For sale in our Houston showroom is a classic 1968 Ford Mustang. If you love old cars you will know the Mustang story and it is quite a charming one. By the early 1960's there was quite a bit of competition amongst brands and the need for a "Pony" car was becoming a reality pretty quickly. After concepts were received well the Mustang was launched on April 17, 1964 and dubbed the 1964 1/2 amongst Mustang followers. The little cars with a choice of a 6 cylinder or V8 engine took off and became an instant success to compete with vehicles like the Chevrolet Camaro, Plymouth Barracuda and Pontiac Firebird.

By 1968 the Mustang had received a minor facelift but still featured that domineering front end, side scoop and classic tri-lens taillights that made this one of the most iconic American cars ever. The option of engines as well as some creature comforts made this a versatile vehicle that could be made as a performer or just a comfortable personal car. This example features the 200 Cubic Inch Inline 6 cylinder that delivered smooth power while still providing a smooth and comfortable drive. The automatic transmission shifts very nice and makes driving this classic very fun and easy.

The exterior of this car features a clean green paint with an all original & clean interior which features excellent condition leather seats, custom digital Stereo with aftermarket speakers. The exterior paint & original wheels look fantastic and shine very nice. This car has had a great deal of care and maintenance over the years to preserve it's good looks and reliability. If you have been looking for a reliable cruiser that will provide years of loving service this one deserves a second glance.

1968 Ford Mustang Fastback

Engine: 390 V8
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 23,919 ( undocumented )

For sale in our Fort Lauderdale showroom is this fantastic 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback. This story begins on September 5, 1967 when the Fastback left the Ford plant in Metuchen, New Jersey. We are looking here at an original S-Code 390ci 4-barrel carburetor V8 big block 68 Mustang Fastback with a 4 speed manual transmission. It was also ordered with the GT Equipment Group. Now you get the idea of what this Fastback is all about and we are thrilled to have it here with us in our South Florida showroom. The Fastback shows very well and drives even better. The blue exterior is just beautiful and it comes with a clean and loaded interior. First thing you will see is the nice center console when you open the door. Just continue looking around and you will also find an overhead console and a nice brushed aluminum dash and much more. There are no cracks in the dash, seats or anywhere else. Powered by a 390ci V8 engine this pony moves forward. In combination with the 4 speed manual transmission it’s just a blast to drive the Fastback. The disc brakes on all 4 wheels will get you to a stop as fast as you will take off in this Mustang. No reason to be worried to get sweaty stains on the nice and clean wooden steering wheel, the A/C is blowing cold. Another very comfortable option is of course the power steering. Folks, this is the real deal here. Everybody wants one and don’t wait too long on this one. Grab the phone and give us a call. You will get more attention with this car than Enzo in his Ferrari. 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

Engine: 427 CID V8
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 69,362 ( undocumented )

This GT-500 is 1 of only 5 that were ever created. Backed up with a MARTI report, this Shelby GT-500 has a dealer installed 427 side oiler. This rare Mustang had a complete rotisserie restoration completed on it and is as good as the day it drove off of the showroom floor! All of the stampings down to the Kelsey Hayes rims and steering wheel are correct for the era and is truly amazing to see a piece of automotive history preserved as well as this one has. The 427 side oiler has always been one of the most sought after of Ford engines for their high performance and racing pedigree. The Shelby GT-500 was the most powerful Mustang created in 1967 and was created in very limited quantities overall. This engine configuration from the factory was expected to make over 450 horsepower and the numbers were typically under rated. The look of the late sixties Mustang fastbacks are timeless. The swooping lines and sharp edges are unforgettable. This iconic American muscle car is not just a pretty face though. The car runs and drives very well and feels like endless amounts of power. As you drive along it is hard not to get caught up in the nostalgia while gripping the wood grain steering wheel and are looking into the faces of each Shelby gauge then looking to your right and seeing Carroll Shelby’s signature on the glove box is the icing on the cake! This piece of history is well documented and in superb shape. No matter if you plan on using at just a show piece or to drive occasionally you are surely to be the only one in your group with the same car. This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-500 in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. If you are interested in purchasing this vehicle or have more questions regarding it please call us at (303) 872-4722 or email us at Denver@gatewayclassiccars.com.

1968 Ford Mustang Convertible

1968 Ford Mustang Convertible

Engine: 289 CID V8
Transmission: 3 Speed Manual
Mileage: 63,984 ( undocumented )

This good looking 1968 Ford Mustang convertible is for sale in our Louisville Showroom. The 1967 model year Mustang was the first redesign of the original model. Ford's designers began drawing up a larger version even as the original was achieving sales success, and while "Iacocca later complained about the Mustang's growth, he did oversee the redesign for 1967. The major mechanical feature was to allow the installation of a big-block V8 engine. The overall size, interior and cargo space were increased. Exterior trim changes included concave taillights, side scoop (1967 model) and chrome (1968 model) side ornamentation, square rear-view mirrors, and usual yearly wheel and gas cap changes. This convertible comes with the venerable 289 CID V8 engine with a C4 3-speed automatic transmission. The car may have been repainted at some time, but the original color is Lime Gold (Code I) and the current owner has had the car for over 15 years. The exterior has been finished with a nice set of factory rally wheels. It gives this a convertible just a little bit sportier look. The interior is Ivy Gold vinyl (Code 2G) and looks to be in very good shape. The black convertible top is in good condition and with a little care will last for years to come. If you’re looking for a nice week end cruiser for some top down fun in the fun, call before this little gem is scooped by another Mustang fanatic. Options for this 1968 Ford Mustang Convertible include; Power convertible Top, Power Steering, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior and Raised White Letter Radial tires.
