Gateway Classic Cars of Houston has a fantastic opportunity for you to own this beautiful ONE OWNER Porsche. The car was owned by a B-17 flying fortress pilot who purchased the car brand new and owned it until his passing. His son found it in his barn and sold it to the current owner, who only titled it in his name to be able to sell it with us. The miles are fully documented and everything that has ever been done has been noted. It is a survivor car and not 100% perfect but it would be very difficult to find a more original and well optioned car from this era that hasn't had a full restoration. The air conditioning system was a dealer installed option. This is a 1976 year model of the 914! 1976 marked the last year for this awesome little sports car. The Porsche 914 or VW-Porsche 914 was a mid-engined, targa-topped two-seater roadster designed sports car manufactured and marketed collaboratively by Volkswagen and Porsche from 1969 to 1976. Amazingly, this one has maintained the same owner since it was purchased brand new all those years ago! A testament to the greatness of this car. It has gone almost 40 years without ever being damaged or repainted and it still has the original engine and transmission. Power goes to the rear wheels via the mid mounted 2.0l engine, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission which gives the near 2100lb vehicle plenty of power to excited. The low curb weight and mid-engine layout is the perfect layout for a nimble and playful sports car. This Porsche features air conditioning to help keep the cabin cool on those hot summer days. You will be able to play your favorite radio station on the AM/FM radio with cassette player. The targa top is something that is becoming more rare with newer cars but this car comes with a fully functioning example of this. Safety is paramount in any vehicle and you will be pleased to find seat belts inside. Whether you purchased and owned a 914 back when you could find them brand new in the dealerships or if you are a first time 914 owner, you will love this one. The white paint job and vinyl interior go beautifully together and it will certainly turn heads. This could be perfect for weekend car shows or just a good drive in the country. Porsche is a staple when it comes to real driver’s cars and this is no exception. It is a machine that you can truly feel connected to when you’re behind the wheel. This excellent example of a classic German automobile won’t last long. We have financing and shipping options available to make the purchasing process easier even if you are not in the Houston area. Don’t miss this one. Call the Houston showroom at (832) 243-6220 for more information on this vehicle. Gateway Classic Cars welcomes this awesome 1972 Porsche 911 Targa Top. The 1972–1973 model years consisted of the entry level T, the midrange E and the top of the line S. However, all models got a new, larger V6 engine. This is universally known as the "2.4L" engine, despite its displacement being closer to 2.3L. The new power ratings for the T were 130 or 140 hp. The U.S saw 165 hp for the E and 190 hp for the S. This beautiful 78,000 original mile 911 was repainted its original yellow in 2017. And since had all new tires brakes, calipers, rotors, speedo cable, brake lines, battery, exhaust and a freshly rebuilt 5 speed manual transmission. To go along with the rebuilt transmission a new clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing. The interior also had a complete overhaul, featuring beautiful black leather power seats, Targa Top, and a new digital AM/FM radio with CD player installed. This white 1987 Porsche 928 S4 is now available to purchase at our Gateway Classic Cars Showroom in our Saint Louis Showroom. BACKGROUND: The Porsche 928 is a luxury grand tourer produced by Porsche AG of Germany from 1978 to 1995. Originally intended to replace the company's iconic 911, the 928 combined the power, poise, and handling of a sports car with the refinement, comfort, and equipment of a luxury saloon. Porsche executives believed such a flagship would have wider appeal than the compact, quirky and sometimes difficult 911. The 928 has the distinction of being the company's first production V8 powered model and the only coupé powered by a front-mounted V8 engine. This particular 1987 Porsche 928 S4 has a clean Auto Check Vehicle History Report with no reported accidents. Included in the documentation that comes with the vehicle is a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and receipts for recent improvements and repairs done on the Porsche. Included in that group of improvement is a new radio with Bluetooth. The exterior of this Porsche is in good condition. There is no rust anywhere on the vehicle and it has just a few minor imperfections on the body. The exterior plastic parts, such as the wing spoiler do not show the amount of fading respective to its age. The interior is also in good condition. There are some signs of wear on the driver's seat, but the dash, gauges, electronics, sun roof, and the carpet are all in very good shape. Mechanically, as you can see and hear in the video, this Porsche is running smooth and strong as it ever did. It is shifting strong and accelerating according to the high performance for which it was designed. In short, you have every reason to inquire further about this 1987 Porsche 928 S4 by viewing it in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video of the car running and driving at our website - http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com.
