1969 Chevrolet Camaro COPO Tribute

1969 Chevrolet Camaro COPO Tribute

Engine: 427 CID V8
Transmission: 4 Speed Manual
Mileage: 82 ( since rebuilt )

For sale in our Dallas Fort Worth showroom is a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro COPO Tribute. Over the years, COPO has become synonymous with Chevy’s monster-displacement Camaros. It’s a term that is still used today by Chevrolet for the purpose-built drag racing Camaros, which are released year after year, just 69 units at a time. But what does COPO really mean? An acronym for “Central Office Production Order,” COPO was the method used by dealers in the know who could use it to order options, or a combination of options, that weren’t specifically listed on the order forms. The most famous use was when dealers used the COPO system to circumvent GM’s 400-cu-in limit on anything that wasn’t a full-size car or a Corvette. If you knew what dealers to go to and who to talk to, you could have used the COPO system to order a factory installed 427 in a 1969 Camaro or Chevelle. This COPO Tribute was done up right with a complete nut and bolt restoration. Completed in Oct 2016, 82 Miles have been put on the car since being completed. This car has all the right stuff, a new 427CID BBC Estimated at over 500hp, topped with super rare original L88 Winters Snowflake heads. This combo packs the punch you expect from big block in a small bodied car! This is one of the few know 1969 Camaro’s with cowl tag stamped “NBR” vs “NOR”. Correct Chambered exhaust, OEM Exhaust manifolds, Winters Intake, 850 Holley Carb, Cowl Induction, Solid Lifter Cam that provides an amazing old school sound. Complete body and drivetrain restoration, 12 bolt 4.10 Posi Rear end, disc brakes, M21 Muncie Trans, OEM style Polyglas tires on OEM color matched rims with dog dish hub caps. Nothing was spared on this restoration, with papers listing over 90k of work done. The car is painted in its original color of Garnet Red, The exterior is finished in base coat clear, professional 4 stage wet sand and 3 stage power polish. The interior is just as nice as the exterior, finished in standard black trim, every item in this car is new. Radio delete, 140mph speedo, new hurst shifter, new carpet, new seats, tilt steering, power steering, power brakes. 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

Engine: 427 CID V8 435HP L71
Transmission: 4-Speed Manual
Mileage: 45,896 ( undocumented )

1969… That was the year for the L-71 Corvette and we have a stunning blue on blue Corvette here for sale. It features an L-71 427ci 435hp tri power car. It is in amazing condition and features a 4 speed manual transmission. Take a closer look at this beauty! In 1969, Tire size remained the same, although this was the first year for optional white lettered tires and the last for red striped tires. Carried over from the previous year were seven available rear axle ratios ranging from 2.73 to 4.56. Standard ratio remained 3.08 with automatic and 3.36 with manual transmission. The optional Positraction rear axle, mandated on many engine/gearbox combinations, was installed on more than 95% of the cars. "Stingray" script nameplates appeared on front fenders, now one word, in contrast to the “Sting Ray” name used previously. Exterior door handles were redesigned so the finger plate would actuate the door, eliminating the separate release button. Backup lights were integrated into the inboard taillights, headlight washers were added, and front grilles were made all black. Side mounted exhausts and front fender vent trim were options for this year only. On the inside, revised door panels provided additional shoulder room in the C3's tighter cabin and headrests became standard. Steering wheel diameter was reduced from 16 to 15 inches to permit easier entry and exit, the ignition switch was moved from the dash to the steering column, and map pockets were added to the dash area in front of the passenger seat. Accounting for 57% of the cars, coupes with their removable roof panels, began a trend of outselling roadsters. An extended production cycle due to a labor dispute increased '69 volume. This was the last year for the L88 engine and the only year for the ZL1 option, which offered an all-aluminum 427 cu in (7.0 L) big-block engine listed at 430 hp (321 kW). Rare options: ZL1 aluminum block (2), J56 heavy-duty brakes (115), L88 engine (116), L89 aluminum heads (390). This vehicle is located in our Milwaukee showroom. You can view this beautiful 1969 Corvette in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. 1978 Chevrolet Corvette

1978 Chevrolet Corvette

Engine: 355 V8 Supercharged
Transmission: 3-Speed Automatic
Mileage: 14,634 ( undocumented )

Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia is excited to welcome this Pro Street 1978 Chevrolet Corvette to our showroom. Pro street cars are not always built with drivability in mind. The owner of this car however built it so that it feels very comfortable on the highway. This Corvette started life as a 1978 Corvette Pace Car. There are very few traces of that car remaining today. The outside is finished in Meadow Green Metallic. The interior is Black and in excellent condition. The engine is a 355 CI V8 with a 671 BDS Blower and Hilbourne Fuel injection. The engine was built by Lorenzos Fast Flow Cylinders and was putting out over 600 HP before the fuel injection was added. A Turbo 400 automatic transmission with reverse manual valve body, trans brake and line lock transfers the power to a 9 in Ford rear with 4:33 gears and a nodular center section. A wildwood 4 wheel disc setup brings this beast to a stop and adjustable rear shocks and 90/10 racing shocks upfront keep the rubber on the road. The car is equipped with power steering and a tilt and telescopic steering wheel. The ignition is electronic MSD and everything is controlled by a Fast Systems computer. The rear wing is an aluminum custom fabrication that helps to keep the tires hooked to the asphalt. The wheelie bars look great, and they are not welded on, so they can be removed for a more discreet look. To view this 1978 Corvette in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video shot with the owner putting this car through it’s paces, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our Philadelphia showroom located in West Deptford, NJ.
