1967 marked the first year of a six-year production cycle representing the fifth generation of the venerable Ford F-Series trucks. Within this group, the grille, exterior trim, interior cab fittings and engine choices were unique in the 1967 model year. The base power plant was a 240cid inline 6, while the king of the road sported a 390 cid (6.4L) V8.

The sweeping lines and big block engines available only make these cars more desirable and the reason they still bring premium money today. This example left the factory, as verified by the Mart report, with a 390 under the hood also known as an s-code. Taken done and built form the ground up the car is now packing a bored and stroked 390 with a total displacement of 445 cubic inches now giving this car a whole new level of power. Taken from a 69 T-Bird the motor now only has 500 miles on it since it was installed. The built c6 transmission handles all that power nicely shifting through all 3 gears without hesitation. The Ford 9-inch rear end has a 3.25 gear set making the car a pleasure to drive on the back roads and good enough to cruise down the highway. With the posi traction allowing for both rear wheels to lay down rubber at will. With the Grab-a-trac suspension gone through and rebuilt the car handles as if it was racing down the road in 1967. The upgraded Wilwood disc brakes bring this Pony to screeching holt just in case you right foot becomes a little too heavy. The paint on the car is slick and been taken back its original red with the base coat clear coat giving it an even deeper look. The ram air hood lets everyone know that this isn’t your average pony especially with the rumbling from that stroked out big block under the hood. A look inside shows that the original style parchment interior has been used giving the car that factory look. The magnum 500 wheels finish the car off nicely and were one the best wheels to leave the factory. It was in the Shelby Heritage Center in Las Vegas Nevada the last two years on display. This is the first Shelby-built FIA Group II, SCCA Trans Am Series Competition Mustang Coupe. VIN 7R01A164680. This is the first car built (of the 26 total Road Race Competition Coupes), Produced at the LAX, Shelby California Facility. Ordered/Purchased by George Kirksey (Associated Press/Houston, Texas, Professional Sportswriter, Shareholder of the Houston Astro Baseball Franchise, responsible for bringing Major League Baseball to Houston, Executive Promoter and amateur Porsche 911 SCA Club Race Car Driver). Partnered with Carroll Shelby and Freddie Van Beuren Sr. (Wealthy Businessman from Mexico) to purchase the very first, Shelby Competition Coupe, to compete in the 1967 SCCA Trans-Am/A-Sedan Championship. Purchased for the sum of $5,500 plus a $150 delivery charge. Delivered, sorted and used as a "mule" test car for the remaining 25 cars Shelby would build in 1967 by Chuck Cantwell and Jerry Titus prior to delivery at the Willow Springs, California Race Track (historical notes from Cantwell and Titus are available in the historical document files), to Sebring International Raceway for the second race (of the eleven-race series) of the 1967 Trans-Am Season (finished 41st/51 laps/Differential failure). Kirksey and VanBeuren Sr. named their Race Team Effort "dos caballos" (two horsemen). VanBeuren Sr. also owned a '65 Shelby Mustang GT350 "R-Model" that his son Freddie VanBeuren Jr. raced in SCCA B-Production and the 1967 12 Hour race at Sebring, International Raceway, Sebring, FL. This rotisserie restored 67 Fastback is one of the best-looking ones I have seen. Finished 3 years ago and only showing 967 miles on the custom gauges this 67 is ready to be driven. The black paint is of high quality with the red GTA striping appearing as if it is jumping off the car. The chrome accents look especially shiny while making that black look that much deeper. Those torque thrust wheels are the perfect complement to the black and chrome while giving it an updated look. As you peer through the front set you notice this car does have disc on the front giving it plenty of reliable stopping power. Born a 390 from the factory this Pony was born more of thoroughbred if you will. Though not believed to be the original engine it is a real deal 67 390 engine and it runs like one. Upgraded with a simple MSD ignition this FE big block fires right up with better throttle response than your typical 67 ignition systems. The C6 transmission shifts out nicely with second gear being an absolute monster in this it gives a whole new meaning to fastback. Inside the red interior is in beautiful condition and really sets the car apart. The original gauge cluster has been fitted with a set of custom dolphin gauges that really give the interior a clean update. The fold down or sport deck rear seat is a cool option and one that is not only sought after but extremely useful. All in all, this must be one of the nicest looking cars that I have seen. Available now in our DFW Showroom is this impressive 1967 Ford Galaxie! Period advertisements boasted that the Ford Galaxie 500 was quieter than a Rolls-Royce, which was their way of boasting about how well the engineers had done in isolating the new frame from the new body. The reasons for this were practical enough, it was the first year since 1956 that the Ford and Mercury full-sized cars again shared their essential architecture, basic frame and basic body structures (with variations), in a bid to increase profitability. The 1967 version of the Galaxie was reskinned, which produced new two-door hardtop/fastback rooflines. The LTD variant now shared the two-door roofline, but the rear side glass shape was altered for a more formal appearance, and technically speaking, LTD became a series of its own this year. This Ford Galaxie underwent a full restoration in 2008, at this time the motor was rebuilt along with the transmission too. The black and red interior, including matching dash, really stands out. Especially with the word “Galaxie” stitched on both the passenger and driver side bench seat and “Ford” in the backseat. It is also equipped with a set of Boston-acoustic speakers. Which can really help you hear the tunes as you’re flying around in this vehicle, windows down and wind in your hair. What is it that’s creating that wind? No folks, that’s not just a 390 decal on the side, that’s what this bad boy comes with, a rebuilt 390CID-315HP 4BBL, with a 4-speed manual transmission. We have a beautiful 1965 Ford Mustang here in our Milwaukee showroom. It is coated in a beautiful White paint with blue interior. It features a 289ci V8 with air conditioning, power windows, power locks, Power mirrors etc… This is an awesome car that runs great and looks fantastic! Several changes to the Mustang occurred at the start of the "normal" 1965 model year in August 1964, about four months after its introduction. These cars are known as "late 65's". The engine lineup was changed, with a 200 cu in (3.3 L) "T-code" engine that produced 120 hp (89 kW; 122 PS). Production of the Fairlane's "F-code" 260 cu in (4.3 L) engine ceased when the 1964 model year ended. It was replaced with a new 200 hp (150 kW) "C-code" 289 cu in (4.7 L) engine with a two-barrel carburetor as the base V8. An "A-code" 225 hp (168 kW; 228 PS) four-barrel carbureted version was next in line, followed by the unchanged "Hi-Po" "K-code" 271 hp (202 kW; 275 PS) 289. The DC electrical generator was replaced by a new AC alternator on all Fords (a way to distinguish a 1964 from a 1965 is to see if the alternator light on the dash says "GEN" or "ALT"). The Mustang GT version was introduced as the "GT Equipment Package" and included a V8 engine (most often the 225 hp (168 kW; 228 PS) 289), grille-mounted fog lamps, rocker panel stripes, and disc brakes. In the interior the GT option added a different instrument panel that included a speedometer, fuel gauge, temp. gauge, oil pressure gauge and ammeter in five round dials (the gauges were not marked with numbers, however.) A four-barrel carbureted engine was now available with any body style. Additionally, reverse lights were an option added to the car from August 1964 production. The Mustang was originally available as either a hardtop or convertible, but during the car's early design phases a fastback model was strongly considered. In 1965, the Shelby Mustang was born, it was available only in newly introduced fastback body version with its swept-back rear glass and distinctive ventilation louvers. The standard interior features of the 1965 Mustang included adjustable driver and passenger bucket seats, an AM radio, and a floor mounted shifter in a variety of color options. Ford added additional interior options during the 1965 model year. The Interior Decor Group was popularly known as "Pony Interior" due to the addition of embossed running ponies on the seat fronts, and also included integral armrests, woodgrain appliqué accents, and a round gauge cluster that would replace the standard Falcon instrumentation. Also available were sun visors, a (mechanical) remote-operated mirror, a floor console, and a bench seat. Ford later offered an under-dash air-conditioning unit, and discontinued the vinyl with cloth insert seat option, offered only in early 1965 models. One option designed strictly for fun was the Rally-Pac. Introduced in 1963 after Ford's success at that year's Monte Carlo Rally and available on other Ford and Mercury compacts and intermediates, the Rally-Pac was a combination clock and tachometer mounted to the steering column. It was available as a factory ordered item for US$69.30. Installed by a dealer, the Rally-Pac cost US$75.95.A 14" rim option was available for Rally-pac and GT350R vehicles widening front and rear track to 57.5". Reproductions are presently available from any number of Mustang restoration parts sources. A compass, rear seat belts, A/C, and back-up lights were also optional.
