Up for sale in our Houston showroom is one very clean 1965 Ford Mustang convertible is actually a 1964.5 F code. This 1964.5 Mustang is part of the first generation Ford produced from 1964 until 1969. Within the first production year more than 417,000 Mustangs were sold, setting a new record for a new model from Detroit; not to mention creating an entire class of automobiles by itself. These cars had sporty long hoods, along with short rear short decks, and became the progenitor of the "Pony Car" market. The ’65 Mustang was the beginning of a market that still is going strong today, with Camaros, Challengers, Cougars, Barracudas and more joining the fray in the early years.
This good-looking 1965 Mustang is equipped with a 260 C.I.D V8 (F-CODE) and a 3-speed automatic transmission. The engine was recently rebuilt with about 1000 miles on it since, and its convertible top frame and top have been rebuilt & replaced, as well. This Mustang has a nice white exterior that is free from any major dings or dents. A few small ones, but the car has not had much, if any, body work done to it. The bumpers, trim, emblems, grill, & glass are in good condition. The original wheels are in great shape and the tires have plenty of life in them. The body panels are straight & the doors open & close with ease.
The very nice red interior is beautiful and contrasts well against the Wimbledon white paint and really makes the car show well. The seats are comfortable and free from tears or rips. Door panels, dash, & carpet also show very well and look almost new. Seatbelts for all seats in this car so grab some friends, put the top down and go check out a movie.
All this Pony Car wants to do is cruise down the road with the top down, giving its occupants that free feeling that is like nothing possible from a hardtop ride.
Options on this beautiful convertible Mustang include some that are only exclusive to the F-code Mustang like the air vents & no back up lights, also included are: AM Radio, Manual Convertible Top, Custom Steel Wheels, Power Steering, Seat belts, Vinyl Interior, and Radial tires. Engine: 331 StrokerTransmission: TKO 600Mileage: 1936 ( since rebuilt )
This 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 2+2 is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The 65 Fastback was an instant success as soon as it went on sale. With the know how of a guy named Carrol Shelby the car would be great track weapon and helped to propel the fastback to legendary status. People still today love the lines and the relatively small size of these cars making them perfect candidates for some serious performance upgrades. This 65 is a great example of exactly that keeping the body lines and simply pumping up the performance aspect. The red paint is clean and shows very well with the white strip right above the rockers breaking up the red nicely. The scoop on the hood helps to give the car that aggressive look. The Magnum 500 Wheels are classic Mustang and finish off the exterior of this 2+2 nicely. Under the hood is a recently built 331 stroker motor that only has 1000 miles since being built. A full roller motor this is an engine that will last. The Comp cam is the perfect mix of bottom end grunt while having a nice top end pull. The Trick Flow aluminum heads are a great set and really allow this small block to perform at its best. Exhaust gas is taken out through the headers and into dual 2.5” pipes all the way back allowing for a nice and deep sound. Backing up that 331 is another top of the line component, a TKO 600 allowing for complete control. The Moser 9” rear-end with a true-trac diff allows for nice smoky burnouts. The Cal-trac monoleaf springs and traction bars help to place the power on the ground while stiffening up the rear. When you have the ability to go this fast you need to be able to stop as well. The 4-wheel Wilwood set up has that part taken care of allowing for aggressive stops with very little pedal fade. Inside the seller has went with an original style interior with a couple custom touches. The dash has been built and installed using AFR gauges with a very straight forward layout. The shifter is in the perfect spot with the E-brake moved to a handbrake position. If you have been wanting to get into a great looking 65 Fastback that performs just as good this red 2+2 is the car for you. Fabricated body panels include; hood, hood scoop, front air dam, wheel flares, side exhaust rocker panels, upper and lower scoops, rear trunk and spoiler, lower pan, tail lights, recessed license plate, and engine compartment panels. Engine: 289 HiPoTransmission: 4-Speed ManualMileage: 33696 ( undocumented )
For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2, aka Fastback. This beautiful Ivy Green 4-speed car has recently undergone a detailed restoration. During the restoration the A code 289 engine was built to Hi Po (K-code) specs with the addition of roller rockers. Adding roller rockers to an already amazing engine is a recipe for further greatness. Backed up by a 4-speed manual just makes this car that much more fun! The Ivy green paint shines like new, the black vinyl interior also looks new and is very comfortable. Inside you'll also notice a set of Rally Pack gauges atop the steering column and a center console. The dash pad looks new and is free of any cracks or wrinkles as is the headliner that fits tightly. The gauge cluster has been swapped out for a '66 gauge cluster. Some prefer the circular gauges as opposed to the sweeping speedo from a '65. Adding to the exterior are White Mustang rocker panel stripes, Magnum 500 wheels, GT fog lights and GT trumpet exhaust tips. Other notable features are the front disc brakes and power steering that aids in easy maneuvering. A lot of these were equipped with four wheel drums which can be a bit frightening at times. This is a very well sorted '65 Fastback that is ready for some new adventures. For more information, call 618-271-3000 or swing by our St. Louis showroom. This “A” code fastback for sale features one of the finest small blocks ever made the 289 4V this amazing small block is well known to produce snappy revolutions that lead to tire smoking launches and red-faced Camaro drivers. This little pony has been owned by the same filly for the past 31 years and has been lovingly cared for and restored. Now I am not going to try to convince you that the lady who owns this 1965 Mustang Fastback for sale only drove it to Church at 10 miles below the speed limit, in fact, I believe she used every pony under the hood and I am sure she straightened out a couple of curves and scared many squirrels. OK, Back to the car, looking sharp covered in red with a black hood scoop and black interior this classic pony car is sporting many new and upgraded components such as ball joint and upper control arm bushings as well as, seats, door cards, headliner and under the hood the 289 only has about 5,000 miles on it since it’s rebuild and the C6 about 2,000 miles and when it was rebuilt a shift kit was added. Topping the Ford small block is a New Holley® Carb and electronic ignition distributor. What could be better? Well, how about strapping an Air conditioning compressor to the engine, because sweating was ok when we were 18 but now we want to cruise in comfort. Options for this 1965 Mustang for sale include: Air conditioning, AM/FM CD player, Seat belts, Anti-theft system, Vinyl interior, and Rally rims wrapped with radial tires, see what I did there?
