Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this rare 1 of 370 built 1967 Acadian Canso Deluxe in our Louisville KY showroom. This is a tasty example of the Nova’s badge-engineered Canadian cousin, a ’67 Acadian Canso. Acadians were marketed by Pontiac dealers in Canada. Technically, they were not Pontiacs but a separate brand, though they shared some styling cues with Pontiacs of the era, for example the bifurcated grille. Acadians were never terribly common even north of the border, their annual production running in the piddling low thousands or even less. The brand existed for only a few years-from 1962 to 1971, when GM of Canada pulled the plug. After that, Pontiac-badged Nova’s were sold under the Ventura II name, just as they were in the USA. The current owner purchased this beauty out of Red Deer Alberta Canada in 2007 and has only needed to maintain it. Being a bit of a Nova fanatic, he was drawn to the unique styling and rarity of this show piece. Completely restored from the ground up, the deep candy apple red paint just gleams. Under the hood, the original 283 has been upgraded to a 327 with L79 specs and dressed out with tons of chrome. Even the underside of the Acadian sports more chrome and stainless, which is why this car sows so well at shows. The rest of the drivetrain includes a Muncie 4-speed and a 12 bolt posi-traction rear end loaded with 3.42 gears. Not only does this Acadian look great, it’s got a little muscle to back it up. Inside the Acadian, the interior from the carpet, the bucket seats, console, dash and headliner still looks fresh as if the Acadian was just assembled together yesterday. The only addition has been a set of gauges under the dash and a tachometer on the column. If you are looking for rare piece of automotive history, give us a call before another Nova/Acadian fanatic scoops this beauty up! Options for this 1967 Acadian Canso Sport Deluxe include; AM radio, Power Steering, Seat Belts and Rally Wheels with Radial Tires.
