Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville proudly presents this beautiful 1957 Chrysler 300. The 300 line was introduced in 1955 to give Chrysler a suitable platform for stock car competition and, given free rein to win at all costs, its engineers wasted no time netting back-to-back NASCAR championships. In 1957, hell-bent on elevating Chrysler to America's premier automotive brand, those same engineers took home top honors at Daytona's world famous Flying Mile. And by the time this long, low and sleek land rocket hit the streets it had officially broken America's stock car speed record, become one of the fastest production vehicles ever sold, and gained the nickname 'Motorized Dynamite'. Today these highly coveted classics are considered a significant step in the development of what we now affectionately call muscle cars, and they've long been the premier year for Chrysler letter car collectors.

With this car's 392 cubic inch Firepower V8 Chrysler created a big block legend that's still highly regarded as a revolutionary blend of performance and luxury. Not only does this hot Hemi mill produce 375 horsepower and twist stout 9.25 to 1 compression into 420 lb./ft. of torque. Induction is handled by a pair of gold air cleaners that are piped directly into two high performance Carter 4-barrel carburetors. Hop inside this handsome Chrysler and you'll find a spacious and airy driving environment which has enough room to haul the whole family in comfort and style.

This professionally restored 300C Convertible represents a huge milestone in the development of Chrysler Corporation as a powerhouse manufacturer. After tearing up the beaches in Daytona and shattering speed records at the firm's own Chelsea Proving Grounds, it single-handedly spawned the world-class performance image Chrysler's eponymous brand enjoyed well into the '70s. If you're a discerning gearhead who likes top-notch classics that draw crowds wherever they go, this high performance luxury machine will be a significant addition to your collection!

Options for this 1957 Chrysler 300 include; AM Radio, Power brakes, Power steering, Power Seats Power Windows, Vinyl Interior, White Wall Bias Ply tires with Wire Wheels. Don't miss out on this rare 1994 Ford Mustang Cobra convertible Indy Pace Car. This 1957 Chrysler 300 can be seen including 100+ HD pictures and video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. 1957 Chrysler 300 C

Engine: 392 CID V8 HEMI
Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 73564 ( actual )

The Gateway Classic Cars Tampa location is honored to have listed for sale this awesome 1957 Chrysler 300C convertible. Only 484 Convertible 300C Chryslers were made in 1957 and it is said that less than 50 are all that's left in running order! Sporting dual four barrel carburetors with NASCAR inspired dual air filters, this badboy was rated at 375 horsepower and 420 lbs of torque that topped out at 145+ miles per hour in the “Two Way Flying Mile.” The Chrysler 300 "letter series" were high-performance luxury cars built in very limited numbers by the Chrysler Corporation in the U.S. from 1955–1965. Each year's model used a new letter of the alphabet as a suffix (skipping "i"), reaching 300L by 1965, after which the model was dropped. 1957 was the first year a convertible was offered in the 300 series and was the pinnacle of performance and luxury. The Hemi head engine was backed by a 3 speed Torqueflite A488 automatic transmission which is great for cruising speeds, and really set the interior apart with its push button operation. Unlike later Chryslers, the 300C was built using body-on-frame construction; that would last through 1959. The 300C was based on the Chrysler New Yorker, with many changes that was more than just options and appearance. The height was just 54.7 inches; new dual headlights provided a claimed 75 feet more night vision. New 14-inch wheels were used. The 300C had a low stance, unique grille, large windshield, front door vent windows, brake cooling ducts, and a red, white, and blue emblem with the 300C logo on the quarter panel. Twin backup lights were perched above large tail lamps. Tail fins - or rear stabilizers, as Chrysler called them - reportedly increased stability at high speeds, resulting in 20% fewer steering corrections in cross-winds. This example maintains a classy look with White exterior and Tan interior with White top. With just 73,564 actual miles (verified on the title), this car would make a great addition to any collection. Options include: AM radio, convertible top, white wall tires, hub caps, bias ply tires, leather interior, power steering, power windows, and power seats (needs switch). Don't wait any longer for this extremely collectible car! Located in our Tampa Showroom, this 1957 Chrysler 300C for sale can be seen in greater detail including HD pictures and video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com, or call 813-645-6200 for additional information.
