This 1999 Plymouth Prowler is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The Prowler was produced from 1997 to 2002 and was based on the 1993 Concept car of the same namesake. Built off a design that the now legendary Chip Foose did while at the Art Center College of Design. The classic lines were an immediate show stopper but the open, Indy style front wheels are what really pulled people in. This example has only 11500 original miles verified by the clean CARFAX. The original owner had possession of the car until the end of 2011 and has since changed hands 3 more times with about 1000 miles put on it since then. With the cars being mainly for the collector it is not uncommon to see multiple owners. The purple paint is in excellent condition and was the original color of the first run of prowlers making it a terrific addition to any collection. The black leather interior is original to the car and is as comfortable as it looks. With the top up the car may look like it has absolutely no headroom but is quite spacious. However, this car should never be driven with the top up as it was intended to be a sunny day car. Pop the release and the soft top gets tucked away nicely out of the way giving the car a true roadster looks. With this car still retaining its factory bumpers, wheels, and paint it is sure to make any collector extremely happy. If you have been looking to get your hands on an unmolested example with low miles and a clean vehicle history report this purple beauty has all those quality’s and many more. Options on this 2001 Plymouth Prowler include; AC, AM/FM/CD, Power Windows, Power Locks, Manual Top, Leather Interior, and Aluminum Wheels wrapped with Radial Tires. 1999 Plymouth Prowler

1999 Plymouth Prowler

Engine: 3.5L V6 SOHC
Transmission: 4 Speed Automatic with Over Drive
Mileage: 17,605 ( actual )

The idea of this 1999 Plymouth Prowler started back in May of 1990 with the words “hot rod-style retro car” written on a note card. That led to a one-fifth-scale model and a sketch of a concept, which caught the eye of the Chrysler president Bob Lutz. Lutz ordered the building of a fully functional prototype, which was the car that got shown in Detroit. The reaction from the public was overwhelming! By September 1994, the green light was given to building the Prowler in limited numbers, with the goal of reviving the Plymouth brand as the Viper had done for Dodge. Corporate parts bins were raided for some of the Prowler’s components, including the 3.5L SOHC V6 and 4-speed “AutoStick” automatic transaxle from the Chrysler LHS and 300M. But utilizing the drivetrain from a front-wheel-drive vehicle in the rear-drive Prowler required great innovation, with the transaxle being modified and mounted in the rear, as with the C5 and C6 Corvettes. The Prowler foundation is an aluminum frame fabricated from the latest alloys. The body is also made of aluminum and sheet-formed plastic, joined together with a new compression fastening process. Suspension components are also aluminum, using a new forging process, and the front suspension was based on a Formula 1-like pushrod design that hid the coil-over shocks inside the body. All off the efforts put into new materials and manufacturing truly keep the weight down making this car very fun to try. The 214-hp V6 propels the 2,800-pound Prowler very nicely. (Motor Trend saw 0–60 in 7.1 seconds on a pre-production car). As Chrysler Chairman Bob Eaton said in telling the world that Chrysler would build the Prowler, “It’s for real, and either you get it or you don’t.” This Prowler with a black exterior is 1 of only 779 that were produced in 1999. Along with claiming the title of the world’s only factory-built hot rod, the Prowler may be the only production automobile offered with a matching trailer. Prowlers have only the smallest of trunk space, especially with the top removed, and the $5,000 option offered much-needed room for longer trips — again following hot-rod tradition. When you combine the trailer with the optional factory hard top it makes this even more of a rare find from our friends at Plymouth. 1999 Plymouth Prowler

1999 Plymouth Prowler

Engine: 3.5L V6 F SOHC
Transmission: 4-Speed Automatic w/ electric OD
Mileage: 28,190 ( actual )

Now for sale at Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is this sleek 1999 Plymouth Prowler. Between the eye catching paint job and the peppy engine, this car is definitely something you don't see every day. Under the pointed hood of this sweet ride is a 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine that runs well and provides plenty of power for this small, agile car. Although the engine only puts out around 250 horsepower, the car is quick thanks to a curb weight under 2,900 pounds. There are few V6 engines that sound very good, but this one sounds great! Sending the power to the rear end is a four-speed automatic transmission that shifts smooth, yet firmly through the gears to provide an engaging driving experience. Overall, the powertrain of this car feels solid and does much more with its power than one might expect. Moving inward, the driver will be greeted by a black leather interior thats pretty clean and in good condition. The seats are comfortable and provide good support for cornering and aggressive driving. In the summer time the driver will appreciate the convertible soft top that functions properly without binding. If the driver decides to keep the top up, the cabin will be kept comfortable thanks to air conditioning that blows cold. In the wintertime, the driver will appreciate the heat. This car also has convenience features including a radio/CD player, cruise control, power locks, tilt wheel, keyless entry, power mirrors, and an anti-theft system. Overall, the interior is comfortable, but can get cramped for anyone over 6'1". Moving outward, the extior is finished in a custom two tone burnt orange/ silver paintjob with ghosted orange flames using DuPont paint products. The pain is in decent condition with some imperfection, but nothing too major. The soft top is also in decent condition, especially for its age. The car sits atop chrome alloy wheels wrapped in rubber with decent tread life left. Overall, the car is in pretty good shape and drives well. This award-winning steel-body (fiberglass fenders) 1933 Plymouth Tudor is now for sale and viewing at our Saint Louis Gateway Classic Cars Showroom. If you've traveled the classic car show circuit, you may have run into this 1933 Plymouth at some point in time. The present owner bought it in 2011 Sugarland, Texas where it was built, but before that time and thereafter it has been entered and won many awards for its build and beauty. Even though her current body finish is closing on at being at least a decade old, the Vanilla Ice paint on the all-steel body (fiberglass finders) is still holding and showing very well. There are no unsightly chips, scratches, or dents anywhere on the exterior. The suicide doors open and close tight, and the widows roll up and down smoothly. The interior is composed of a dark plum, that is borderline purple and is color-coordinated with the wire coverings inside the engine compartment and the fancy decor on the outer-body. The woodgrain dash alongside the plum vinyl and fabric gives this 1933 Plymouth Tudor a classic look and feel. It is very clean on the inside and does not have any noticeable stains, tears, or odors. Underneath the hood is a 350 Chevrolet ZZ4 engine with 355 Horsepower. It also has a HEI distributor, GM performance dual plain intake, aluminum heads, and a camshaft hydraulic roller. Mileage: 63,502 ( actual )

We are tremendously proud to offer for sale this first generation 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner. It is available for viewing and inquiry at our Gateway Classic Cars Showroom in Saint Louis. One thing that should really excite you about this Mopar is the recently completed exterior paint job. The high-satin-gloss purple paint with gold stripes makes this Plymouth Roadrunner look strikingly royal. On the passenger-side rear there is a classic Plymouth Road Runner Standing Bird decal. There are just a couple minor imperfections that might withhold it from being truly award-winning show car quality, but for the uninitiated there is nothing pure joy to behold here.
