For sale in our Scottsdale showroom is this outstanding 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe. Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is proud to present this all-American Pony Car beautifully finished in artic white with blue ralley stripes and a nicely done blue and white Pony Interior. This classic Mustang received an extensive restoration about 1000 miles ago including an overhaul of the “A code” 289 CID 4V engine and T-10 four speed transmission. Unlike many classic Mustangs out there that have had engine and transmission swaps this is an original “A” code 289 4 and four speed car from the factory, it even still sports the hard to find “Autolite” four barrel carburetor. The sheet metal is very straight and paint is excellent in a high-quality finish. The 15-inch period correct Rallye wheels are a perfect complement to this classic Mustang and are fitted with 20560R15 tires.
The chrome and bright work are excellent and the windshield and seal has also been replaced, the rest of the glass is in great condition as well. This Pony Car has new shocks and suspension parts, new clutch and a rebuilt steering gear. The drum brakes are power assisted and the steering is power as well. Engine cooling is handled by an upgraded aluminum radiator to keep things cool in hot weather.
Inside this fantastic Mustang you will find a very nice interior that has had many renovations. There is a Ford period correct under-dash air conditioner that has been upgraded with a modern lightweight “Sanden” style compressor using R134 Freon and it blows ice cold. The following items have been replaced during the restoration: seat upholstery, door panels, carpet, dash pad, headliner, Dynamat insulation and more, the interior of this Mustang is in outstanding condition. All the chrome, trim and bright work inside are in great shape. Tunes are provided by a modern digital “Retrosounds” stereo that sounds great, it even has a built-in slide cover to make it look like an old school AM radio!
This car starts right up and the dual, full length exhaust has a nice muscle car rumble but is not overly loud. The 289 CID engine has plenty of power and it drives and shifts great. This classic Mustang would be a fine addition to any car collection or a great way to begin your classic car passion.
So imagine this, an open road with a clear blue sky, you behind the wheel of this beautiful Mustang with your favorite music playing and that small block its own music in the background. This one is done right, you will not be disappointed. To see 100+ HD pictures and videos of this 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe visit GatewayClassicCars.com. For sale in our Dallas-Fort Worth showroom is this 1965 Ford Mustang fastback. This gorgeous Mustang Fastback was fully restored 15 years ago and just had a gorgeous fresh full paint job! Powered by a mildly built 289 backed by a 5-speed manual transmission and putting power to the ground through a 8” Currie rear end with 3.55 gears, this baby will move! This pony car is made much more enjoyable to drive with 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes and cold blowing A/C. The A/C is R134-A, so it is cheap and easy to recharge if it ever needs it. Other options include vinyl interior, seat belts, radial tires, aluminum alloy wheels, AM/FM/CD player, and fold down rear seat. During the restoration most of the metal on the car was replaced with new to make for a very solid Fastback! New exhaust including new manifolds and full dual exhaust was just done in 2015 along with high back bucket seats, and a new hydraulic clutch. The front end of this 65 was given a 66 grill which most people prefer as it is a cleaner look. Badging and emblems are kept to a minimum to maintain that smooth and clean look all around the car. 1965 was the first year for the mustang and is split into 2 categories: Early 1965 which is also known as the 1964 1/2 cars, and Late 1965 which include beauties like this example. There were small differences between the two, but the latter did use an alternator instead of a generator which almost everyone will agree was an upgrade. The fold down rear seat is the reason these cars were called 2+2s. You had a two-seat cruiser with the back seat folded down or you could put it up and seat 2 more passengers. Don’t miss your chance to own a very solid 65 Mustang priced on the lower end of the market! For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is an early 1965 Ford Mustang. Making this an early '65 is the 260 V8 as opposed to the later 289. The 260 was a carryover from the outgoing Ford Falcon that the Mustang ended up replacing. Some will argue a car being a '64 1/2 or an early '65. This one does have some of the typical equipment found on an early '65 or '64 1/2. Such items include different door lock pulls, specific hub caps, different horn location, generator vs. an alternator, smaller Mustang emblems on the fenders and of course the 260 V8 just to name a few. This one is painted red over a black vinyl interior complimented with a white vinyl headliner. Inside you'll notice a standard Mustang interior with one exception, an original Air Conditioning unit mounted beneath the dash. The power source under the hood is the mentioned F code 260 V8 that runs quite well and sends power through a 3 speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. The serial number for this early Mustang is 7082. Still quite low considering almost 700,000 Mustangs were produced in 1965. For more information on this early 1965 Ford Mustang, call our St. Louis showroom at 618-271-3000 or swing by for an up close viewing. Gateway Classic Cars is pleased to offer this All-American classic 1965 Ford Mustang. First introduced as a 1964 ½ model, the Mustang instantly took the world by storm and created an entirely new segment in the automobile industry. The popularity of the Mustang has never waned, and it still dominates the sporty 2-door segment even today. This blue drop-top beauty has been in the same family since the 1990’s. The Mustang still shows well, despite having an older restoration. There are a few areas that could use some attention, but this pony car still has good bones and would make a great “fair weather driver” or a kick-off point for a fresh restoration. A newer white convertible top and newer boot match the nice white vinyl interior. Power comes from the 200CID 6-cylinder mated to a 3-speed manual transmission, both of which have been rebuilt by a specialty shop in Greenfield, Indiana. The car has been garaged recently and has had very few miles driven since 2015-2016. It’s time to get this pony back on the road! Drop the top and take a cruise in style in one of the most iconic automobiles ever built. The year is 1965, Racing driver Jim Clark wins the Indianapolis 500, and later wins the Formula One world driving championship in the same year. While this gorgeous Ford Mustang rolls off the assembly line, trying to keep up with the demand of the public. Now recently rebuilt starting with the 289 V8, A/C, power steering, backed by an automatic transmission, digital dash, vinyl interior. Lee Iacocca's assistant general manager and chief engineer, Donald N. Frey was the head engineer for the T-5 project—supervising the overall development of the car in a record 18 months—while Iacocca himself championed the project as Ford Division general manager. The T-5 prototype was a two-seat, mid-mounted engine roadster. This vehicle employed the German Ford Taunus V4 engine. It was claimed that the decision to abandon the two-seat design was in part due to the increase in sales the Thunderbird had seen when enlarged from a two-seater to a 2+2 in 1958. Thus, a four-seat car with full space for the front bucket seats, as originally planned, and a rear bench seat with significantly less space than was common at the time, were standard. A "Fastback 2+2", first manufactured on August 17, 1964, enclosed the trunk space under a sweeping exterior line similar to the second series Corvette Sting Ray and European sports cars such as the Jaguar E-Type coupe. Favorable publicity articles appeared in 2,600 newspapers the next morning, the day the car was "officially" revealed. A Mustang convertible also appeared in the James Bond film Goldfinger in September 1964 To view the car in greater detail, including an HD video and 100+ HD pictures please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com or our Denver showroom. Thank you for your interest in this sleek 1965 Ford Mustang located in our Tampa location. This car is a true piece of Ford history that simply turns heads anywhere it cruises by. The Twilight Turquoise green paint scheme with black vinyl top have made this car really stand out against other Mustangs in its class and is the way this car came from the factory when it was new. This rare 200 CI 6 cylinder and 3 speed manual transmission have been completely rebuilt just under 11,000 miles ago. The 200 CI 6 is rated at 120 horse power but sure feels like more. Contrary to popular belief, the first model year for the Ford Mustang was 1965. Mustangs produced between March 9th and July 31st of 1964 are often coined the 1964 ½ Ford Mustang by enthusiasts, but for all intents and purposes, the cars are 1965 models on paper. The 1965 Mustang listed is built after the time line and is an actual 1965 with the 200 inline 6. This particular Mustang has been restored and redone about 7 years ago and has a 170 sticker on the air breather but it is in fact the 200 due to there being 5 freeze plugs in the block. It has recently had new tires and brakes put on it. The overall condition of the paint, interior, and engine in my opinion would rate as show quality. This car has many options like Air conditioning, AM/FM radio, black vinyl interior, and even white wall tires which makes the cars driving ability comfortable. If you are looking for the first classic car investment or even adding to one and need that super clean Mustang, this is the car for you. This 1965 Mustang is for sale in our Tampa Showroom and can be viewed in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. This truck has gone through a complete overall and ready for it’s next car show, and fully capable of taking home the trophies. As you will notice the rear of this truck shows “Trophy Hunter” which adds some nice appeal, but for those not favoring it, this can be easily removed if you would like. Powering the beauty is a 302 CID V8 that’s been paired to a 3-speed automatic transmission. The truck was built by “Hill’s Hot Rods” out of Lubbock, TX back in 2011 but took over 4 years and claimed to more than $200,000 into the build. The truck also features Doug’s headers, Edlebrock carburetor, and an aluminum Be Cool radiator to ensure proper cooling of the strong running engine. The truck rides smooth with upgraded suspension to include tubular upper and lower control arms, adjustable coil over shocks in the rear, and Bilstein shocks in the front. To give the truck some nice flare, the valve covers, and air cleaner were sprayed in a very nice bronze color. The truck has a very sleek paint job with a 2-tone color combo. The lower layer is a soft cream color that is topped off with a maroon that looks almost like a root beer when shining in the sunlight. This color combo is not seen often and is certainly a head turner. If you are looking for a truck that will let you stand out in a crowd, then this is the one for you. Winning numerous awards through the years to include taking 12th place at Good Guys back in 2011. The truck sits on a nice set of Bonspeed wheels 18” in the front and 20” in the rear. Behind the wheels are SSBC brakes mounted to slotted rotors on all 4 wheels to provide plenty of stopping power. The interior of this truck is far from original and done in a nice lighter brown color. In the center of each section is a nice darker brown patterned material that gives the truck some flare. The interior flows well with the other colors throughout the exterior of the truck and is truly show quality. The panels, and headliner have been customized as well to keep uniformity throughout the vehicle. With the options of tilt wheel, A/C, power steering, power brakes, and door poppers this truck is ready for a show.
