There it is a 1939 Chevrolet Custom Truck and Trailer combo that is now for sale in our Houston Showroom. This truck is what we can call custom, and does not have any hard time winning trophies at any car show you choose to take it to. This truck is powered by a strong 313 CID Inline 6 which is plenty of power for this light weight beauty. The transmission the is paired up with the engine is a Ford C4 with a “Lokar” shifter. Both the engine and transmission were rebuilt by Owens Race Engine in Pearland. At a quick glance, it would be hard to determine this is a Chevrolet being it has a grill from a 1937 Hudson Terraplane, headlights from a ’30 Hudson, and taillights from a ’59 Cadillac Ambulance. Each time you look at this truck you will find something new or interesting, which was the intention of the truck as it climbed to the top of the competition at several previous car shows. The Carb intake is a Zenith TIN40 from a ’71 Porsche 911-T with Velocity Stacks. The 4-barrel intake is a Ford 300 Offenhauser with a Holly 570 “Street Avenger” mounted on top. The parts on this truck is like a time capsule ranging from parts dated back to the early 1900’s all the way up to the 90’s. What truly makes this truck an American classic is the WWII pieces that have been installed such as the brass hood and trunk handles from vintage WWII naval electric conduit clips, Zoomie heat shield from WWII zero recoil artillery shell casings, and the overhead switches from a B-29 Bomber. As you work your way down on this piece of history you see the truck and trailer both sit on OEM wheels from a ’41 Ford. The tires are in great shape and made by Diamond Back with Michelin rear cases. The trailer that comes with this truck is a ’36 Mullins which were only made in ’36-’37 in turn making this deal just that much sweeter. The interior is a tan color and in great condition, you will notice everything from the floors, carpet, and headliner are all in great shape. The interior keeps the flow going with the customization's it has as well such as the vintage faucets used for the dash switches. Engine: 283 CID V8Transmission: 4 Speed AutomaticMileage: 487 ( undocumented )
For sale in our Dallas-Fort Worth showroom is a 1937 Chevrolet Pickup. Chevrolet redesigned their half ton pickup for 1937, in an effort to entice new buyers and convince them of value that pickups had for personal use. This redesign was such a hit, that it eventually became the longest running bodystyle of truck that Chevy ever had. Not only was the ’37 Chevy truck a huge success as an original, but this resto-mod ’37 is sure to be a hit as well. This sweet build started with the original body metal, which was then painted a stunning silver on silver. Under the bed cover lies the icing on the cake: a bed with beautifully burled wood plank. The cab is stretched 12” and corner windows have been added. The front-end suspension is from a 1996 Corvette. Pushing that front end around corners is a 283 CID V8, paired to a 700R4 transmission, which routes power to the rear wheels through a 3.73 Posi rear end. The interior has modern creature comforts such as A/C, heat, and CD player. Power steering and power brakes make this exceptional truck 1937 Chevrolet Truck the complete package: a great looking, well done restoration, with great driving dynamics to boot. Engine: 6.2 L LS3 V8Transmission: 6-Speed AutomaticMileage: 1,192 ( since rebuilt )
Freshly-minted and now for sale in our Houston showroom is this spectacular all-steel 1938 Chevrolet Coupe. Cloaked in a stellar Porsche Guards Red PPG finish, this is one for all ages. The restoration started with the steel body shell, and a Superior Glass Works Chassis, with fully boxed steel frame rails. Everything was taken to bare metal before any finish work was begun. A new LS3 crate motor was installed, with a FAST intake and FAST fuel rails. A set of coated shorty headers and a full stainless 2.5” exhaust setup, complete with stainless X-pipe, scavenges the spent fuel to the rear with a throaty burble. To the aft of the beefy powerplant, a new 6L80E 6-speed automatic transmission with a 3200RPM stall torque converter to aid in providing excellent launches. The 6-speed auto provides excellent highway cruising capabilities, with surprisingly efficient operation. There are two dual finned-aluminum transmission coolers for the tranny to help it keep it at optimum temperature during spirited driving. Controlling the 6L80E’s shifts is a Corvette-style shifter, complete with electronic paddle-shift control capabilities on the gear knob. You’ll feel comfortable knowing that you can drive this thing like its sportscar powertrain wants you to, with handling and ride to match. The front end is a complete Heidts SupeRide II independent front suspension, with tubular upper and lower control arms, sway bar, QA1 adjustable coil-over shocks, 12” Wilwood disk brakes and calipers, and a power rack and pinion steering setup. Out back are QA1’s, a triangulated 4-bar link setup, torsion-style sway bar, an all-new quick-change Currie Ford 9” rear end and third member with 2.75:1 gears and a True-Track limited slip differential, and 11” Wilwood disk brakes and calipers complete with E-brake. The power-assisted braking setup is also equipped with a proportioning valve, allowing for fine-tuning the front/rear braking balance. A set of Nitto performance radials (215/50-17 front, 235/65-17 rear) wrapped around American Racing Salt Flat Special 5-hole wheels help keep this retro-rod stuck to the pavement. Inside this modernized classic, you’ll find that all the chrome trim shines like it’s brand new, and it is abundant. From the chrome window surrounds, windshield and rear window trim, to the door and window levers, everything glistens. There are a few hidden secret gems, too: the chrome window cranks don’t move – a light touch upward will raise the power windows, and a similar light touch will lower them. Equipped with what seems to be power everything, this car has plenty of creature comforts that one wouldn’t expect in a vintage auto. Power windows, power locks, a trick Painless “Phantom Key” Keyless Ignition with a proximity-sensing key fob (which provides a very cool pushbutton start and is part of the security system), custom Vintage Air system with billet nozzles, and power seats with 8-way adjustability and lumbar support cover most of the features, but not all. In addition, there is a Bluetooth compatible audio system that has near audiophile sound, USB ports on the console, cupholders, LED interior (and exterior) lighting, and tilt steering wheel all add up to providing a supremely comfortable, modern-feeling ride. The tinted glass all around help the Vintage Air system keep things cold in the summer, and toasty in those colder months (for when you can’t wait to drive this beauty until Spring). And, you’ll want to drive this car year-round, because when you’re in the cabin, the smell of the custom furniture-grade leather is intoxicating. This superb leather covers nearly everything including the headliner, and it provides such a pleasant aroma that it will make Bentley and Rolls owners jealous. If you do get caught in the rain, the 2-speed electric windshield wipers will keep your forward vision clear, and the powerful LED head- and tail-lights will keep the road lit (and keep you visible). Engine: 350 CID V8Transmission: 4-Speed AutomaticMileage: 7,000 ( since rebuilt )
Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to offer this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro for sale in our Houston showroom. Of special note, this is THE 1969 Camaro that Dale Earnhardt Jr. drove in the Goody's Headache Powders commercial, and comes with authentication (including Dale Jr.'s signature). One of the most iconic of the Pony Cars, the 1969 Camaro has developed a cult-like following. The Camaro was introduced in 1967 as Chevrolet's answer to combat the success of Ford's Mustang, which created a whole new vehicle segment, later dubbed "Pony Cars". For 1969, the Camaro received all-new sheet metal (except for the hood and trunk), which served to give the car a substantially sportier look. The grille was redesigned with the heavy “V” cant, and the headlights were given a new recessed position. New door skins, rear quarter panels, and rear valance panel also gave the car a much lower, wider and more aggressive look. The wheel wells were flattened with sculpted feature lines flowing off towards the rear of the car and rear-slanting simulated air slots were positioned ahead of the rear wheel. The front had a full width chrome bumper integrated with the body color grille surround and round parking lights positioned on either side of the license plate. At the rear were wider tail light bezels with triple segment lenses. This styling is considered by many Camaro enthusiasts as the ultimate muscle car look and arguably the most desirable. This car is presented in its original LeMans Blue paint (as depicted on the cowl tag), along with performance white stripe accents. Under the hood lurks a high-compression full roller 350 CID V8, built by Conroes Choice Automotive. It sports a pair of Edelbrock Performer aluminum heads and FAST EFI TBI Fuel Injection sits atop the Edelbrock hi-rise aluminum manifold. An MSD Digital 6AL ignition system helps boost the spark, while coated headers suction the exhaust gases into a 2.5" dual exhaust system, and the performance mufflers give it that throaty muscle car sound that enthusiasts crave. The hi-po 350 sends the power to the rear via a built 700R4 4-speed automatic, which twists the 3.90:1 gears in its 10-bolt Posi rear end. In the event you find yourself spending too much time in the throttle, savoring the high RPM howl this 350 makes, the two-piece slotted and drilled Wilwood rotors and their accompanying multipiston calipers up front will help you get back to legal digits quickly. Inside this cool coupe is an Ivory bucket seat interior (also noted on the cowl tag), which seems practically new, as does the black carpet. An Equus tri-gauge cluster above the console helps keep the driver informed about critical operating systems, as well. The console features a period correct "staple" shifter, with an updated gear indicator bezel, alluding to the 4-speed transmission (with "D-3-2-1" positions, rather than the "D-2-1" of a 3-speed auto). Additional features on this 1969 Camaro for sale include Vintage-style AM/FM Radio with Aux port, Power Brakes, Radial Tires, Seat Belts, and Vinyl Interior.
