What is that? It’s a classical 1948 Oldsmobile Series 66 that is now for sale here in our Gateway Classic Cars of Houston Showroom. These cars were originally called the series 60 but in 1941 both the 6 and 8-cylinder engines were available, so the name was changed to denote which size engine it had by the second digit of the series. The Series 66 represented the 6-cylinder engine and the Series 68 represented the 8-cylinder. This car is in good driving condition and in need of a new owner to take it to the local car shows. It is powered by a 238 CID Inline 6. This classic also features a hydra-matic 4-speed transmission to make for a nice cruising car. The two-toned green paint is in great condition and truly compliments the car. As you walk around the car you will notice the chrome trim is all in good condition along with a nice set of white walls to keep that old school style. Moving to the interior you will find the seats are in good condition with very minor tears. The floors, door panels, dash, and headliner are all in great shape. Gateway Classic Cars of Las Vegas is proud to offer this beautiful 1957 Oldsmobile 88. 1957 Oldsmobile 88 Coupe Oldsmobile showed a real propensity for power in the 50s. The 304-cu.in. OHV V-8 that the division introduced in 1948 ran 7.25:1 compression and had only 135hp on tap; by 57, less than a decade later, the base Rocket T-400 V-8 displaced 371-cu.in., sported 9.5:1 compression, and was rated at 277 horsepower-more than double the earlier 88s output. That was the base engine. For an extra kick in the pants, you could order the J2 option (code W). J2 had been around as a performance option since the early 50s, but for 1957 and 58, J2 ran three two-barrel carburetors. Historically, Oldsmobiles J2 beat Pontiacs Tri-Power to market by a matter of weeks. Olds had been developing 3x2-bbl carburetion for a couple of years under Pete Estes, an engine-development engineer and assistant chief engineer at Olds before he became chief engineer at Pontiac in September 1956. In December of 56, Pontiac announced Tri-Power for a spring release-no doubt prepared with information Estes brought with him from Oldsmobile. It caught his former co-workers off-guard, and they had to scramble to ready the J2 intake for a late January/early February launch as a mid-year option. This is one gorgeous 1957 Oldsmobile, and best of all it has the 371ci J-2 engine with three 2-barrel carburetors and the Hydramatic automatic transmission. The J-2 engine was rated at 300hp and 415 ft lbs of torque. This car doesnt have power steering or power brakes but that because when it was new it was ordered to go fast and didnt want the extra weight and power drain. In 1957 this was one of the fastest production cars on the market, and today is still such an iconic car. The exterior Pearl Blue and White 2-tone paint shines brilliantly in the sun against the chrome and stainless trim and bumper, while matching wheels and white wall tires complete the overall look. The entire body was stripped down to the metal before Dextron primer/sealer was added – along with the premium pearl paint. Several coats of clear were then added and buffed to a beautiful shine. Most of the original body panels are still on the car except for the right and left rear fender panels that were replaced and brand new. Under the hood sits the original 324 CID motor that was just rebuilt 3500 miles ago and bored .30 over along with a new Comp Cam and other internal parts. The automatic transmission was rebuilt at the same time as well. Inside, the beautiful 2 tone matching vinyl interior and headliner are in outstanding condition. The dark grey painted dash is in great condition as well and accents beautifully with the stainless trim. A new digital AM/FM RETROSOUND stereo was added, giving you up to date technology while still maintaining the retro appearance. For sale in our Tampa showroom is this time capsule of a 1990 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo. A little background on this vehicle. in mid-1987, Oldsmobile attempted to bolster sagging Toronado sales by introducing a sportier model called the Troféo, which boasted standard leather bucket seats, faux dual exhaust, more-aggressive styling, and a stiffer suspension (the highly regarded corporate FE3 package, with retuned shocks, struts and other components). The 1989 Troféo, which was no longer badged externally as a Toronado, could be ordered with the Visual Information Center: a dash mounted touch-screen CRT that controlled the vehicle's thermostat and radio and also supplied advanced instrumentation such as a trip computer. The VIC could also serve as the interface to an in-car hands-free cell phone. Troféo also received standard anti-lock brakes and a new steering wheel that featured buttons for radio and climate controls. Toronados now had standard bucket seats with console, although the split-bench seat was still offered as an option. 1990 saw Oldsmobile literally and figuratively going to great lengths to revive Toronado and Troféo sales. The hood was the only carry over sheet metal as Olds designers completely redesigned the body, particularly in the rear, increasing the overall length by about 12 in (305 mm). This 1990 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo has the original burgundy paint and matching interior. Powered by the 3800 V6 this Olds is ready to take you down the road with only 62,131 miles. This Oldsmobile is a survivor car that is mostly original. Recently this Oldsmobile has had a new A/C system and a new brakes system installed. Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this single family owned 1961 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight. These classic beauties make for great weekend cruisers and a Sunday driver. That is exactly what this car was used for through-out its lifetime. The current owners great grandfather drove this beauty to church every Sunday and kept in stored in a garage it’s whole life. Apart from some surface rust this car is a great survivor. This Old’s 98 is powered by the original and strong running 394 CID V8 also known as the “Sky Rocket” back in it’s prime. It’s stated by the owner of the vehicle that the mileage is original to the car. I will say based on condition of the car and the history it’s not impossible. For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass S convertible. This gorgeous Cutlass has been with the same owner since '81 and has been very well cared for and loved over the last 37 years. Painted in a beauituful dark blue with a white soft top and black vinyl interior. The rebuilt 350 makes great power, approximately 420 horsepower, and has covered around 4-5 thousand miles since the rebuild. The suspension has been gone through to make this a very nice car to drive. Driving this car, you have all of the cofidence in the world. Miles are showing 16,625 but has rolled over once. You wouldn't know it by driving though. Still feels like new! Equipment includes Power brakes, Power steering and a Power top. During restoration work, the seller was most concerned about safety and driveability. So the engine was beefed up a bit and is definetly making more power than original. The paint was sprayed in the lte 90's but the car has been stored indoors and still retains a great shine.The Cutlass was a mid-size car produced by Oldsmobile from 1966 to 1997. The Cutlass was replaced by Oldsmobile Intrigue for the 1998 model year. This Cutlass Convertible was built to cruise; top down, wind in your hair and the sound of a rumbling V8 out back. Yes please!
