Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 1953 Ford Customline. This vehicle is equipped with an all original cloth interior, am radio, seatbelts, white wall tires, as well as being a numbers matching vehicle “per owner statement”.
The beginning of this line began in 1952, when the Ford Motor Company did a restructuring of their all new vehicle line that began in 1949. The Customline was the mid-level car, the peddles have now become suspended from below the dash. A voltmeter, gas gauge, temp gauge, and oil pressure were standard. The clock and radio were positioned in the center of the dash, and the grille now sported a single center Bullet flanked by vertical black stripes. The radio preset buttons were even preset to local stations by your local ford dealer as a special yet unusual service. This vehicle is equipped with the long lived and famous Ford Flathead V8 coming in at 239 CID or 3.9L. This vehicle has been well taken care of and started its life In Louisville, Kentucky where it rolled off the assembly line on September 3, 1952. This car was restored in 2011, where it received full engine and transmission rebuild. During the vehicles restoration it was noted that the panels did not need to be replaced or patched so underneath its gorgeous black paint are its original and untouched panels. The all original interior compliments the exterior and speaks highly to the care the vehicle has seen through out its life. This car is not only breath taking, it is also a pleasure to take our and cruise down the road to your local cruise in.

Now available in our DFW-Showroom is this 1955 iconic Ford Thunderbird! The Thunderbird was considered a more dignified, personal luxury cruiser during its release. It had roll-up windows and standard V-8 power, both things that were not available on the first Corvettes in the 50’s. Other features included a removable fiberglass top, a fabric convertible top, and fender skirts for the rear wheels. There was one engine for the first 1955 T-Birds, and it was the 292 cid Y-Block V-8 fitted with a single four-barrel carburetor. With the standard 3-speed manual transmission, this engine made 193 horsepower, and with the optional Ford-o-Matic transmission, it made 198 horses. The exhaust pipes for the Thunderbird were integrated into the rear fascia and above the rear bumper, giving it an unmistakable Jet-Age look. This Thunderbird has a production date of, October 23rd-1954 and is one of the first 500 Thunderbirds manufactured! It still has the original 292 cu in Y-block V8 with a 3-speed manual, plus overdrive transmission. According to the owner, who’s owned it for the last 21 + years, this car has only 81,000 original miles! Other original parts to this vehicle include- Original Hardtop, Fender-skirts, Power seat, and Original AM radio for aesthetic purposes- (which isn’t functioning due to a 12-volt conversion). Other upgraded features include: Halogen headlights, LED tail lights, Interior seat, foam, door panels, carpet, dash cover, hardtop-headliner, H.D. radiator, 6 blade fan, 12-volt electrical conversion, Pertronics ignition, alternator, Holly 4000 barrel carburetor totally rebuilt, radial tires, and a space-saver spare. This is a strong running and great driving vehicle. If you’re looking a for a Thunderbird you can take out on the road and enjoy a cruise, look no further, you’ve found it! We are excited to offer for sale in our Saint Louis Gateway Classic Cars Showroom this beautiful Golden Rod Yellow 1955 Ford Thunderbird. This Amos Minter (of Minter’s Thunderbird in Dallas) restored 55’ T-Bird looks absolutely fantastic. Open the hood and you will see the original 292 CID 4BBL V8 engine that was rebuilt and restored to like new condition. The Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission was also rebuilt and shifts beautifully. The black and yellow interior shows very well with very little signs of usage. This is a highly optioned interior including the 4-way power seat and telescopic steering wheel. The AM radio and gauges were all rebuilt and function as they should. The 6-volt system is gone, in its place is a more modern and preferred 12-volt system. The rarely seen Golden Rod Yellow paint shines beautifully and stands proud against the gleaming brightwork on this 55’ T-Bird. The underside is just as clean and shows the detail of this quality restoration. The hard top is painted to match the body, while the soft top is black vinyl. You have the possibility of 3 different looks, yellow hard top, black vinyl top, or no top at all! The odometer reads 464, which represents the actual mileage put on the car since the restoration was complete. Options for this 1955 Ford Thunderbird include: AM Radio, Telescopic Steering Wheel, Manual Convertible Top (Hard and Soft Top included), Power Seats, Vinyl Interior, Power Steering, Firestone Wide White Wall Bias Ply Tires, and Kelsey Hayes Wire Wheels. This is an incredible opportunity to own a 55’ Thunderbird that was restored by the Thunderbird guru himself, Amos Minter. This no expense spared restoration also won the Gold Trophy in Washington State. We are very proud to offer for sale at our Saint Louis Gateway Classic Cars Showroom this stunning 1955 Ford Thunderbird. This is a great example of a very well restored 1st year Thunderbird. The smooth running 292 fires right up and idles smoothly. Equipment includes Power steering, Power brakes and Power windows. It is painted in an eye catching red over two tone red and white interior with a matching red hard top. Adding to the pop and shimmer is a set of radial wide white wall tires wrapped around a set of wire wheel hub caps for a very classy look. Power from the 292 is sent through a smooth shifting automatic transmission. The odometer is showing 88,393 with roughly 3,000 since the rebuild. The Thunderbird was Ford’s answer to the Corvette and they ended up selling 23 of them to every Corvette in 1955. This almost put an end to the Corvette until the Thunderbird went another route in 1958 and leaned more towards the luxury market by adding a couple of more seats. The first-generation Thunderbird will always be a recognizable car and who can forget Suzanne Sommers driving a white T-Bird in American Graffiti? Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this excellent 1936 Ford Pheaton. By the mid-1930s, fully open cars, the roadsters and phaetons, were losing out to convertible coupes and convertible sedans with roll-up side windows. Some manufactures, like General Motors, cut back on open styles altogether. Ford, however, kept a full line in production into the late 1930s. Even though the 1935 Ford Convertible Sedan had proved popular and the ’36 model even more so, leading to a mid-year version with enclosed luggage compartment, phaetons continued to do well, nearly matching the convertible sedans in popularity. This car has a newer restoration and is presented in Washington Blue and Tan LeBaron Bonney interior. This attractive body type combined modern (for the period) styling and V-8 performance. The engine is a 239-cid flathead V-8 (4600 miles since rebuilt) that is matched to a three-speed manual transmission. The phaeton has long, trim lines and seats six adults comfortably. Options include LeBaron Bonny interior, greyhound hood ornament, spare tire, hub caps, seat belts, vinyl interior, kill switch, wide white walls, and bias ply tires. Ford V-8s of the 1930s have been perennial favorites. This car demonstrates why this is so. 1936 Ford V-8 Deluxe Phaeton This 1936 Ford V-8 Phaeton is for sale in our Tampa Showroom and can be viewed in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
