Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 1973 Mercury Cougar Convertible in Our Louisville Showroom. For 1971, the Cougar was restyled, weighed less, and had only a one-inch-longer wheelbase than its predecessors. The front end now featured four exposed headlights; the disappearing headlights were eliminated. The center grille piece was now larger, sharing its appearance with the 1971 Mercury Cyclone. The rear featured a semifastback with a "flying buttress" sail-panel. The convertible returned, as did the XR-7 and the GT package. Enough about history! This lovely example is equipped with 351 Cleveland V8. This cat is a factory equipped AC car, but please note the AC will need some minor attention as it is not blowing cold upon its arrival in showroom. The Metallic Blue looks to be a repaint, it is in nice shape and the color is very similar to the GM color of Marina Blue. The convertible top is white and really sets off the metallic paint. The interior has been done in a dark blue interior with white inserts. If you’re looking for a stylish Mercury Cougar that you can drop the top on and enjoy the summer breeze, call soon before its gone. Options for this 1973 Mercury Cougar Convertible; A/C (needs attention) AM Radio, Power Convertible Top, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, and Rally Wheels with Hub Caps/Beauty Rings wrapped in radial tires. 1970 Mercury Marquis

1970 Mercury Marquis

Engine: 429 CID V8 Cobra Jet
Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic
Mileage: 2,000 ( since rebuilt )

Our Detroit Showroom is proud to offer a very unique and rare 1970 Mercury Marquis Convertible. As the horsepower wars start to wind down, the American automotive scene started to take a turn where vehicles were focused on personal luxury and style. This awesome land yacht is the lucky recipient of a nice restoration to make it extremely presentable and ready for topless cruises. There were only 1,233 of these produced and even less that have been preserved and pampered like this one. With only 2,000 miles since it was restored, this Marquis has plenty of cruising life left. The gorgeous Blue paint is presentable and flows really nice with the Beige leather interior. The interior is a leather instead of a vinyl and makes a difference in comfort and appeal. Under the large hood rests a potent 429cid V8 that pumps out enough torque to get this beauty rolling with ease. The vehicle does come with it’s original set of wheels and shiny set of chromes to change the look if that is what your flavor. The 1970 Marquis is an iconic convertible that you rarely see on the road. This rare piece of American history is believed to be one of only a handful made with these exact options and the factory installed fiberglass hood. Decoding the trim tag indicates that this car is an original “S” code 390 CID V8 car.
