Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 RS for sale in the Indianapolis showroom. This gorgeous red exterior and black vinyl interior Z28 was frame off restored approximately 15 years ago at approximately 49,000 original miles. The current owner has put the remainder of the miles (it currently shows 49,576 miles) on the vehicle in the last 5 years. With a 302 cubic inch V8 coupled to a 4 speed manual transmission feeding a 12 bolt 4:11 Positraction rear, and Rally wheels wrapped in radials, the power brakes and power steering complete the factory configuration. This vehicle is documented by the NCRS and shows that the official production date was 04/05/1968. The original delivery dealer was dealer code 242 in zone 49. The name and address of that dealer is believed to be Hornbeck Chevrolet Inc in Carbondale, Pennsylvania.

The Z28 performance package was designed (with further modifications) to compete in the SCCA Trans-Am series. It included a solid-lifter 302 V8, 4-speed transmission, power disc brakes, and two wide stripes down the hood and trunk lid.

The Z28 option code was introduced in December 1966 for the 1967 model year. It was the brainchild of Vince Piggins, who conceived offering "virtually race-ready" Camaros for sale from any Chevrolet dealer. This option package was not mentioned in any sales literature, so it was unknown to most buyers. The Z28 option required power front disc brakes and a close-ratio Muncie 4-speed manual transmission (posi-traction was optional). It featured a 302 cu in (4.9 L) small-block V-8 engine, 3" stroke crankshaft with 4" bore, an aluminum intake manifold, and a 4-barrel vacuum secondary Holley carburetor of 780 cfm. The engine was designed specifically to race in the Trans Am series (which required engines smaller than 305 cu in (5.0 L). Advertised power of this engine was listed at 290 hp (216 kW). This is an under-rated figure. Chevrolet wanted to keep the horsepower rating at less than 1 hp per cubic inch, for various reasons (e.g. insurance and racing classes). The factory rating of 290 hp occurred at 5300 rpm, while actual peak for the high-revving 302 was closer to 360 hp (268 kW) (with the single four barrel carb) and 400 hp (298 kW) (with optional dual-four barrel carbs) at 6800-7000 rpm. The Z28 also came with upgraded suspension, racing stripes on the hood and trunk lid, '302' front fender emblems on the 67 and early 68 cars, and 'Z28' emblems in late 68 & 69. It was also possible to combine the Z28 package with the RS package.

Only 602 Z28s were sold in 1967, along with approximately 100 Indianapolis Pace Car replicas. 7,199 Z28s were sold in 1968. The 1967 and 1968 Z28s did not have the cowl induction hood, optional on the 1969 Z28s. The 1967 Z28 received air from an open element air cleaner or from an optional cowl plenum duct attached to the side of the air cleaner that ran to the firewall and got air from the cowl vents. 15-inch rally wheels were included with Z28s while all other 1967-9 Camaros had 14-inch wheels.

The origin of the Z28 nameplate came from the RPO codes - RPO Z28 was the code for the Special Performance Package. RPO Z27 was for the Super Sport package.

1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS

Engine: 350 CID V8
Transmission: 4- Speed Manual
Mileage: 50,912 ( actual )

Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is excited to offer this rare 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z10 Pace Car Coupe! First, some history of the Z10, as excerpted from Chapter 12 of "The 1969 Camaro Reference Book" by John R. Hooper. PACE CAR HARDTOP - THE Z10 COUPE "Since 1969, the controversy over a Pace Car hardtop has existed. For many years, hobbyists and other so-called experts had different opinions on the existence of these cars. Finally, after many years the truth has come out. Yes, the Z10 Camaro does exist. It is thanks to the many Camaro clubs and enthusiasts whose efforts have brought the facts about these cars to light. The basic Z10 package has Rally Sport and Super Sport equipment, code 50-50 paint, cowl induction hood, and 396 or 350 cubic inch V8 engine. The transmission combinations from the automatic to the four-speeds were the same as the Pace Car convertibles. Most of the Z10 cars had factory air conditioning. Any option that was available for the Z11 Pace Car convertible was also available on the Z10. Different interiors used on the hardtop version consisted of 711 black standard, 712 black custom, 713 black houndstooth, 727 ivory standard, and 729 ivory houndstooth. It is rumored that interior 720 orange houndstooth could also be ordered. Some of the options used were rosewood steering wheel, tilt steering column, fold down rear seat, a factory 3-speed transmission with console on the floor, vinyl roof cover, among others. The Z10 cars were a Southwestern Regional promotional car offered to a small number of dealerships in the Southwestern Branch Zone Office during Indy race time. We know now that they were available in Texas, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Arizona, and possibly other states. We may never know exactly how many were built, however we believe it to be between 200 and 300 built at Norwood. There were no records kept at Chevrolet Motor Division's offices. Since this was a one-time promotion, the customer did not have a chance to order the car but had to buy it off the dealer's lot. The Z10's appear to have been built between 04C (third week of April) to 05A (first of May) -- possibly longer...While these cars do not compare in rarity with COPO or ZL-1 cars, they still hold a place 1969 Camaro history." Now - about the one we have: like all Z10 Camaros, it is wearing a glistening coat of Dover white, with contrasting Hugger Orange stripes. This one shows a date code of 05A, designating a build date of the 1st week of May, 1969. Under the hood is a 350 CID V8 (300HP), one of the two available engine options for the Z10. The mighty mouse is mated to a smooth shifting Muncie 4 speed manual, which sends the twist to the 12 bolt rear end. Twist the ignition key, and it fires right up into a nice rich burble, sound aided by the addition of some Hooker Competition headers that funnel the exhaust into a well-executed dual exhaust with FloMaster mufflers. Ease it into first, and mash the gas, and you'll remember why you loved these cars so much! While you're cruising, flick on the A/C to keep cool - the system has been upgraded with a new R134 compressor, so it's easily serviceable by any shop. When it's time to get the speed down from the quickly-reached triple digit territory, the front discs are up to the task. Inside, you'll see that the rich black interior looks almost new, with its synthetic leather seating and carpet virtually devoid of any signes of use. The addition of an Autogage cluster by AutoMeter helps the driver keep tabs on critical operating conditions, and the Sunpro Supertach II tach aids in hitting those shift points. Why not own one of these rare pieces of history, before they're all gone?! Options on this rare 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z10 include A/C, AM Radio, 711 Trim Code Black Vinyl Interior, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Radial Tires, Rallye Wheels with beauty rings, and Seat Belts. For more information on this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z10, please call the Houston showroom at (832) 243-6220; or email us at "Houston@GatewayClassicCars.com". 1969 Chevrolet Camaro

1969 Chevrolet Camaro

Engine: 383 CID V8
Transmission: Muncie 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 8,481 ( since rebuilt )

The Atlanta Showroom is offering this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS. This Camaro SS has about 10,000 miles since the rebuild. It sports a 383 Muncie 4 speed to propel this restored street brawler in the front of the pack. The 3:54 rear gears are suited for driving between stop lights or down the highway. Vintage Mustang did the rebuild on this hugger orange bad boy. There is a stack of receipts with all the build details which will total over the asking price and that’s before the value of a car was added to the mix. You can be the one to gain the rewards of sweat, time, and funds. The 1969 Camaro carried over the previous year's drivetrain and major mechanical components, but all-new sheet metal, except the hood and trunk lid, gave the car a substantially sportier look. The grille was redesigned with a heavy "V" cant and deeply inset headlights. New door skins, rear quarter panels, and rear valance panel also gave the car a much lower, wider, more aggressive look. This styling would serve for the 1969 model year only. Collectors often debate the merits of smooth, rounded lines of 1967 and 1968 model versus the heavily creased and sportier looks of the 1969. The 1969 model year was exceptionally long, extending into November 1969, due to manufacturing problem that delayed the introduction of the second generation model planned for 1970. It is a popular myth late-'69 Camaros were sold as 1970 models (due to GM publicity pictures of the '69 Camaro labeled as a 1970), but they were all assigned 1969 VIN codes. Options include: Power Steering, Power Brakes, Custom Wheels, Vinyl interior, radial tires, seat belts. 1969 Chevrolet Camaro COPO Tribute

Engine: 427 CID V8
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 2 ( since rebuilt )

For sale in our Dallas Fort Worth showroom is a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Copo Tribute. Over the years, COPO has become synonymous with Chevy’s monster-displacement Camaros. It’s a term that is still used today by Chevrolet for the purpose-built drag racing Camaros, which are released year after year, just 69 units at a time. But what does COPO really mean? An acronym for “Central Office Production Order,” COPO was the method used by dealers in the know who could use it to order options, or a combination of options, that weren’t specifically listed on the order forms. The most famous use was when dealers used the COPO system to circumvent GM’s 400-cu-in limit on anything that wasn’t a full-size car or a Corvette. If you knew what dealers to go to and who to talk to, you could have used the COPO system to order a factory installed 427 in a 1969 Camaro or Chevelle. This COPO Tribute was done up in fresh Yellow paint with black interior. The engine is a 454 block with 427 internals, that is backed up by a 4 speed manual transmission. This combo packs the punch you expect from big block in a small bodied car! Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is excited to offer one of the most iconic cars in the history of automobiles - a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS convertible for sale right now in our Arizona showroom. Painted a beautiful shade of Hugger Orange with a white manual convertible top, it'll give you many smiles per gallon. Pair that up with a black and white Houndstooth interior, and this is a color combination that's hard to beat. This car runs, drives, handles, steers, and stops like you'd want and expect it to, the only thing is the current owner does not have the paperwork to document this is originally a big block 4-spd model. He bought the car as seen here, and was never able to confirm that this was the powertrain it had from GM. If it was documented, you better believe the price would be a lot higher and the new owner probably wouldn't drive it for fear of damaging an investment-grade automobile. With this Camaro, you can go out and have fun with it, enjoying the torquey engine, shifting through the gears, and feeling the sun and wind in your face. It also cannot be documented that this is a real RS/SS model, but again, it is now and can be enjoyed as such. It's still "is what it is". It's an attractively priced first gen Camaro equipped just right at a fraction of the price of a documented car. Don't miss this iconic 1969 Chevy Camaro convertible for sale right now in our facility. Engine: 496 CID V8
Transmission: 6 Speed Manual
Mileage: 5,139 ( since rebuilt )

See this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Resto-Mod on display in our Atlanta showroom. The Atlanta Showroom is proud to offer this 454 Powered Camaro Resto-Mod. This 1969 Camaro took nearly 4 years to build with meticulous attention to detail and upgrades to make this Camaro look as appealing as it does. The 454 was bored to a 496 rated at 650-hp, 675-Lbs torque, with just 4,500-miles since being shoe-horned into the engine bay. Attention was taken for the cooling and look of this beast, by the addition of a Be Cool aluminum radiator, with dual fans, powder coating on core support as well as fender wells, and Billet Specialties True Track serpentine belt system. Power is transferred to a Magnum T-56 6-speed manual transmission, and on to a Moser True Track 9” rear end with 411 gears. Stopping is handled by Hydra Tech brake system, utilizing Baer 11” brakes on all 4-corners. The car was also updated by the Detroit sub frame connectors, mini tubs, Rick’s Stainless Vaporworx fuel tank. There is too much to list, both performance and body wise upgrades that have been add - but if you’re interested, we have a list supplied by the owner. She was built to drive and look good doing it! You can take this Camaro to your local show, or a long comfortable cruise with ease. You can enjoy all of the modern amenities you’d expect in a car like this – from the, leather interior, vintage a/c, power steering, power brakes, power windows, to the JL Audio stereo system. The impressive British Green with white stripe paint shows extremely well and does a great job of showing off meticulously worked body lines. The complete custom interior is what also separates this Camaro from the crowd. To replicate this build, it would take years to complete and well over 6 figures to get everything up to par with the quality of this build. You can save yourself the time and effort and start driving this one tomorrow! Now for sale in our Houston showroom is an awesome 1972 Chevy Camaro. This well-equipped Camaro is wrapped in an Emerald Metallic and has a black interior with high back buckets that are plenty comfortable. At first glance, this nostalgic second gen Camaro has a menacing stance and the stout 350 CID V8 does an excellent job of moving this Camaro’s weight around. To keep the healthy V8 in the cool zone, a big Champion Cooling Products aluminum radiator (with a built-in trans cooler) has been installed, along with twin electric fans. Fire it up, and the mighty mouse produces a throaty rumble through its Flowmaster-equipped dual exhaust. Backing the rumbling 350 is a 3-speed automatic transmission controlled by a staple shifter, and a set of SunPro gauges help the driver keep tabs on critical engine functions. Make your way into the cockpit, and you'll feel like you've been taken back in time. Black abounds, with black vinyl seats, carpet, door panels, and trim.
