If you have never owned a '66 Chevy Nova II before, then I’ll give you a little history lesson on these wonderful cars. The 2nd gen Nova was introduced in 1966, with few changes from 1965. Most visible was the fact that external proportions were squared up, vs. Gen 1; but dimensions and features changed little. One could choose from 3 trim levels - the 100, 400, or the SS; with 3 choices of engine, including an inline 4, inline 6, or a V8. This Chevy II is a 117 car that has been treated to some serious, but appropriate upgrades. Now it’s been upgraded with a rebuilt 327 V8 with LS-based block, and mated to a 5 speed Tremec manual transmission. This car has seen 3,765 miles since it’s been rebuilt and it’s in great shape! The Nova SS also comes equipped with Cold AC, AM/FM radio, Power steering, seat belts, Rally wheels, Quick Fuel Carb, MSD Ignition, Front disc brakes, CalTracs rear suspension, and restored audio system. New Carpet was also installed during the restoration; all glass is in great shape, there are no patched panels, and it has its original trunk floor. Gateway Classic Cars Philadelphia offers this 1966 Chevy ll that means business. This little car is a Purple Monster that chews up the asphalt. The small block 350 ci motor pushes power thru a Power glide trans with a reverse pattern that is fully manual. Engine mods include Chrome Moroso valve covers, chrome Chevy midrise intake and a Holley carburetor. Fender well headers an MSD distributor and coil. Cooling is handled by an aluminum radiator and fan. Everything feeds a narrowed 12 bolt posi rear with 456 gears and Strange axels. Lakewood traction bars keep the Mickey Thompson 29 in tires mounted on Centerline Wheels firmly on the ground. Inside you will find racing seats and a full roll cage. Autometer gauges to monitor the vitals. The rear seat has been deleted and the battery and a fuel cell are in the trunk. The car has been tubbed and it is done very well. We have a fantastic 1966 Chevy II Nova here in our Milwaukee location. It features a slick black paint with black interior with bucket seats and a center console automatic shifter. It features a 350ci small block Chevrolet boasting a little over 500hp. This is a rare car made for power, no air conditioning or power steering. Turn the key and feel it rumble, the sound it gives off is amazing. 1966 Chevy IIs introduced an extensive sharp-edged restyle based in part on the Super Nova concept car. In general, proportions were squared up but dimensions and features changed little. Highlights included a bold grille and semi-fastback roofline. "Humped" fenders in an angular rear end were reminiscent of larger 1966 Chevrolets, though the 1966 Chevy II and Nova had vertical taillights and single headlights. The lineup again started with Chevy II 100 and Chevy II Nova 400 models. For just $159 (equal to $1,199.27 today) more than a Nova 400, buyers could choose a Nova Super Sport. Available only in a Sport Coupe, the Nova SS was top of the line. The 194 cu in (3.18 L) inline-six was standard on the Super Sport, but any Chevy II (excluding four-cylinder) engine could be coupled with the SS. The Nova SS was visually distinguished by wide rocker panels and a bright aluminum deck lid cove. It had bright SS emblems on the grille and in the ribbed rear panel, and Super Sport script on the quarter panels. Wheel covers were inherited from the 1965 Malibu SS. Strato-bucket front seats were included, but a tachometer cost extra. The ’66 Chevy II sales brochure clearly promoted the Super Sport as the “Chevrolet Chevy II Nova Super Sport,” but the name "Nova" was not used anywhere on the body. Front and rear emblems displayed "Chevy II SS. In 1967, Chevy II was still the name of the vehicle, but the Nova SS option package replaced all Chevy II badging with Nova SS badging. We are excited to present this 1969 Chevrolet Nova now available at our Philly store. According to historical Chevrolet records This Nova which has been certified by Camaro Hi Performance is an original SS 396, L 78, 375 HP V8. It is equipped with a Muncie M21 4 speed transmission and a 12 bolt 3:55 rear axle. It is all numbers matching. This SS 396 Nova coupe has been certified as real and authentic. The exterior paint has been changed to LeManns blue and is in good condition. The black interior is original and matches the trim identification tag on the firewall. The seats, dash and headliner appear to be original and are in excellent condition. The carpet has been replaced. The Sun tach and Sun gauges are all circa 1970s and in excellent condition. The original AM FM radio is still in the dash and functioning as it should. The engine compartment is clean and well detailed with some minor dress up items and factory decals. This car is a great driver. These big block Novas are getting harder and harder to find. This one with this powertrain is the one to have. Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to offer a bad to the bone 1969 Chevrolet Nova. This ’69 Nova is a bit of a sleeper. From the outside, all you’ll see is a slick coat of burgundy paint, with plain jane steel wheels and hub caps. As long as the car isn’t running, you might be able to convince someone it’s just a base model Nova. It’s not until you crank up this beast that you’ll hear the Merlin block 427 roar and realize this is not your grandpa’s Nova. This Big Block beast runs GM aluminum cylinder heads and manifold. It has a Crower crank, roller rockers, forged rods, and of course, a sweet sounding set of headers. This Nova may be hopped up, but the appearance makes it looks factory. Under the hood, you’ll find a mostly stock looking Chevy engine bay from the orange block paint, to the chrome valve covers and air cleaner lid. Without he headers, you’d think it came from the factory that way. Inside you’ll find a factory style interior which is in great shape and features bucket seats as well as a center console to house the 4-speed shifter. This is a nicely documented build with most invoices from the engine build. It is a street car and has not been raced, although it could probably handle a drag strip quite well. Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this gorgeous 1960 Chevrolet Impala! This is no ordinary Impala. This is a true survivor car. The 283 CID V8 engine is the original that was put in the car in the factory when it was being put together. Covering only 18,176 miles since it first drove off the showroom floor all those years ago. Amazingly, the paint on this car has the original undercoat on it! Even the original AM radio in the car works as it should. This is part of a two-model-year run for the second generation of the much-loved Impala. The 1959 Chevrolet Impala was redesigned. Sharing bodyshells with lower-end Buicks and Oldsmobiles as well as with Pontiac, part of a GM economy move, the Chevrolet's wheelbase was 1-1/2 inches longer. Using a new X-frame chassis, the roof line was three inches lower, bodies were two inches wider, and curb weight increased. Its tailfins protruded outward, rather than upward. The taillights were a large "teardrop" design at each side, and two slim-wide nonfunctional front air intake scoops were added just above the grille, The Impala became a separate series, adding a four-door hardtop and four-door sedan, to the two-door Sport Coupe and convertible. Sport Coupes featured a shortened roof line and wrap-over back window. Standard were front and rear armrests, an electric clock, dual sliding sun visors, and crank-operated front vent windows. A contoured hooded instrument panel held deep-set gauges. A six-way power seat was a new option, as was "Speed minder", for the driver to set a needle at a specific speed and a buzzer would sound if the pre-set was exceeded. The 1960 Impala models reinstated three round taillights on each side, and a white band running along the rear fenders.
