With a professional restoration meticulously finished in 2012, this 1954 Jaguar XK120 Drop Head convertible is truly a sight to behold. The XK120 was the fastest production car of its day and was a strong competitor on race day winning a few 24-hour endurance races including Mt. Druitt in Australia back in 1954. The “120” represented the top speed right from the factory. This XK120 is in excellent shape and has had a few minor upgrades bringing it up to date and making it an excellent driver’s car including converting the electrical system to 12 volt from 6 volt, an electronic ignition, electric fan for optimal cooling, and a tremec 5-speed manual transmission adding synchros in all gears and an overdrive gear. These upgrades do not take away from the original looks of the car but increase the drivability dramatically. Redone just this last year in 2017 included the top end of the engine rebuilt with new valve seats for pump gas, rebuilt SU carburetors, rebuilt brake cylinders on all corners, new plugs and wires installed, and in 2018 the interior was reupholstered, and the paint was ceramic coated for ease of cleaning. This Jaguar is a stunning car both to drive and admire and would make the perfect addition to a collection or dream car for a Jaguar enthusiast. This vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1954 Jaguar XK120 in greater detail including HD pictures and an HD video of it running and driving at Gatewayclassiccars.com. For sale in our Dallas-Fort Worth showroom is this gorgeous tuxedo black 1959 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. This stunning 2 top Vette has a beautiful red interior, a 270 hp 2x4 solid lift 283 with a 4-speed transmission and wide whitewalls with knockoff hubcaps. To the credit of all involved, the 1959 Corvette was “cleaned up” considerably. For one, the chrome “suspenders” were removed from the design, providing Corvette with a more swept back look that was synonymous with speed. For another, it was decided that the faux hood louvers would be eliminated, returning the Corvette to a semblance of its former self. While these features were key identifiers of the 1958 Corvette, there was no question that the elimination of the excessive chrome would reduce weight and help increase performance. Much like the exterior of the Corvette, the interior received minor, but significant updates as well. Both the door handles and the armrests were repositioned and a small-item storage compartment was added beneath the passenger side grab bar. In addition, both the driver and passenger seats were redesigned to offer increased lateral support of their occupants. All tachometers now indicated up to 7,000 rpm and offered redline and safe limit indicators. Sun visors were introduced to the 1959 Corvette as a new option and concave instrument lenses replaced the flat covers of the 1958 Corvette, thereby reducing sun glare (and other reflections) that might cause a driver to become distracted. For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a beautifully restored 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible. This resto-mod Tri-Five underwent a no expense spared full restoration. The cranberry metallic paint was applied with great care and patience as it looks as good as you’ll find. The beautiful paint is matched by all new polished molding and trim pieces. The underside is almost as impressive, the floor pans were all painted to match the body. The frame and suspension were sandblasted, primed, and painted with heavy duty cranberry metallic paint. You will also find new ball joints, tie-rod ends, bushings, gas tank, fuel lines, and brake lines under this beauty. Ultra-soft leather with ostrich upholstery covers the interior and trunk, while custom made floor mats, high end carpet, a leather wrapped steering wheel, and a polished tilt steering column add to the allure of it all. Surrounding the 350 CID V8 is enough chrome and polished metal to fill a high-end jewelry store, stainless hood hinges, polished valve covers, air cleaner, radiator support, chrome battery tray, and intake to name a few of the shiny goodies under the hood. Ceramic coated headers flow to the MagnaFlow mufflers and exhaust producing and awesome sound. A heavy-duty aluminum radiator has been employed to keep the 350 V8 engine at a nice operating temperature even on the hottest of days. The firewall has been shaved to provide a nice fit and finish in the engine bay. The odometer reads 1,122, which represents the mileage on the car since the restoration was complete.
