Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to present this 1965 Mustang coupe for sale in our Indianapolis showroom. This 1965 Mustang with a 289 cubic inch V8 and automatic transmission has 69,788 actual miles on the odometer and is a numbers matching vehicle. Presented in white with a new candy apple red interior and the addition of power steering, this 1965 Mustang is a beautiful and crisp example of the breed. The first-generation Ford Mustang was manufactured by Ford from March 1964 until 1973. The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the pony car. The Mustang’s styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of competition. It was initially introduced on April 17, 1964, as a hardtop and convertible with the fastback version put on sale in August 1964. The 289 V8 in this vehicle is rated at 200hp at 4400 rpm and 282 lb-ft of torque at a low 2400 rpm, making for a very responsive car. For sale in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom is a hand fabricated full steel 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback. Yes, you read that correctly, no fiberglass on this pretty pony, just pure hand fabricated steel done the old-fashioned way on an English Wheel. Fabricated body panels include; hood, hood scoop, front air dam, wheel flares, side exhaust rocker panels, upper and lower scoops, rear trunk and spoiler, lower pan, tail lights, recessed license plate, and engine compartment panels. The attention to detail on this Mustang is incredible, the builder even put thought in to making it something you could jump in and drive with cold air conditioning, upgraded custom leather bucket seats, and a 7-speaker sound system. Getting you to the car show in style and with speed, your power train includes a fresh 351 Windsor backed by a 5 speed Tremec transmission. Making the ride comfortable is the new Heidt’s front coil over suspension, and you don’t have to worry about stopping with those big Wilwood disk brakes all the way around! Once you get to the show, simply hit the hide-a-plate key fob and watch your front plate disappear under the car so you can show off that custom all steel front bumper. All in all, you would be hard pressed to find a nicer all steel custom 1965 Mustang Fastback. You most certainly won’t be able to build another one like this for the money! The year is 1965, Racing driver Jim Clark wins the Indianapolis 500, and later wins the Formula One world driving championship in the same year. While this gorgeous Ford Mustang rolls off the assembly line, trying to keep up with the demand of the public. Now recently rebuilt starting with the 289 V8, A/C, power steering, backed by an automatic transmission, digital dash, vinyl interior. Lee Iacocca's assistant general manager and chief engineer, Donald N. Frey was the head engineer for the T-5 project—supervising the overall development of the car in a record 18 months—while Iacocca himself championed the project as Ford Division general manager. The T-5 prototype was a two-seat, mid-mounted engine roadster. This vehicle employed the German Ford Taunus V4 engine. It was claimed that the decision to abandon the two-seat design was in part due to the increase in sales the Thunderbird had seen when enlarged from a two-seater to a 2+2 in 1958. Thus, a four-seat car with full space for the front bucket seats, as originally planned, and a rear bench seat with significantly less space than was common at the time, were standard. A "Fastback 2+2", first manufactured on August 17, 1964, enclosed the trunk space under a sweeping exterior line similar to the second series Corvette Sting Ray and European sports cars such as the Jaguar E-Type coupe. Favorable publicity articles appeared in 2,600 newspapers the next morning, the day the car was "officially" revealed. A Mustang convertible also appeared in the James Bond film Goldfinger in September 1964 To view the car in greater detail, including an HD video and 100+ HD pictures please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com or our Denver showroom. For sale in our Nashville showroom is a 1965 Ford Mustang fastback. This “A” code fastback for sale features one of the finest small blocks ever made the 289 4V this amazing small block is well known to produce snappy revolutions that lead to tire smoking launches and red-faced Camaro drivers. This little pony has been owned by the same filly for the past 31 years and has been lovingly cared for and restored. Now I am not going to try to convince you that the lady who owns this 1965 Mustang Fastback for sale only drove it to Church at 10 miles below the speed limit, in fact, I believe she used every pony under the hood and I am sure she straightened out a couple of curves and scared many squirrels. OK, Back to the car, looking sharp covered in red with a black hood scoop and black interior this classic pony car is sporting many new and upgraded components such as ball joint and upper control arm bushings as well as, seats, door cards, headliner and under the hood the 289 only has about 5,000 miles on it since it’s rebuild and the C6 about 2,000 miles and when it was rebuilt a shift kit was added. Topping the Ford small block is a New Holley® Carb and electronic ignition distributor. What could be better? Well, how about strapping an Air conditioning compressor to the engine, because sweating was ok when we were 18 but now we want to cruise in comfort. Options for this 1965 Mustang for sale include: Air conditioning, AM/FM CD player, Seat belts, Anti-theft system, Vinyl interior, and Rally rims wrapped with radial tires, see what I did there? Thank you for your interest in this sleek 1965 Ford Mustang located in our Tampa location. This car is a true piece of Ford history that simply turns heads anywhere it cruises by. The Twilight Turquoise green paint scheme with black vinyl top have made this car really stand out against other Mustangs in its class and is the way this car came from the factory when it was new. This rare 200 CI 6 cylinder and 3 speed manual transmission have been completely rebuilt just under 11,000 miles ago. The 200 CI 6 is rated at 120 horse power but sure feels like more. Contrary to popular belief, the first model year for the Ford Mustang was 1965. Mustangs produced between March 9th and July 31st of 1964 are often coined the 1964 ½ Ford Mustang by enthusiasts, but for all intents and purposes, the cars are 1965 models on paper. The 1965 Mustang listed is built after the time line and is an actual 1965 with the 200 inline 6. This particular Mustang has been restored and redone about 7 years ago and has a 170 sticker on the air breather but it is in fact the 200 due to there being 5 freeze plugs in the block. It has recently had new tires and brakes put on it. The overall condition of the paint, interior, and engine in my opinion would rate as show quality. This car has many options like Air conditioning, AM/FM radio, black vinyl interior, and even white wall tires which makes the cars driving ability comfortable. If you are looking for the first classic car investment or even adding to one and need that super clean Mustang, this is the car for you. This 1965 Mustang is for sale in our Tampa Showroom and can be viewed in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. For additional information, please call our knowledgeable staff at (813)645-6200 or email us at Tampa@GatewayClassicCars.com. Now for sale in our Houston Showroom this 1965 Ford Mustang Eleanor tribute. This car was restored to replicate one of the most iconic Fastback Mustangs in movie history. If you’re not familiar with “Eleanor” then you need to go sit down and watch “Gone in 60 seconds”. This Fastback is powered by a rebuilt 302 CID V8 in which the work was completed by “American Dream Machine”. This car runs like a top and has a nice grumble to it as well. The rebuild took place back in 2015 and the car has been well maintained since then. Some additional upgrades include new sway bar, disc-brakes, A/C, electric fan and radiator. With the sleek silver and black paint, the car is sure to turn some heads. The interior is in great shape with the classic black leather interior. The gauge cluster has been left in the original styling to keep the classic look. A more modern AM/FM stereo was installed but still has a vintage look. The vintage air on this beauty blows nice and cold to keep you comfortable in the summer months. Engine: 331 StrokerTransmission: TKO 600Mileage: 1,936 ( since rebuilt )
This 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 2+2 is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The 65 Fastback was an instant success as soon as it went on sale. With the know how of a guy named Carrol Shelby the car would be great track weapon and helped to propel the fastback to legendary status. People still today love the lines and the relatively small size of these cars making them perfect candidates for some serious performance upgrades. This 65 is a great example of exactly that keeping the body lines and simply pumping up the performance aspect. The red paint is clean and shows very well with the white strip right above the rockers breaking up the red nicely. The scoop on the hood helps to give the car that aggressive look. The Magnum 500 Wheels are classic Mustang and finish off the exterior of this 2+2 nicely. Under the hood is a recently built 331 stroker motor that only has 1000 miles since being built. A full roller motor this is an engine that will last. The Comp cam is the perfect mix of bottom end grunt while having a nice top end pull. The Trick Flow aluminum heads are a great set and really allow this small block to perform at its best. Exhaust gas is taken out through the headers and into dual 2.5” pipes all the way back allowing for a nice and deep sound. Backing up that 331 is another top of the line component, a TKO 600 allowing for complete control. The Moser 9” rear-end with a true-trac diff allows for nice smoky burnouts. The Cal-trac monoleaf springs and traction bars help to place the power on the ground while stiffening up the rear. When you have the ability to go this fast you need to be able to stop as well. The 4-wheel Wilwood set up has that part taken care of allowing for aggressive stops with very little pedal fade. Inside the seller has went with an original style interior with a couple custom touches. The dash has been built and installed using AFR gauges with a very straight forward layout. The shifter is in the perfect spot with the E-brake moved to a handbrake position. If you have been wanting to get into a great looking 65 Fastback that performs just as good this red 2+2 is the car for you. Options on this 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 2+2 include; AM Radio, Spare Tire and Jack, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Posi-Traction, and Alloy Wheels with Radial Tires. We have a beautiful 1965 Ford Mustang here in our Milwaukee showroom. It is coated in a beautiful White paint with blue interior. It features a 289ci V8 with air conditioning. This is an awesome car that runs great and looks fantastic! Several changes to the Mustang occurred at the start of the "normal" 1965 model year in August 1964, about four months after its introduction. These cars are known as "late 65's". The engine lineup was changed, with a 200 cu in (3.3 L) "T-code" engine that produced 120 hp (89 kW; 122 PS). Production of the Fairlane's "F-code" 260 cu in (4.3 L) engine ceased when the 1964 model year ended. It was replaced with a new 200 hp (150 kW) "C-code" 289 cu in (4.7 L) engine with a two-barrel carburetor as the base V8. An "A-code" 225 hp (168 kW; 228 PS) four-barrel carbureted version was next in line, followed by the unchanged "Hi-Po" "K-code" 271 hp (202 kW; 275 PS) 289. The DC electrical generator was replaced by a new AC alternator on all Fords (a way to distinguish a 1964 from a 1965 is to see if the alternator light on the dash says "GEN" or "ALT"). The Mustang GT version was introduced as the "GT Equipment Package" and included a V8 engine (most often the 225 hp (168 kW; 228 PS) 289), grille-mounted fog lamps, rocker panel stripes, and disc brakes. In the interior the GT option added a different instrument panel that included a speedometer, fuel gauge, temp. gauge, oil pressure gauge and ammeter in five round dials (the gauges were not marked with numbers, however.) A four-barrel carbureted engine was now available with any body style. Additionally, reverse lights were an option added to the car from August 1964 production. The Mustang was originally available as either a hardtop or convertible, but during the car's early design phases a fastback model was strongly considered. In 1965, the Shelby Mustang was born, it was available only in newly introduced fastback body version with its swept-back rear glass and distinctive ventilation louvers. The standard interior features of the 1965 Mustang included adjustable driver and passenger bucket seats, an AM radio, and a floor mounted shifter in a variety of color options. Ford added additional interior options during the 1965 model year. The Interior Decor Group was popularly known as "Pony Interior" due to the addition of embossed running ponies on the seat fronts, and also included integral armrests, woodgrain appliqué accents, and a round gauge cluster that would replace the standard Falcon instrumentation. Also available were sun visors, a (mechanical) remote-operated mirror, a floor console, and a bench seat. Ford later offered an under-dash air-conditioning unit, and discontinued the vinyl with cloth insert seat option, offered only in early 1965 models. One option designed strictly for fun was the Rally-Pac. Introduced in 1963 after Ford's success at that year's Monte Carlo Rally and available on other Ford and Mercury compacts and intermediates, the Rally-Pac was a combination clock and tachometer mounted to the steering column. It was available as a factory ordered item for US$69.30. Installed by a dealer, the Rally-Pac cost US$75.95.A 14" rim option was available for Rally-pac and GT350R vehicles widening front and rear track to 57.5". Reproductions are presently available from any number of Mustang restoration parts sources. A compass, rear seat belts, A/C, and back-up lights were also optional. This vehicle is located in our Milwaukee showroom. You can view this 1965 Ford Mustang in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. Gateway Classic Cars of Saint Louis is thrilled to offer for sale this very nice white 2002 Ford Thunderbird convertible. BACKGROUND: After a five-year hiatus, Ford re-introduced its retro-futuristic 11th generation (2002-2005) Ford Thunderbird according to the 1st generation formula, as a two-seat coupe/convertible layout reminiscent of the first-generation. This 11th generation Thunderbird was built on the same platform as the Lincoln LS and Jaguar S-Type. It also shared an instrument panel, steering wheel, and other trim pieces with the Lincoln LS. The sole engine of the Thunderbird was a Jaguar-designed AJ-30 3.9 L DOHC V8, a short-stroke variant of the Jaguar AJ-26 4.0 L V8, making 252 horsepower and 267 lb·ft of torque. The engine was mated to Ford's 5R55N 5-speed automatic transmission. This particular 2002 Ford Thunderbird is just what you have been looking for. It only has 39,800 odometer miles and exterior body doesn't have any scratches, dents, or imperfections. The chromes wheels have not been damaged by curbside parking. One of the most attractive features about the 11th generation Thunderbird is the round rear window (blind spot issues aside). The removeable hardtop on this Thunderbird is in impeccable condition. The interior condition matches the appearance of low usage that the exterior has. The leather seats do not show any excessive wear, the dash looks great, all the gauges and instruments function as new, and there are no noticeable scratches, tears or odors. The convertible top is clean and closes tight. Mechanically, as you can see and hear in the video, this 2002 Ford Thunderbird has all the power and ambition it had as when it first rolled off the assembly line. It runs smooths, changes gears seamlessly, and has a great turn radius. Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this beautiful 1966 Ford Mustang for sale. The car is powered by a rowdy 289CID V8 which has enough power to throw you back in your seat. The powerhouse in this car is backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission that will undoubtably get all that raw power to the rear tires. This car sports a unique but subtle yellow with accommodating, but not gaudy, black racing stripes. The aftermarket rims further expand this car’s sporty appeal. Once you open the door and peer into the crisp and clean black vinyl interior, you will want to hop right into the driver’s seat. While admiring the beautiful vinyl interior, you can then roll down the windows and watch the heads turn anywhere you go. This car is meant to be a show stopper and will always draw attention, especially when the chrome accents and bumpers glisten into the eyes of everyone standing around the car. Pre-1970 Mustangs are known for being on the smaller side of vehicles; however, size does not matter when you have adjustable seats, which are available on this Mustang. Options on this unique and powerful 1966 Ford Mustang include: custom wheels, power brakes, wipers, seat belts, AM/FM radio, vinyl interior, and radial tires.
