ford Fairlane. The Ford Fairlane is an automobile model that was sold between 1955 and 1970 by Ford in North America. The name is derived from Henry Ford's estate, Fair Lane, near Dearborn, Michigan. This 1963 Ford Fairlane wagon has been a drag racer in the Pacific Northwest for many years. We have seen many Thunderbolt clones, but never one based on a wagon, and this one is even better because it has real history. It has a modernized engine, yet the exterior retains older paint and graphics. Fantastic! The car sits right and the staggered steel wheels with long Moroso studs, which cannot be beat. The rear suspension and wide 11.5? Mickeys are nicely tucked underneath and don’t really hint at their increased capability. The red interior offers a nice contrast and doesn’t dig the Sun sweep tachometer on the dash and the roll-bar that extends back into the cargo area. The stock bench and steering wheel look great! The engine is the best part of the car and sets it apart from the small blocks we typically seen in wannabe T-bolts and Fairlane drivers. It combines a 390 block with a 428 SCJ crank to displace 423 cubic inches. It apparently wears twin 600 CFM carbs under a proper looking airbox and T-bolt headlight duct system. The transmission is a built C6. If you’re ready to stand out in a crowd or simply haul “butt” away from them, this is the vehicle for you! To view this in 1963 Ford Fairlane, including 100+ HD photos and HD video, please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com.
