Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this 1947 MG TC. This car will give you the full experience of fine British motoring. The tan interior and British exterior shows how good this MG has been cared for over the years. It is a fully restored and in original condition with the original engine and only has 352 miles since the rebuild. That is about as good as you may find in an example of an original MG TC. Twin SU- semi-down draught carburetors, 1250cc 4 cylinders and 54.4hp at 5200rmp puts you right in the middle of what it means to drive. The restoration took 6 painstaking years to complete. The wood frame was completely rebuilt. This TC is a real head turner. There are tons of documentation to go along with the purchase. Call our Showroom and we can provide the info that is available with this beautifully restored TC. The TC was the first postwar MG launched in 1945. It was quite like the pre-war TB, sharing the same 1,250 cc pushrod-OHV engine with a slightly higher compression ratio of 7.4:1 giving 54.5 bhp at 5200 rpm. The MG TC was exported to the United States, even though only ever built in right-hand drive. The export version had slightly smaller US specification sealed-beam headlights and larger twin rear lights, as well as turn signals and chrome-plated front and rear bumpers. The body was approximately 4 inches wider than the TB and measured at the rear of the doors to give more cockpit space. The tachometer was directly in front of the driver, while the speedometer was on the other side of the dash in front of the passenger. Options include: Bias ply tires, leather interior, wire wheels, and a convertible manual top. We are excited to have for sale in our Gateway Classic Car Saint Louis Showroom is a very rare 1949 MG YT 2DR Tourer Convertible. BACKGROUND: Only 904 YT’s were built for export to the United States from 1947 to 1950. The MG YT cars used rack and pinion steering, which was a rarely seen option for a car in America at the time. This particular MG YT fires right up and purrs just like a kitten. It runs and drives very well and is ready for a new owner to drive and enjoy it as often as desired. It is utilizing the same engine as the TC, a 1250cc 4 cylinder, but with a higher compression and two 1 BBL carburetors producing 54.4 horsepower and 64 lb-ft of torque. The independent front suspension setup features unequal length A-arms and coil springs to provide valuable feedback to the driver. Also standard were drum brakes and 16 inch wheels on all four corners. The chassis on the YT utilized a steel ladder frame, it was often and incorrectly said to be made of wood. What was made of wood, most of which was oak, was the framework on which the bodywork was hung. The MG YT Touring Convertible has 2 doors and seats 4 passengers. The interior features leather upholstery and wood grain accents, which was much more refined than the earlier MG T-Series sports cars. This YT body is finished in light beige with metallic brown fenders, and a dark brown cloth convertible top. The exterior color combination beautifully matches the beige leather interior with dark brown piping throughout. The odometer reads 1,946, but the actual mileage is unknown. Options for this 1949 MG YT 2DR Tourer Convertible include: Leather Upholstery, Manual Convertible Top, Wide White Wall Bias Ply Tires, and Hub Caps. To view this 1949 MG YT in greater detail, including HD pictures and an HD video, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com or our St. Louis Showroom. For sale in our Dallas Fort Worth showroom is a 1953 MG TD. Produced from 1950 until its final year of 1953, the MG TD featured a suite of upgrades that set it apart not only from its predecessor, but from many other sports cars of the day as well. The TD combined the drivetrain of it’s predecessor, the TC, a modified hypoid-geared rear axle, the MG Y-type chassis, a familiar T-type style body and independent suspension on front axle using coil springs from the MG Y-type saloon. All of these combined to create a significantly more comfortable driving experience and inherently broadened the appeal of the plucky Brit. Those handling upgrades were accompanied by MG’s well-known 1250cc, inline 4 cylinder engine, which produced around 55 horsepower. This particular TD comes painted in a stately two tone configuration with a yellow body and black fenders. The interior features classic brown seats with black interior paneling, and to literally top it off, a new black convertible top is included as well. To view this 1953 MG TD in greater detail, including 100+ HD photos and HD video, please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com. Engine: 4 CylinderTransmission: 4 Speed Manual w/ OverdriveMileage: 1,600 ( since rebuilt )
With only 1,600 miles on a freshly rebuilt drivetrain and a stack of receipts detailing the rebuild and restoration, this 1964 MG B is one of the nicest examples left! The stock 1.8L inline 4-cylinder and 4-speed manual transmission have been professionally rebuilt and fires right up. The stock 91 horsepower in this car was enough to get this little British roadster up to a top speed of 103mph and handles exceptionally well! Something else very unique to this car is that 3rd gear as well as 4th gear have an overdrive option that will help keep your rpm's lower no matter what speed. The recently reupholstered black interior looks great and will keep you comfortable on the longer drives. The black interior compliments the stunning red exterior well and will turn heads where ever it goes. As you slide in, fire it up and start to cruise you will be amazed at how capable this car feels. The low stance and light weight allow it to dart around easily but is not so rigid that it is a rough ride. If you are looking for a fun roadster that you can take out on a long weekend cruise or just down to the local car show, this MG B is an excellent option for you! A great deal of time and money has been put into this MG to get it ready for the next owner. This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1964 MG B in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. Engine: 4-CylTransmission: 4-Speed ManualMileage: 16,248 ( undocumented )
Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to offer a beautiful little 1979 MG B. MG produced Bs from 1962 all the way until 1980. There were subtle changes throughout the years, but the basic layout remained the same: a 4-cylinder engine up front, manual transmission in the middle, and power delivered to the rear wheels. These lightweight cars are popular with driving enthusiasts and even make great racecars. This particular example is finished in a snappy shade of bright orange which looks just as right on the car today as it did in ’79. The interior is very clean and features nice black vinyl upholstery and a simple dashboard with driver focused controls. Equipment is sparse, but you do get a stereo and full instrumentation. The convertible top and windows are operated the old-fashioned way which is all part of the fun of a car like this. Pop the hood and you’ll find a simple and reliable 4-cylinder engine. The engine compartment of this car is quite presentable and retains a fairly factory appearance. The shifter falls to hand perfectly and the car rows through the gears wonderfully. Whether you plan on blasting the backroads, hopping on the track for a vintage racing experience, or simple cruising around town, the MG B is a wonderful car to handle the task. What a wonderful way to enter the classic car hobby! You can see this lovely 1979 MG B in greater detail in our Chicago showroom or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
