The slick black paint laid atop of the iconic 1950’s body lines on this classic Pontiac are to die for! This was the second generation of the Chieftain and back when it was being produced it featured cutting edge design qualities and a major upgrade under the hood. It was the first year that Pontiac dropped in the 316 CID V8 that was producing just over a whopping 190HP. Although it is not a true numbers matching car, you will still find a similar engine situated under the long heavy metal hood that has been freshened up. A trend that you will notice right away in both the interior and trunk area, is the well done tuck and roll upholstery. The extra labor that was needed to accomplish this look though was well worth it giving the car both a stylish 50’s look and a comfortable ride. While looking through the interior of this Chieftain, there was one thought that came to mind. What happened to this level of quality of craftsmanship and styling? The steering wheel alone has a glossy black paint with a chrome metal ring floating in the middle for the horn and a Chieftain emblem dipped in acrylic with a diamond background. This is the kind of attention to detail that has been lost over the years! The under carriage of this classic Pontiac is nearly as clean as the smooth finish on top and is show worthy. It is not just a pretty face! Jump in, turn the key, and almost instantly the V8 comes to life. It may be an automatic transmission, but don’t forget the parking brake! This transmission uses the neutral instead of a park position and relies on the parking brake to keep it from rolling away. Once the parking brake is removed, drop it into gear and cruise away with ease. The 316 has plenty of power to get you up to speed and cruises nicely. This Chieftain would make an excellent weekend cruiser that is guaranteed to turn heads where ever it goes! This vehicle is located in our Milwaukee showroom. For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a classic red 1964 Pontiac GTO. In 1964 the Pontiac GTO was introduced as trim level of the Tempest, and the Muscle car era took off. Eventually in 1966, the GTO earned its own model designation, and again a trim option from 1972 to 1974. The GTO made a late model comeback in 2004, but most agree that Pontiac dropped the ball on the design of the car, and it was gone again after the 2006 model year. Many muscle cars would come and go, but the GTO would always be considered one of the best and most desired. The 64’ GTO was smaller than later models, sporty, and very quick. The exterior of this 1964 GTO is coated in a bright red that stands out, loud and proud. Looking inside the classic muscle car you will find black vinyl interior with a the heavily desired center console. Under the hood is a 389 CID V8 engine that is mated to a 3-spd automatic transmission with a B&M shifter. One unique feature of this '64 GTO is the fact that it has a direct drive timing gear which gives the impression that maybe this Pontiac isn't naturally aspirated! The odometer reads 67,068, but the actual mileage is unknown. Options for this 1964 Pontiac GTO include: AM/FM Radio with CD Player, Power Steering, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Radial Tires, and Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. A red on black 1964 GTO is a welcomed addition to any show or cruise, the one that started it all always has a seat at the table. To view this 1964 Pontiac GTO in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video, please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com or our St. Louis showroom. This very original GTO was purchased brand new back 1964 from a dealership in Atlanta, Georgia and has been kept in the same family ever since! This numbers matching first generation GTO is a true survivor and is being offered up to a new home. Sitting under the hood is the 389 cubic inch V8 that is paired up to the original 2-speed automatic transmission. Both the engine and transmission are very strong even after all these years and have plenty of road trips our weekend outings left in them. The body on the car is straight and clean with only one repaint in the early 90’s where it was painted using the same color it came from the factory with. As you slide into the original interior and get comfortable in the bucket seats, it is as if you stepped back into 1964. The white vinyl interior contrasts nicely against the blue paint and the aluminum spun inserts top it all off. A couple pumps on the gas pedal and the turn of a key brings the 389 to life! Drop it down into drive and you are off and cruising. The suspension soaks up the bumps in the road yet is still tight and very controlled. The power steering and power brakes makes controlling this big car a breeze. This is 1964 GTO is what started the muscle car era and is now an icon in the American automotive scene. This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1964 Pontiac GTO in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. Engine: 454 CID V8Transmission: Turbo 400Mileage: 15000 ( since rebuilt )
For sale in our Nashville showroom is a 1964 Pontiac GTO. When I was young we used to say that the GTO stood for gas, tires and oil for the three things this car would burn though in a hurry if you had a heavy foot. This GTO for sale is coated in medium blue and looks like it was laid down yesterday. With straight body lines that are crisp and clean and a fresh coat of paint this car has an almost new look. Open the door and slide into the vinyl bucket seat and you are instantly transported back into the seventies. With the large steering wheel and horseshoe shifter in the center console this car screams classic muscle. But if you want to really hear a scream, open the hood and cover your ears. The scream you hear will be your on! Some will scream that the engine compartment contains a Chevy big block that measures 454 cubic inches, other will scream that it isn’t a Pontiac 389. Either way you have to agree that the muscle under the hood is sufficient to move this Pontiac GTO at a rapid pace and enough torque to bend the hinges on the driver’s seat. A holley ® four barrel carburetor feeds the fuel and a set of headers help to wish away the exhaust. Backing this rambunctious Rat is the bullet proof (please don’t attempt to disprove this theory) turbo 400 3 speed automatic transmission that handles the gears and shifts (pun intended) the power to the rear axle that houses a set of 3.73 gears. This classic muscle car for sale is sure to make you smile from the moment you see it until you slowly shut the garage door and turn off the light after your last drive. Options for this 1964 GTO for sale include AM/FM radio, Power steering, Power brakes, Hub caps, Seat belts, Hub caps, Radial Tires and Alloy wheels. Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 1960 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible. The 1960 Bonneville has a big, smooth, and impressive presence along with superior performance and handling for its time. The latter was not just ad copy, either, as Pontiac pushed its wheels further out toward the fenders than anyone else and created what were considered to be the best-cornering full-size cars in the industry. This exquisite example has gone through an extensive frame off restoration that was completed in 2000. The current owner has only put roughly 6,000 miles on the car since the restoration. The current owner has only put roughly 6,000 miles on the car since the restoration. The exterior is painted in a beautiful light blue exterior color and is accented nicely with a white power convertible top. The interior was also redone nicely in a tri-color blue vinyl with new seat covers and convertible boot professional redone in 2013. This '60 Bonneville Convertible is also outfitted with Kelsey-Hayes 8 Lug Aluminum Alloy wheels which 1960 was the first year they were offered on Pontiacs. If there is one thing most Trans Am admirers can agree upon, it is the disappointing output of the third generation’s 305 and 350 TBI/TPI motors. However, our newest arrival here at the Dallas Gateway Classic Car showroom has rectified this common complaint. This beautiful example of a 1987 Pontiac Trans Am GTA will not only have you floored in the visual department, but will exceed your performance expectations as well. A complete powertrain swap to a LQ4 6.0 V8 and 4L80E transmission from the boat-anchored 350 TPI she came with was performed by Larry’s Speed & Custom of Fort Worth approximately 3000 miles ago. No expense was spared in completing this build, and all necessary swap components were employed. Custom wiring harness, Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, Walboro 255 LPH fuel pump, Holley EFI fuel rails paired with an LS1 intake, billet coil brackets, LSSimple alternator kit, BMR adjustable torque arm, and BRP headers with muffler delete. Hawks motor mounts and a Blackheart transmission crossmember keep the new powertrain properly supported while you dust Vette-after-Vette. New calipers hugging drilled and slotted rotors insure a positive and pulse-free stop. Additionally, the interior was upgraded to a custom, yet tastefully-upgraded upholstery. The body of this GTA has only 82,688 miles, so this bird’s skeleton was a great candidate for this impressive and popular swap. For more HD pictures and video, visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com.
