Gateway Classic Cars of Houston has a rare opportunity for you to purchase a family owned since new, 18,596 original mile, 1973 Lincoln Mark IV! This car is original down to the tires that haven’t been changed since it was new. The current owner is the 3rd in his family to obtain the car but the Grandfather was the original purchaser. Powering this personal luxury car is a brutish 460 CID (7.5L) Ford 385 V8 engine mated to the C6 3-speed automatic transmission which are original to the car. 1973 was the second year for the successor to the Mark III. It grew in size and weight from its predecessor and was designed with the Cadillac Eldorado rival in mind. It certainly competed very well. It shared a common chassis with the Ford Thunderbird and was given its own exterior design from the windows down, returning hidden headlights, a radiator-style grille and a continental spare tire trunk lid. All the Continental Mark IVs were assembled at the Wixom assembly plant in Wixom, Michigan alongside the standard Lincoln Continental and the Ford Thunderbird. This was certainly a heavy car, coming in at a heft 5,264lbs! It feels like the kind of car you could drive through a wall without noticing. 1973 saw a major redesign, necessitated by the addition of the 5mph bumpers; in various forms, the front body style would be seen on Continentals and Lincolns until 1989. The engine in the Mark IV was rated considerably lower in both hp and torque than the 460 CID V8 used in the previous generation, however, this is largely due to that fact that they changed how they rated hp. Nationwide companies were made to switch from SAE gross to SAE net hp. This was done to better reflect real world hp figures. The compression ratio was lowered to comply with emissions standards but in many cases it only lowered power by around 10%. The SAE net hp of this car was 212.1hp which pushed this big brute to 120mph and could reach 60 in 10.8 seconds. Considering the car weighs as much as a modern-day Tahoe this was impressive for the year! Inside you will find AM/FM radio, cassette stack, spare tire, cruise control, power brakes, power steering, power locks, jack, power windows, ABS, tilt wheel, leather interior and radial tires. Don’t miss this chance to own this one. Contact Gateway Classic Cars of Houston at (832) 243-6220 for more information on the car, financing information or to talk about purchasing. You can also email us at houston@gatewayclassiccars.com. The car is in our showroom at 1910 Cypress Station Dr #200, Houston, TX 77090. If you are seeing the car advertised anywhere other than www.gatewayclassiccars.com then please visit the vehicle’s homepage for more info, pictures and a video of the car running and driving http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/HOU/1255/1973-Lincoln-Mark-IV.

1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V

1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V

Engine: V8 OHC
Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 21,580 ( actual )

In the 70's the Lincoln Mark series was the pinnacle of luxury. This was Ford Motor Company's way to compete with Cadillac and a very successful way at that. The Mark V screams 70's luxury, from its long straight body, to the hideaway head lamps, to the pillow top seating, or even the opera windows. The size, weight, and presence of the vehicle lets you know that someone important is behind the wheel. Although the car is something to admire, behind the wheel is the best place to be. The bench seat is as comfortable as your easy chair at home, the steering is light enough you could steer with one finger, and the ride is so soft it feels like you're floating down the road. This is a car made to cover long spans of roadway. Powering the car along is a 400 CID V8 backed by a silky smooth 3 speed automatic transmission. The original owner ordered this one with plenty of goodies including A/C, AM/FM, cruise control, hub caps, power brakes, power steering, power locks, power windows, power seats, tilt/telescopic wheel, seat belts, cloth interior, and white wall radial tires. These late 70's cruisers have a great following and may be the next high dollar classic. This one is ready for the collector, or simply to be driven and appreciated. You can view this 1978 Lincoln Mark V in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. If you are interested in purchasing this vehicle or have more questions regarding it please call us at (303) 872-4722 or email us at Denver@gatewayclassiccars.com.

1977 Lincoln Continental Mark V

1977 Lincoln Continental Mark V

Engine: 460 CID V8
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 80,805 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to offer a handsome 1977 Lincoln Mark V. In the 1970s, a luxury car was all about presence. With gas costing just a few dimes per gallon, an expanding network of interstate highways, and a surviving obsession with cubic inches, this Lincoln is the epitome of 1970s American excess. With a body totaling nearly 20 feet long, and a hood about the size of a queen sized mattress, there is no shortage of... car. Pop that massive hood and you'll uncover a 460 CID V8 which is more than capable of pulling this land yacht down the highway in style and comfort. The transmission is of course and automatic, and power everything (nearly) leaves the driver in control, yet completely relaxed. This is the type of car you can steer with one finger. This particular Mark V sports a white exterior with a white landau top. The interior features white leather upholstery to match as well as some blue accent pieces for a little contrast. The car is in good surviving original condition and has only 80,773 showing on the odometer. The car runs and drive's nicely and would make a nice first collector car for someone, or a nice stylish daily driver which still has most of the modern creature comforts we've come to expect. You can see this lovely Mark V in greater detail in our Chicago location or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Please contact 708-444-4488 or Chicago@gatewayclassiccars.com with inquiries.

1981 Lincoln Continental Mark VI

1981 Lincoln Continental Mark VI

Engine: 5.0L V8
Transmission: Auto
Mileage: 25,788 ( actual )

For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a low mile 1981 Lincoln MKVI. This Bill Blass Edition Lincoln has covered an original 25,788 miles and is on its second owner. This is "the little old lady car to church on Sundays." The condition of this low mileage gem is near new and drives like it too. It’s obvious that this one has been garaged and stored in the winter away from any winter roads. Equipment is plentiful as it should for a Lincoln. Power seats, Power windows with power smoker's vent window, Power locks, Cruise control, Tilt steering wheel and leather. Power comes from an exceptionally smooth 302 V8 and shifts through an automatic transmission. The Designer Series such as the Bill Blass Edition demanded a premium and was one of the most expensive cars built in America. The Bill Blass Edition was accompanied by three more Designer Series; The Cartier Designer Series, The Givenchy Designer Series and the Pucci Designer Series. They all came with their own color scheme and sold well. This new series began in 1980 and came to an end in 1983. The smaller Lincoln equipped with the fuel injected 302, was Lincoln’s answer to the gas crisis. A light weight with a smaller appetite was just what the doctor ordered. The outgoing heavy MK V was far heavier and equipped with a 460 or a 351 V8 making for a gas tank that you couldn’t keep full. This was a short run when compared to other Lincolns, making for fewer collectible examples on today’s market. This may be the best one available. Don’t miss out!
